i hate Skyclan. the erins should NEVER have made it and put it in the books (starting with firestar's SE) Skyclan and modern Skyclan and ESPECIALLY THE EVILS THAT ARE CLEAR SKY AND STAR FLOWER. should NEVER have been made.

I don't really have an opinion on them, but it's starting to annoy me how weak they are. They are always falling apart and needing help. I feel like at this point if they can't stay together then to hell with them. The Clans cant keep saving their behinds over and over again

SkyClan is my favorite clan. The only downside is that I don't like that they have become really weak in Modern SkyClan. Though, I think they have the ability to become strong again.

I was always sort of bothered by the fact that skyclan was stuck in last minute, so it seemed unrealistic that everyone would forget about them. It also seems like skyclan was in Firestar's quest and then not talked about at all for like 4 arcs.

I feel like the Erin's just stuck Skyclan in to make the plot interesting.

I'm going to echo some of the sentiments on here and say, while I like Skyclan as characters, I think they were just handled poorly.
Like someone said, it feels like they were stuck in last-minute, and some of the things the modern version has done don't really make sense (living in isolation, daylight warriors etc.). I know they are trying to adapt their specific situation, but it still goes against everything the other books do with the four clans.
I feel like there is really no reason for them to be driven out (either time). Why couldn't Twolegplace be built near them instead of on top of them? It's better than introducing them the way they were (almost out of nowhere, with not a lot of information on their ancient origins). In fact, I know someone did a fanfiction on this (Firepaw of Skyclan) and it turned out to be very good.
It's like they introduce the new characters in such a way that it's difficult to form an attachment them, but at the same time, since there is a lack of information, it encourages readers to form their own stories and experiment with them… Maybe that was the Erins’ intentions…
Anyway, I feel like Skyclan would have been better if the books had been in chronological order, or we could have at least seen more of their ancient history. But they aren't, so there's just a blank gap with almost random cats that seemingly the other Clans have filled…

[ ✎ I honestly think the SkyClan hate is exaggerated and stupid. They're "weak" because of the broken faith and the lack of taking the code seriously. It started with Cloudstar and it's obvious that there is still a weak bond between them and StarClan given how the code is bent and twisted. The cats disbanded not because it was impossible to fight the rats, but they gave up on their ancestors. They have only been driven out three times, while ShadowClan has been taken over four times, WindClan driven out once and almost twice. Why not give WindClan and ShadowClan as much crap as people give SkyClan? I actually like SkyClan and I find their journey to the lake reminiscent of TNP (which is one of my favorite arcs). However, we see more of the issues with it compared to the four, where they could rely on each other. SkyClan only has themselves and can't ask others for help.]

Them being unable to defeat the rats had nothing to do with their ancestors… They were losing cats, several were choosing to leave, many were weak and injured, and it was stated that no one was having more kits… Not to mention that it was stated at the time that the gorge couldn't fit their needs… They disbanded because it was either that or die…
And I guess it's less that Skyclan was driven out rather than that's one of the few things we know about them… It's true being driven out happens to the Clans, but two of Skyclan’s arcs center around that, so it's clear it's much more of a problem… I feel like it wouldn't be as annoying if that wasn't one of the few things we knew…

[ ✎ You'd think instead of disbanding, they'd move or find another solution if it wasn't a lack of faith.]

I really don't like them... I don't despise them with all my heart or anything, but I just don't see their relevance in the series...

Honestly I see SkyClan as sort of an unnecessary plot filler. Erin Hunter attempted to make the readers want to know more about SkyClan - and maybe even somehow feel sorry for them for being driven out. (Excluding Cloudstar's reasons.) Instead, for a lot of the fanbase it seems like (including myself), there's not really any interest in SkyClan. So far not much of their history has been revealed, and, like Clear Sky (later known simply as Sky) - SkyClan's first leader - they didn't follow the warrior code as strongly as the other Clans. Honestly in the Dawn of the Clans series, if Clear Sky had simply been killes off late into the series, I would have been fine with it. The fact the other Clans don't remember them (either they left the forest many generations ago, or the other Clans decided not to teach their existence to future generations of kits, or both), and the fact that they mistreat the warrior code, makes me ask this: are they meant to survive? And are they a "real Clan" and should be a part of the series? I don't know. Truth be told, they were introduced FAR too late into the series for most fans to even think twice about them and care for them as much as the four. And many cat generations from now, SkyClan may once again be forgotten. This fact - and the fact that SkyClan is shown to be weak - almost proves that SkyClan may have been doomed to failure from the start. What do I think of SkyClan? I view them as a long-forgotteb Clan that should have stayed out of memory and should have never been mentioned. (I can't even think of a way in which they COULD HAVE been introduced earlier on.) Do I dislike them? Not really. I am more .. meh. But I do like them enough that I am writing the beginning of a draft of a fan based warrior novel about a warrior who died at the lake (he was a member of the 4 Clans) and was resurrected in SkyClan. However, some part of him felt empty inside and he set out on a journey to find the four Clans. That is again another part of me in which how I feel. I sort of like SkyClan in some way, but if I had to choose between them and the four, I'd always go for the four. Maybe it is because [we] "grew up" reading the warrior series that exclusively involved the four Clans, and when they introduced that "fifth element", it was just a bit too late for most people to go, "SkyClan? What is this SkyClan? I must know more about them!" Even if they include SkyClan in other books, I doubt that most of the fanbase will take them seriously. In all occasions, they have been portrayed as weak, disloyal, and their "system" fractured. I honestly cannot fathom how Erin Hunter could make SkyClan "great again." Sorry for the LONG response, btw!

I really like SkyClan.. honestly I just find the other Clans so boring now. Border fights, prey-stealing, battles over something ridiculous, and here is SkyClan just trying to survive in the unknown.
