OOC I used to be a vegetarian until I got a bunch of allergies that made it so I had to get protein from somewhere, so now I'm a pescatarian, which means I only eat fish, no meat. But hey, if you need any recipes or food ideas for vegetarian meals, lemme know.

i just started about two weeks ago. it seems hard at first but it gets easier cause you start thinking of more things you can eat. one thing that i love is chicken-less quesadillas- graded cheese on a tortilla, and i usually chop up part of a bell pepper and an onion and put it in too, then combine it with salsa. so so so easy and yummy and mmmm

I actually love meat, so I can't really give it up... I don't like how the animals are treated, but I'm never being a vegetarian.

ok my absolute favorite food to make is chickenless chicken noodle soup!!! so so so nice.
I also make tacos by replacing the meat with beans or with cooked mushrooms, to keep it warm and easy to bite into like if it were ground hamburger!
quesadillas are really yummy also, i second that!
And spaghetti is SOOOO nice. i always chop carrots, bell peppers, mushrooms, etc etc into the sauce to make it healthier.
you can buy veggie dogs and hamburgers also! be warned the texture of the hot dogs is weird at first, which i combatted by eating it with onions until it felt normal. the hamburgers usually are spicy also, since they're generally made out of beans.

@embersanja Okay, okay That's kinda rude what you said, just saying Because not all people are doing it because they're being selfish, I have an extreme hyper sensitivity, and acid reflux and changing foods is just stress for me. I would rather not be in constant pain, and stressed, because I am saving countless lives Put your medical needs before others medical needs that'd all be relevant information if i was talking to you instead of the person I quoted, thank you for sharing! i hope other people understand that as well!

Second of all, don't call me selfish. I don't need someone saying I shouldn't or should eat meat. It's my choice.

i grew up on a small farm too, there was a lot of mistreatment of the animals in general, especially after you factor in their nutritional, exercise, and spacial requirements and whatnot ): plus force breeding animals i mean dang. what's wrong with you? my parents are expecting two calves and my brother is very excited about milking the cows and i'm just like. rip. how did it get like this

ok milking cows is not mistreatment. They need to be milked or else their udders well swell and it will be very uncomfortable for them. Secondly, most farms I have seen feed them a high protein diet of corn silage and hay. In the wild cows would only have hay and have little protein in their diets. This builds strength and ability to make more milk. Most farms I have seen the cows lay on sand or straw. Most of them are basically hanging out at a beach all day with pressure being relieved from them twicce a day. From my experience as a farm hand, I have seen very little mis treatment overall. Cows are tough too and don't even notice the occasional roughness at all. They could crush you without being aware of it.
I am not denying there isn't no mistreatment though.
Also animals are not and never will be humans and should not be treated as humans.
I am only speaking for the dairy industry in canada as that is all I have experience in

Victorious, Blackstar is mistaken. I wasn't trying to convert anyone to anything. If you'd like me to try there's a million things I could go for that aren't "this child on a cat forum thinks they're worth more than the billions of animals and humans abused and killed via a system they could help take down". Or, as I said it to you, "that's selfish". None of which I will try because I didn't come here to push an agenda, I came here to offer help to someone. :/ Why did you come here?

Canada might be much better than the US tbh. I know the farms here, the US, are basically the definition of "dear jesus lord almighty send help". My family's small farm included. And yeah I know they need to be milked to be relieved of pressure but like if u think about it that kinda came about because humans bred them to produce so much they can't function on their own. People have hurt animals to their very DNA and it's really sad

tbh i don't think we should try to 'convert' anyone. let people know that the lifestyle exists, yeah, but don't try to 'convert people'. a lot of times it just ends up coming off rude and it's the reason why vegetarians and vegans get a bad rep. besides, people who get guilted or forced into it by someone else usually don't end up sticking with it, it's just a waste of time. also, i feel like the only people who listen to people who are all forceful about it (ie youtubers who are really obnoxious and yell and scream at the audience for not being vegan) are the ones who are already doing it and that just makes the audience more forceful. personally i do it because of the animals, yeah, but also in order to make myself more conscious of what i eat and to try to be healthier. yeah, you can be perfectly healthy with meat, but what i do is just suck down whatever food i can get my hands on. i was a HUGE meat lover, HUGE. i just feel a lot more confident now. if other people don't feel this way, that's fine. it's a personal choice.

@victorious that's why i said i hope you can move past it! selflessness is a really nice trait, tho basically only if everyone would have it. if some do and some don't then the ones that do are probably gonna get stepped on a lot, unfortunately :/ one day though i think the world is gonna get better and everyone is gonna be happy and kind and safe. that's what i've committed my life to making happen at least
