I won't actually reveal what it is due to privacy reasons, but I do not like having a rare name. I like the name itself and all, but really
- no personalized stuff with my name on it at gift shops (so I have a ton of stuff that says 'sister' or 'friend' instead of my actual name) -people associate my name with a movie which I absolutely DESPISE - nobody can spell it correctly -"Gee, that's a....very...UNIQUE name!" is that really the most creative first impression you can come up with? -"oh that's not a real name" -nobody knows my last name because I'm the only one with my first name at my school so it's not even needed to distinguish me from anyone else (which really sucks because I feel singled out all the time) -it doesn't alliterate with anything which makes name games (where you have to name something that alliterates with your name) horrible -when everyone talks about sharing names with people I have to sit to the side alone
this is a Real Struggle I just wish more people had my name so I wouldn't be singled out more for it

I wish the opposite... I want to have a less common name because my name is so childish and common to me... I want to be called Crystobelle.

idk if my name is rare but it's unusual, and I get the list you made /: I like it sometimes, but sometimes I wish I didn't have it bc people pronounce it so off or like, yeah. Sometimes I get the "your name is super pretty O:" and I'm like "eh" lol.

I agree with everything but sharing names. This girl has the same name as me and she's already incredibly annoying, I don't need to pass her in the hallway and get mad at me JUST because we have the same name. It's like, lay off ya know? I was born first anyway, so please, don't go around saying "That girl stole my name," because no honey, I didn't. I really dislike that girl.

I always get annoyed thinking that I'll never get personalized stuff without ordering it special. Even worse, my name is a variant of a common name, so everyone uses that spelling or just completely botches it. If I had a thousand bucks for every time people have spelled my name wrong, I would retire.

trust me, having one of the most common first AND last names is not all it's cracked out to be

my name isn't even uncommon but it's never on those name things and for some reason no one can spell it…I have the most common spelling of it (at least from all the people I've met--seven have had my spelling and one has had the spelling everyone tries)
I wouldn't mind not being able to find it (like…it's not so common that people have trouble and confuse me with other people, so that's good) but I also don't like the way it sounds so oh well
edit: my sister has the same name as someone who became famous (my sister was named before that person was famous) and she hates that the famous person exists because now she gets comments about that

Tbh I read this as "I do not like having a rare meme" at first and then I thought that couldn't be it so I read it again and I still saw meme in place of name and it took reading the actual post to see name

I totally get that, but at the same time, I do like having a rare name. Funnily enough, talking about the souvenirs, I went to look for my name in the country of origin on my name and even there I didn't find anything. My brothers also like to associate me to the one famous person in history who has my name as well. What a struggle. Anyway, I have a love-hate relationship with this rare name thing.

My name (Silles but pronounced like Silas) is not an uncommon name but obviously how its spelled is
I've heard 'Sye-uhl-eese', 'Sills', 'Suh-ye-se', 'Sigh-luls' 'Sigh-les', 'See-yeus' and like plenty more. Its really annoying because I actually never know if they're talking to me or not since people butcher it so much. I mean I understand why people have trouble with it though but I really want to change it.

Wilbur is my name... I haven't heard many people with that name. I just go by Will all the time, now that's a common, generic name. I hate how people will hear my actual name and call me Willy to pick on me. It makes me mad.

I have an uncommon name and I still write my last name on everything in school.
What bugs me is getting my name butchered literally every time I meet a new person.
My name is Rhiannon.

i hate the way people say my name. it's like they are mocking me in a way, how some people say it with a whine or a d instead of a t. it's awful, but it's a fitting name for me because I was born in december my real name is natalie but please, please, PLEASE don't call me by that. thistle/pete is fine.

My name is common enough that everyone knows how to pronounce it but nobody else has it. It's a nice balance. I've not met one person who pronounces the English version correctly though. That being said, I kinda really want to start going by my middle name because it's much prettier, but I've no idea how to pull that off.

My name is uncommon and I've probably met about 3 people with it. Sometimes I'll find it on souvenirs but it really depends where I'm at. For example when I was vacationing in Oregon, they didn't have anything with my name on it yet they did down in Arizona. My last name, on the other hand, is very rare to find in the USA. Hardly anyone spells it right and they always forget a specific letter.
