I'm not a huge fan or anything, but I do enjoy some of their songs a lot. My bf is a bigger fan than I am.

❁Bleak yes they are!
John 3:16 I'll give you my favorite [or two] from each of their albums, so you've got an idea of them x3 I'll put them in a spoiler here
Sounding The Seventh Trumpet (2001) This is their first album when all they did was really heavy stuff. I'm not entirely into it, because their new stuff is much better, but my favorite from this album is an awesome piano ballad called Warmness on the Soul
Waking the Fallen (2003) Wow wow wow. This album is amazing. I have so many favorites from this one. Second Heartbeat, I Won't See You Tonight (part 2), to name a couple.
City of Evil (2005) Bat Country, Seize The Day, Betrayed
Avenged Sevenfold (2007) Omg, I like pretty much every song on this album I think the only one I don't care for of the 10 songs is maybe....nope. I like every single song. Critical Acclaim, Afterlife (definitely a top), Scream (will be stuck in your head), Almost Easy, Gunslinger, Unbound, Brompton Cocktail, Lost, A Little Piece of Heaven (I wouldn't suggest this one if you're younger than 15. Search the lyrics before you listen to the actual song or watch the music video. Definitely rated pg-13. Maybe more hah. This was the like...second song I ever heard, the first being Afterlife. Needless to say, not being used to such...different, explicit lyrics, I was a bit disturbed. But now it's a personal favorite.), and Dear God, my personal favorite.
Nightmare (2010) This is their first album without the beloved Rev, their amazing drummer. This is like...a tribute album to him, I believe. My favorite is Fiction, the last song written by him before he died. Other favorites are Buried Alive, So Far Away (very sad tribute), Welcome to the Family, and Buried Alive
Hail To The King (2013) This album is basically an album based on the bands they look up to. Like, This Means War has the same tune and beat as Metallica's Sad But True, with permission of course. My other favorites on this album are Requiem, Crimson Day (dedicated to his newborn son), Planets, and Acid Rain. It was shortly after this album was released that I was introduced to the band.
The Stage (2016) Literally just released like 4 days ago. Absolutely amazing. i can't pic a favorite haha. I don't care much for Simulation, or The Stage, tho. Paradigm is really awesome. I'm totally hooked on God D*mn, Creating God, Higher (possibly a tribute to The Rev?), Roman Sky, and Angels. This album is a concept album based on artificial intelligence and the self-destruction of society. It's pretty awesome. They have a new drummer now, and he is really close to The Rev. Honestly, I'm impressed.
