Personally, I don't feel sorry for Bumblestripe because he's too obsessive for Dovewing to respect her. Bumblestripe is always very clingy around her, and he even acted like Ashfur 2.0 when Dovewing said she doesn't share the same feelings as he does for her. Rosepetal and Cinderheart both told her not to trample all over Bumblestripe's heart, but they don't realize how much Dovewing needs her space. I mean, yes, they're right, it is not a crime to have feelings for Dovewing, but it's also not a crime for Dovewing to want time to herself and say no to him. Sure, Dovewing was rude, but others should really look at the fact that whenever she is rude it's because Bumblestripe always pads after her and never bothers to give her own space, the only time Dovewing can really be herself and think to herself. I'm not exactly sure why people are angry with Dovewing for not having feelings for Bumblestripe. She was wrong to string him along, but it's been said that Dovewing broke up with him because she knew it was wrong. And can I remind you that Bumblestripe was especially freaky when he whispered into Dovewing's ear about having kits? Like, I can't say I really blame Dovewing there, she even scooted away from him and felt uncomfortable.

I used to, but then he started getting a little obsessive, and then his comment about how good his and Dovewing's kits would look when they weren't even confirmed mates made me lose a lot of respect for him.

I like Bumblestripe, just maybe would like him more if he weren't all clingy to Dovewing, and hadn't said about wanting to have kits in the future.
I think he was a good apprentice and warrior though.

Heck no. Dovewing didn't do anything wrong by telling him she wasn't interested. In fact, she did the right thing by not leading him on.

The Erins haven't really been keeping hold of their word though, plus they seem to change their minds a lot, so I wouldn't stick too close to that fact if I were you. This goes with everything they have said about the cats. |

It's actually making me mad that no one else likes Bumblestripe.
His father doesn't interact with him much or at all (from what we've seen) and neither he or Blossomfall get praise from Graystripe (and also Millie as far as anyone is concerned)
His sister could have almost died a few times as a kit and the tree accident left her permanently damaged (and the tree accident possibly put more attention on Briarlight than it did Blossomfall and Bumblestripe for the warrior ceremony).
Now his mother doesn't seem to care or notice him and Blossomfall anymore. He was just as much pushed aside as Blossomfall was, only difference is is that Blossomfall was more emotional upfront about it. We don't know how Bumblestripe reacted or how he feels about it.
I've seen this headcanon said before on the old forums, but what if Bumblestripe reached out to Dovewing so much was because he felt like he had no one else? Blossomfall was in the same boat he was and she coped by acting out to get attention. Perhaps his coping mechanism was to try and form a relationship with someone so he wouldn't be lonely. And when he took things too far, he felt upset (both at himself and at Dovewing because he doesn't know how to handle other people well).
