A pale blue sky is lost to the thick branches of towering pines, their needles so dark in color they appear to be almost black. A disturbance among the branches is at fault to a clumsy squirrel who's lost a walnut to the ground waiting below. It hits hard, as the earth is cooling in preparations for winter, but there is still time. Surprisingly the forest floor is quite barren of many shrubs and foliage but one must remember the sunlight has been blocked for some time by the trees themselves. The lack of life would normally bring on dread but the silence is eerily calming.
There's a stream babbling nearby, it doesn't worry about when autumn will end for its just fast enough to escape being frozen over. Not far off from the water is a collection of large boulders which are being leaned upon by a slender figure. One hand is tucked beneath an elbow while the other sticks out, as if waiting for something to be placed within the palm. She breaths out a slow sigh, her frosted green eyes concentrated on nothing. A light breeze sifts through her short black hair, at this she finally breaks her concentration.
Those green eyes promptly roll in a somewhat annoyed expression, then close. "I know you're there. No sense in hiding." She speaks with a blatant tone. Her eyes open again just in time to notice a browned leaf being swept away in the stream. Only pines surrounded the area though, the leaf comes from somewhere foreign. This easily unnoticed sign seems to bother the female, her brows knitting together. She turns her head upstream - as if she could see for miles to somehow get a glimpse of where the foliage came from.
