OK WHAT THE HECK!
Fun fact, when I was first reading Power of Three in middle school, Eclipse was already checked out by some other person, so I just skipped straight from Outcast to Long Shadows. This week was the first I read of it.
I don't understand how there was literally no discussion between the Clans after that ridiculous battle! Yeah I'm sure every Clan was upset that Firestar kept butting into everyone's problems, but that is no reason for WindClan and RiverClan to band together and try and destroy them! Especially since all ThunderClan did was (annoyingly) make things better. And all the Clan's are complete hypocrites for the whole "we can't accept Non-Clan cats". Look at the loyalty problems WindClan had with Mudclaw, or Crowfeather running away to be with Leafpool, yet coming back and being accepted right away. Or RiverClan accepting Hawkfrost and Mothwing-didn't they learn their lesson when they MURDERED POOR STONEPELT!? And ShadowClan is just ridiculous (yes I understand ShadowClan fought on ThunderClan's side in this battle). Tawnypelt is actually ThunderClan, Russetfur was a loner, and so was Boulder!
Alright, but what bothers me the most is that ThunderClan never gets mad at the other Clans for this. They're more concerned about the sun vanishing, and they just kind of forget about it even though Squirrelflight was almost killed. At the next gathering I was hoping for an explanation, but no Blackstar and Sol decide to take the spotlight, and no one talks about the battle. If I were ThunderClan I'd want some explanation!
I'm into Sunrise and so far no one is bringing it up. Obviously I did not miss much when I first skipped Eclipse all those years ago.

WindClan's motive for starting that battle is hypocritical and practically nonexistent. It just irks me because WindClan had been in the exact same situation only a few years back. Without ThunderClan, they may have died off! And yet, Onestar's attacking them for the exact thing that had once saved his filthy pelt. He's essentially attacking ThunderClan for having a compassionate leader. I know that this is Onestar's defining character trait, but it still feels strange. It's almost like the Erins were so desperate to put the characters in a perilous situation that they forgot how motivations work.
I also don't get why RiverClan allied themselves with WindClan. They had no quarrel with ThunderClan; although Leopardstar was fed up with Firestar's interference. But going so far as to start a BATTLE over it? That's a very dumb decision, both morally and politically.

But going so far as to start a BATTLE over it? That's a very dumb decision, both morally and politically. According to one of the the guides (Battles of the clans I think) Riverclan supported Windclan because they agreed that Thunderclan had treated Windclan unfairly and nothing else is said. If we take this as canon one could conclude that there was perhaps some miscommunication between the clans. Its never made clear what made Windclan so angry because most of their supposed accusations fall flat and they were vague in the book. So perhaps Riverclan was just straight up lied to by Windclan to ensure their support.

The whole battle was just ridiculous. If I were ThunderClan I would at least want the Clans to acknowledge it.
