When she was 11 though, Alice met someone who was not part of the group of assassins and learned what life should really be like. Where the weak were cared for by the strong, not killed off. They talked for about 2 years where Alice learned everything she should have grown up knowing before the girl disappeared.
Adolescence: When she reached the age of 13, Alice's training really picked up and the punishments were harsher, each year both got worse. She has been cut before as punishment and left without food for a week before too for not meeting their standards in physical ability. She is 17 now, which is still considered an Adolescent and she is nearing the end of her training.

Coming of Age: Alice 'grew up' in the eyes of the council when she hit 13 years of age. That was when their ideals were pushed the most into their heads and the way of life of the assassins was opening up to them.
Evolution: Alice has learned a lot of things within her life. First it was the original ideals she was supposed to learn, and then to what life should be like. Then wanting to kill herself to get other of her situation. Which was either die in a court or be killed by the assassins in whatever horrible way they can imagine.
