so i'm taking a new medication (bupropion xl) and it's really helping with my mood. i was actually on it a few years ago, but had to stop due to an interaction with another medication.
the fact that it's working is amazing cause i've tried so many antidepressants.. they all didn't work or had excessive side effects. right now i'm worried because ever since i went up to a clinical dose i haven't been at all hungry, and i've have trouble making myself eat cause it induces nausea. this doesn't really bother me but i haven't eaten all day and i barely ate yesterday, and i can't keep up this pattern. even the antipsychotic i take isn't affecting my appetite, and it normally makes me hungrier. but like this is the first time i've felt anything good in over a year?? and that's counting summer 2015 as "good", even though it was a hella problematic hypomanic episode.
i don't want to lose this feeling but on the other not eating is really bad i almost don't want to tell people about it, but i know that's the wrong thing to do. plus my family is bound to notice i'm not eating much sometime soon. i'm also at a high risk for mania... i'm not there yet but i know myself and i know how bupropion works.. it's so frustrattinggggg cause i've been waiting since this time last year for something, some medication to work and it's just not fair.

awh ): that sounds really tough. i understand you want to keep feeling good, that's what everyone wants!! but.. if you don't eat, instead of feeling good you might feel kinda, uh, dead. or a lot dead. very dead. yes. maybe you can take the medication in conjunction with an anti-nausea medication? something simple like omeprazole or sucralfate? stuff for acid/bile reflux. maybe. definitely talk to someone about it though!! i'm glad you made this post, because it shows you're aware of what's going on with you. and i'm glad you do have medicine because it shows you can already get help when you need it <3 i love you and i'm sure things will work out!! i'm always available to talk c:

I'm really sorry this is happening :c How long has it been like that? Maybe consider lowering the dosage by a little (probably the initial dosage, if it's not the same), instead of taking the clinical dosage?
When I was on anti-depressants, I was the same way. I would go days without eating because I wasn't hungry and when I tried to force myself to eat I was nausea just eating the first bite. I just assumed it was a side effect of it and my parents didn't think anything of it. For me it would last a week or two and then my appetite would come back and I could eat again before my appetite disappeared.

I honestly have no idea what to tell you but i wish I did. I personally would take feeling good over eating but that isn't good for your health. I would tell your doctor and tell them about your dilemma and see what they suggest. It might suck if you have to change medication but your physical health is just as important as your mental. I hope whatever you do is what's best for you

I eat to feel good, so this is terrible to hear. (Yeah, I'm a bit of a compulsive eater, but I skip meals to make myself suffer) Point is, you need to eat. No eating means no living. Get it checked out. Please? i'm sorry you eat to feel good, i've heard of people doing that and it can be really frustrating. i know i need to eat, i'm calling my doctor today. thanks <3

But left with like a carrot or turnip, I'd choose to starve. Good that you're calling your doctor
