I know a lot of people have been skeptical about a warriors film adaptation, which makes sense. The director would most likely dumb-down a lot of the violent/morbid content which is in the books. However, I am glad AliBaba Pictures has chosen to do the adaptation. I have seen some of their other film such as "Journey to the West" where although the film looks to be more youth oriented, they do not bother to spare the violence and morbid content which the story needs. I would only be concerned about the Warriors movie if they use the licence to let another company produce the film and AliBaba Pictures just takes part in funding.

hopefully it won't be some disney-like movie. most of their classics, like cinderella and sleeping beauty, were really depressing and creepy. the stepsisters cut parts of their feet off to fit in the shoes, and you don't even want to know what happened to sleeping beauty. disney scraped all that stuff out and made everything kid friendly.

i mean, if you string together all the warriors MAPs out there, i'm sure you could make several feature films
this seems to have the most credibility of all the warriors movie rumors given that it comes from vicky but it's really common for film projects to just disappear and i don't feel like there's a lot of interest for a warriors movie anymore; something like that would have been a good investment maybe around the same time that the legend of the guardians movie came out

I think it'll be interesting to see if they will actually do anything good with it. I think if they were to make a good movie, it might be what the books need to get a kick-start. if the movie motivates new people to read the books, they might even eventually recreate the forums. who knows? I know that is all wishful thinking, but I'm in an optimistic mood right now, so...

It must be sad to AliBaba to have so many negative fans of the project but I won't actually be angry or upset if it isn't true to the source material
it could make good memes idk
(I'd be happy if it was just a trailer, even, because screencaps are fun)

I personally see this as a slight red flag warning, honestly. I've been a bit skeptical about this whole WARRIORS movie thing from the get-go. I've never heard of Alibaba Pictures until the news of a movie being made came up, and I have my hunches that it could all be a total flop.
But I don't know, I'm overly cautious about some to most things, so that's just what I think. All I can say is be careful everyone, you never know with the internet these days. If your gut tells you something is wrong, listen to it. Alibaba Pictures helped make Mission Impossible Rogue Nation, Star Trek Beyond, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows (although not the best movie) and some others I am to lazy to mention. I think as long as they have main parts from the book in the movie it will probably come out good, David Heyman has also been announced as the producer for the movie (he was producer for the Harry Potter movies) which should help make it better hopefully. |
