Peachdapple gave a knowing look as Lavendersky called for an announcement. It certainly was overdue, with how long Spiderpaw had trained. She gave a small purr.

Lavendersky purred softly as she tipped her head to Spiderpaw. "Good enough? Spiderpaw, you might not do so well with your talking skills, but you have been out pacing me in the medicine den for a long time now." She meowed as she turned towards the Moonstone.

The praise from his mentor swelled Spiderpaw with pride. That's all he wanted. To be a good medicine cat. A master of herbs. He'd live by their code and prove to everyone he deserved to walk in equal ranks with the other medicine cats around him. Spiderpaw kneaded the ground with excitement.

Aspenfall gave Spiderpaw a nod of approval from his place next to Peachdapple. He remembered the day he earned his full medicine cat name fondly, and he was certain that the SkyClan apprentice lived up to Lavendersky's praise.

Lavendersky sniffed and turned back to the Moonstone, giving a small nod in thought. "I, Lavendersky, medicine cat of Skyclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of a medicine cat, and with your help he will serve his Clan for many moons. Spiderpaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?" She asked as she turned towards him.

Spiderpaw swelled with pride with every word out of Lavendersky's mouth. He did it. He was becoming a full medicine cat! He proved himself trustworthy to heal the Clan. He gave Lavendersky a strong nod. "I swear, Lavendersky. I won't let StarClan or SkyClan down!"

Lavendersky gave a soft snicker at his enthusiasm, knowing he had waited a long time for this. "Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your true name as a medicine cat. Spiderpaw, from this moment you will be known as Spiderbite. StarClan honors your honesty, dedication, and wisdom, and we welcome you as a full medicine cat of Skyclan." She meowed, stepping forward and resting her muzzle on his head.

Spiderbite lifted his head as high as he could. Spiderbite, he repeated the name in his mind. He like it, because he could heal spider bites, and he felt it was a tough name. Cats who heard his name would know he wouldn't be some push over. Spiderbite stepped forward and pressed his nose to Lavendersky's. "Thank you so much, Lavendersky."

Peachdapple purred warmly as the tom received his name. “Congratulations, Spiderbite. May many moons of healing be before you.” She congratulated.
Opalmist nodded with agreement, happy to see the tom so happy as well.

Spiderbite actually chuckled at the words from his mentor. He lifted his head higher, never ashamed of his sharp tongue. He then looked to each of the other medicine cats. Peachdapple, wise and kind. Aspenfall, friendly and adventurous. Snowdance, patient and kind. Opalmist, steady and gentle. Specklecreek, loyal and coy. Eclipsesky, dedicated and true, and Dawnshadow, curious and soft. He finally stood equal with these great cats. Spiderbite's gaze lingered to the moonstone and he took a deep breath of anticipation. He met with StarClan before, but tonight, he would meet them as a full medicine cat and see if he earned their approval. I'm dedicated to this, he silently prayed. The thought of StarClan rejecting him scared him. I swear it.

"Of course, dear." Peachdapple nodded, looking at Mousepaw for a few more moments before the Thunderclan medicine cat approached the Moonstone and turned to look back at the other medicine cats. She looked at Spiderbite as she mewed.
"Well. What a way to start a gathering. Spiderbite's first visit with Starclan with his full name. While the moon is still up, we should get to the usual ceremony. May Starclan be with us all, tonight." She nodded.
Opalmist approached the Moonstone quietly, a part of her always hoping that maybe she would just dream, or be given good signs rather than omens or other signs that made her stomach curl.

Dawnshadow congratulated Spiderbite, glad the Tom had finally earned his name. He more than deserved it. She glanced towards Eclipsesky for a long moment before moving to settle down infront of the Moonstone. Hopefully Starclan would show something good tonight.

Spiderbite ended up licking his chest a few times, both proud and slightly embarrassed that his idols all congratulated him. With a grateful look to Lavendersky, Spiderbite padded up beside her to lay next to her next to the moonstone. He watched the stone with eyes of wonder. StarClan...he hoped they accepted him.

Peachdapple settled down before the Moonstone. Starclan, she had been doing this for so long, she even had a particular spot where she liked to rest her muzzle upon the stone. She closed her eyes, pressing forwards to touch her nose to the stone. In an instant, the gentle noises of Mothermouth went silent. Her body tensed up, and she let her eyes split open, expecting to see the vast swath of Starclan.
Instead... darkness stretched before her, chilling and cold, and she felt her heart drop to her stomach as she realized this was not going to be a warm and hopeful greeting of her ancestors. She knew a bad omen when she saw one, and this was going to be one of them. She took a deep breath, preparing herself for whatever she was being shown.
Opalmist hesitated, but she slowly approached the Moonstone, laying down and staring at it, before she took a breath and gently touched her nose to it.

Eclipsesky dipped his head to the other medicine cats, wishing them a quick "Sweet Dreams" before he pressed his nose to the moonstone and fell asleep.
Eclipsesky opened his eyes to the usual landscape of Starclan, his heart clenched when he saw who was standing there waiting for him. Surely, his mentor must be very disappointed in him for his recent mistakes. "Berrywatcher, nice to see you again."

Berrywatcher sat before Eclipsesky with a slight hunch in his back. His ears were tilted away and a graven expression burdened his face. He watched Eclipsesky, remaining silent.

Opalmist awoke to nothing but the sight of stone towering around her. Cliffs with high peaks encircling her, as if she had fallen into a hollow. She felt a wave of guilt so powerful that it nearly swept her off her paws. Beyond that, the feeling of being watched burned into her pelt. She looked up, heart racing as she could make out the piercing gaze of a cat atop the cliffs. Icy blue, with a glaze upon them that made them glow like silvered clouds in the sky. She felt her heart ache as she recognized the eyes immediately, but horrifyingly, it was the blood that dripped from the cat's jaws, and that dripped down the side of the cliff towards her that truly made her fur bristle.
There, she could see Echowing, her daughter. The raw anger and misery that bled from her as she growled down at Opalmist. Whispers began to echo around her, desperate pleas, shouts of betrayal, calling her a liar, a traitor, why did she do this? What had she done? Her fault, her choice, her fault!
"Stop!" She whispered. "Please, I... Why are you showing me her? Please! Echowing has nothing to do with what I... my choices, my actions... Please!" She cried, panicked and drowned out from the harsh shouts around her, no way out of the towering cliffs that trapped her, and the dripping of blood from her daughter above.

Dawnshadow settled down before the moonstone. She touched her nose to it and let darkness envelope her. When she opened her eyes she expected to wake up in Starclan but instead she woke to the cries of her clan mates. Everything was coming in flashes. Screams. Snapping jaws. Howls. The smell of blood.

Eclipsesky looked down at his paws, consumed with guilt as his mentor looked down on him. "I'm sorry Berrywatcher, I know I've failed you. I wasted all those moons you spent training on me for a failure of a medicine cat. You should have trained someone more worthy than me."
