But I'm just feeling so overwhelmed by school and work rn. I'm a freshman in college, taking 5 classes, and the workload is already more than I can handle; I'm spending practically every spare moment that I have doing schoolwork and I'm still not getting everything done. I just finished an English essay last week, and already I've been given a second one to do.
And on top of that, I have to do this thing called a "film blog" which basically means that I have to watch 10 doccumentaries, take notes on them, and write a freaking blog on them, by the end of this month, and I haven't even started on THAT yet.
Like??? I'm sorry [insert English professor's name here] but do you not understand how long it takes to watch ten freaking doccumentaries, take notes on them, and write ten blog posts?? And then write a completely separate essay on top of that as well???
And that isn't even counting my other classes. American Music takes me at least an hour a night, if not more, and at the very least I've been spending three hours on math due to the sheer quantity of work that I have to do. It's been taking about two hours to get through a chapter in Victimology. My last class, well, we rarely have homework in that class, but I like to spend at least half an hour looking over my class notes... so that's five and a half hours, nightly, that I spend on homework, and that's when we disregard the English that I mentioned earlier.
Keep in mind that I work six to eight hours, five days a week, and both of my days off are weekdays, so I can't even relax on the weekend because I have a job.
I literally have no time. Zero.
So please, Mr. English professor, when the heck am I supposed to watch these ten stinking doccumentaries?? (The essay, I can figure out, but ten doccumentaries??? I don't even have time for one!)
Help? Please?

Yeah ik It really sucks Like I'm not even sure that I know anything, but my grades have always been good Because society thinks grades>knowledge And it's not fair

I would give some better advice but man I really don’t know.
Maybe focus more on all your other classes, or on work? That English assignment is terrible and sounds really time consuming. You'll get way more done if you don’t put all your focus on that and step back for smaller projects.
Yes English is important but your work in other classes is too (would you rather survive in one class or do okay in four?) even if there's a lot of that, as well. If you finish with slightly smaller assignments you may have more time to work on that. Make sure to get some sleep; giving yourself at least a few hours every night is very, very worth it. Also looking up summaries online of the documentaries may be really helpful (because you won’t even have to watch them). If there’s a way to download it or watch online you could listen to it when you’re doing other things like eating or going to work.
Wish I could be more helpful, but best of luck to you!

Suicide tw Truth be told, after I graduated high school, I almost committed suicide because I knew I couldn't handle anything. It's hard, not quite manageable, but I've lived....barely. I was still going through a hard time and all I wanted was love. I was severely depressed and refused medication. It was truly a low point.
But take less strenuous classes at once. It's going to be okay

I mean the assignment is 300 points so blowing it off isn't exactly the best idea But thank you for this, I'll definitely keep these options in mind! I mean I haven't even started the assignment so I'm kinda already doing that but you know, semantics Maybe I'll look up summaries and bs it tho bc my teacher at least grades easy and some points is better than none lol

I mean I'm so stressed rn that the thought has crossed my mind but honestly I know that wouldn't be the best idea. I had a friend who committed suicide and I just can't bring myself to even consider making my family and friends go through that kind of pain
But are u okay now tho? But yeah I'm taking four classes only next semester, not exactly easy ones but still less work lmao

In response to your very first post…
As someone who just got out of college, the only thing I can tell you is that this is what college is… That assignment sucks, but you’ll probably have more crazy professors that give you weird assignments. All you can do is hold your head high, know where to go for help (physical, academic, and mental), and do your best…
As someone close to me once put it, college basically puts your life on hold for 4 or five years, and then you spend the rest of your time after graduation trying to put it back together and find your interests again…
I wish you the best of luck…
