Antacids. If you're having acid reflux, these work wonders. Take one or two. Other than that, the only thing I can say is to stay sitting up. That might help out a bit. Hope you feel better. :c

I get really bad acid reflux as well, mine's as a symptom of other illnesses, particularily my food allergies and abdominal migraines. I'm sorry it's getting so bad for you, acid reflux is awful.
When my medicine isn't helping, I usually drink chamomile tea with a whole ton of honey. The honey, I find, soothes the burn slightly. Ginger is also really helpful sometimes. If you're having difficulty swallowing, though, maybe try chewing gum? I don't do that quite so often, and it doesn't help me by much, but it's a distraction if nothing else, and the saliva buildup could do something to help you.
Sorry it's going so badly, acid reflux is the worst. I hope it gets better soon.

Getting it constantly must not be fun, I'm sorry. I'm lucky enough that mine comes and goes at least.
Would that be a gastroscopy or a laryngoscopy, if you don't mind sharing? I had a gastroscopy a few years back, partially because of my acid reflux, and I'm really sensitive to touch as well. I don't know quite how it works where you are, but I asked to go under anaesthetic while they performed it and knowing that I wasn't going to be aware of anything or remember it afterward was really helpful for me. I'm not saying to go through with it if you don't want to, of course, do what you want to and feel comfortable with, but I thought I'd share my experience with the whole thing just in case you find it helpful.

Ah, so that wouldn't be of any help then. I can understand that.

That's good, at least. Getting sleep can be difficult when it's bad so I'm glad you found a way.
Urgh. It's really not fun at all when it gets like that.

I had that once as well. Quite possibly the worst 24 hours of my life. Since then I've just stayed on the medicine that I know works, I really don't want to change meds again if that's the risk I'm running.

A whole week? Wow, that sounds awful. I was able to get a hold of my doctor the moment I realised something was wrong, and then I went back on my meds right away, so by the next morning it had gone down enough for me to eat and the day after that I was pretty much back to normal.
