The reason why Sol took over ShadowClan is because Tawnypelt was in it, thus the Clan had a few refugees who could come to ThunderClan and take back their territory.
I think it's Rowanstar's personality that made the Erins choose ShadowClan to be chased out in A Vision of Shadows.

First of all, it's about author's choice. Why they picked ShadowClan to get run over by rogues three times. In Power of Three, I think ShadowClan was picked because there was a character we knew already in there. That character could have kits and those kits, with half-ThunderClan blood, could go to ThunderClan when their Clan falls. Then, those characters could help out main characters restore the Clan. In A Vision of Shadows, I think the Erins wanted a leader who would do the things they wanted them to do without seeming out of character. Bramblestar wouldn't, Mistystar wouldn't, and Onestar wouldn't. The Erins probably didn't want to kill any of these leaders off-screen. What about the new ShadowClan leader, Rowanstar? |
