The basics:
Tip #1: like a dog, most cats are food motivated, do not have any food out except for the food you're using
Tip #2: use their regular food for this or safe for cats human food like chicken (please read up on things first tho) and do not use treats
Tip #3: unlike dogs, do not, under any circumstance touch your cat when trying to get them to do something
Tip #4: tell them the command when doing the action to signal theirs, once they preform the trick give it to them immediately
Tip #5: don't have their food out all the time, but instead have scheduled times for feeding
The Tricks:
Sit: put the treat within their site but not right in front of their face but close enough for them to smell it, then once you have their attention slowly bring it back and over their head
Come Here: show them the treat, then walk away from them, another alternative is to tap the treat against a hard surface near you if it sounds like food hitting their bowl they should follow
Mid Air Catch: no real skill to this one but depends on the cat, cats with more predominant hunting instincts are more likely to do this, tap the treat or show it to them and then throw it a couple inches above their head, if they don't figure it out move on to a different trick
On The Ground Catch: again, no real skill to this one and it depends on the cat, hunting instinct is what drives this, tap the treat or show them and then slide it across the floor and they may go after it, if not move on to a different trick
Lay Down: get them to sit and then bring the treat down to the ground and lay your hand holding it there

I basically taught my cats to come. Any age not just kitten. All I did was make this swishy psst sound each time I fed them. To this day they come to me when I do it, food or no food (though they are definitely disappointed when there is no food) Currently teaching my current cat Bella this. She knows the sound, but is usually too stubborn to come. But she's learning ^ω^

Yes, I taught Diablo when he was a kitten but Chatter was fully grown when I taught her. And Bella is also fully grown and she's getting there, but she's really stubborn I'll admit lol

All of my cats gather at the food bowls when they hear the Ric Flair theme song
Just consistently play the same song immediately before feeding, and eventually they make the connection on their own

Oh thanks I have been trying to teach my cat to sit for a long time. She is an outdoor cat so she is more independent
