Do you think Pinenose did a good job taking care of Violetkit?
I personally don't think she was completely awful but I also think they didn't really have the connection most mothers and children have and that while Violetkit was obviously fed and whatnot, she didn't have a lot of her emotional needs met. Most cats in ShadowClan didn't like her and gossiped about her despite the fact they were willing to fight for her in the first place and she obviously felt very lonely and like she didn't belong.
Whenever Pinenose is around it always feels like she deflects those issues rather than addressing them.
Which, I mean, isn't abusive or awful as sin or anything, but it's not the best way to handle the situation.
TBH I think how Violetkit was treated in ShadowClan was really cruel considering that they were willing to fight for her in the first place but now that they had a 'prophecy cat' then basically just shoved her to the side and forgot about her. Which is really stupid because it makes ShadowClan seem like they only wanted her to be included in the prophecy. Even Needletail tells Alderheart (I think it's her and him at least) that everyone loves her now because she brought part of the prophecy home.
