in case u havent noticed yet this isnt wcf sometimes i wish it was tbhI certainly don't. The old one was too restrictive imo. The only thing I miss from the old one is it had more members. And my old threads of course

America cause we have Trump. If you move to Canada you got to learn some French 1. is trump REALLY why you want to stay in america bc if so....yikes 2. you dont "got to" learn french. yeah, half the country speaks it, but unless you're in quebec you will not be seeing random stores unable to comprehend english. its good to be intelligent enough to know a second language, but it isnt a necessity

@animefreak 1. Because I have personal reasons why.
2. Yes I do agree, but you got to learn some french. I believe my friend said that Canadians speak some French.

2. Yes I do agree, but you got to learn some french. I believe my friend said that Canadians speak some French. idk where you live in america but in the south there's pressure to learn spanish, since we have a large hispanic population. spanish is the default language course in schools here though they are terrible at teaching it

Even the AP courses you see for languages are primarily Spanish, with French and German trailing behind (at least in high school).

i'm in wisconsin aka very north, basically canada, and we have like 2 years of mandatory spanish classes in middle school, and then in high school you aren't allowed to choose a different language until the last two years of school.

I believe my friend said that Canadians speak some French. obviously you're friend isnt a canadian then, or at least not one very familiar with their country we have to learn french in school up until grade 10/11, but english IS our main language. again, unless you're in quebec, you'll never see stores or police or whatever that dont understand (at the very least basic aspects of) english. besides, if you do move to quebec, french is probably one of the easiest languages to learn. a lot easier than spanish, i'd say.

I'd venture that the ease of learning a language is based on where you're brought up (to a point - obviously Russian and Chinese, for example, are harder than French or Spanish). So for Americans in San Diego and Santa Fe, for example, Spanish might be very prevalent, whereas in Quebec, Spanish isn't so much an issue.

As a Canadian resident, I only had to learn French from grade 4-9. Anywhere you go, you'll find English speakers. I was in Quebec over the summer and just about everyone we ran into spoke English as well.

You don't gotta learn French at EVERY school but in some places it is a forced course usually until grade 9.
Canada though because our Charter of Rights and Freedoms rocks.
