I've had that problem before. I kept my laptop on a flat desk (I used to have it on my lap) and the problem stopped since then. Though, I am using a Dell and those laptops aren't so great.

BrUH i have the same one i think (is it a dell Inspiron??) & this used to happen all the heckin time u can look up "[computer brand] plugged in not charging" and there'll probably be some kind of solution, that's how i've fixed mine before (I just can't remember what exactly I did) or there could be a short in your charger which is :////

Mine's like that, but that's because it's four and a half years old and the battery's just dead is all. It's old enough though - and has an overheating issue that already killed one hard drive - that it's not worth replacing the battery at this point; I'd rather get a new laptop. Probably for Black Friday, when they're cheaper.
I hate not even being able to take it across the room without it turning off :/
