ok this is going to seem so petty and small but w/e
a couple years ago, in maybe 6th grade, i tried being a vegetarian. my family kinda laughed it off bc they didnt think i had the discipline or the willpower, and they were right, i gave up after 3 days, crumbling at the first chance of pepperoni pizza.
now i'm in sophomore year, and i've been toying with the idea of trying it again on and off over the past few years. problem is, it's pretty much my dad and i now, and he would NEVER be able to give up meat. doesn't have any interest in trying, and when i told him last weekend i want to give it another shot, he was supportive, but a little miffed that he'd have to buy stuff for both of us. i could tell he didn't believe that i'd be able to do it, but at least he kept it to himself.
i told my sister yesterday and she laughed it off as well. but today when i came home my grandparents greeted me and said they were making burgers, and they were assuming that i wanted one.
1, i feel bad turning down food from my grandparents, because they really really love taking care of anything i need. like seriously, whenever i say, "nah i can do it myself" i always feel bad. they offer me rides to school, to cook, really anything, and i always feel bad turning them down, even if i have every right and am supposed to (my dad reeaally doesn't want them driving me to school bc lets be honest, waking up 75 year olds at 6:45 in the morning is kind of rude, even if they insist it's okay.) 2, my grandfather's burgers are one of the greatest tasting things on this earth.
seriously, when i first started doing this, i said to myself the hardest thing to give up would be chicken parmesan and his burgers. THEY. ARE. HEAVENLY.
so i realllly didn't want to turn him down, but i did. and im really happy and proud because if i can say no to those burgers i can say no to anything.

Giving up things you love is not an easy thing to do. I had to give up a lot of food I loved for a while because of certain reasons, and boy was that hard when everyone in my house was still eating those things. It was awful, but I stuck through it.
Congrats on being able to say no to those burgers Eclipse! I wish you luck on becoming vegetarian! C: You can do it! Oh hey, X! I didn't know you were online! what am I saying I've been stalking your posts I can tell when you're online
