Due to the recent issues, I've taken it upon myself to create what I like to call a safety net for this community in the form of an alternate proboards site.
Now, let's get something clear right away. I am not suggesting that we migrate to this site. I'm not suggesting we populate it and make it a second active site. It doesn't exist to rival the WCRPF, but to support this community. Please do not assume I'm trying to kill this site. I would never try and do that.
I created this site in case the crap hits the fan and something happens to this site. It could be something as simple as a technical issue or as major as tomo shutting down OTD again, or perhaps the whole forums if things get really bad. While I'm sure a lot of you have alternate ways to contact your forum friends, not everyone does, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see this community survive for as long as possible.
The site (link in my signature) is fully set up and ready to go at a moment's notice, whether it be in the event of a troll attack, a mechanical issue here, or perhaps a complete forum failure. I hope we never reach the point where we need to abandon this site for there. If we do, I hope it's temporary, but as the saying goes it's better to be safe than sorry. We can't say for certainty that a bad thing isn't going to happen to this site, and I want to make sure we all have a place to go in case something bad happens.
I'm not asking you to actively post on the site. Hell, I'm not even asking you to make an account. Not unless you want to. Just save the link. Bookmark it, keep it in a word document, whatever. Just keep it, so that if the virtual crap hits the rotor blades you're not stuck without a way to be a part of this community. It's there not to rival this site, but just in case. Because you never know. Anything can happen, and we must be ready for it if we wish for this community to survive. I trust the staff of this site to continue supporting it as they are, but not even they can stop everything.
