”At this point, I believe it will be up to him if he wakes up or not.” Snowdance said, turning her gaze away from her patient to look at Spiderbite. Cliffheart’s coma did have her concerned, especially now that his injuries had started to heal. “With the state that he is now, I’m afraid that he isn’t strong enough to make the trip back to the SkyClan camp with you.” Spiderbite stamped his paw. "Then I'll carry him there." He ignored how his sharpness might have insulted the ShadowClan leader nearby. "This is Lavendersky, Lavendersky. She has one final request and he has to go." Spiderbite stomped over to Cliffheart. When he curled his lip, Cedarstar stood up, but Spiderbite paid him no mind. "I know your story," Spiderbite spat at the wounded warrior. "Lavendersky told me how you used to enjoy the darkness of the Dark Forest. The blood stained on your paws will never be washed away, but Lavendersky still loves you." Spiderbite fully bared his teeth, his fur prickling. "You may be choosing to not wake up, but that's a selfish way to act and is downright disrespectful to Snowdance's skills. You can wallwo in your own pity and darkness when you're dead, but right now, Lavendersky needs you, Cliffheart!" Cedarstar's pelt twitched at the gall this medicine cat had to speak to Cliffheart that way. He stood up. "Spiderbite, I think it's time you leave." Spiderbite snorted. He lifted his head to stand proud. "I'll drag him out of here myself if that's what it takes." I hate medicine cats, Cedarstar couldn't stop the thought. Spiderbite's 'better than thou' stance. His blatant disrespect and defiance of a clan leader's orders. Once, Cedarstar might have been impressed with Spiderbite's dedication to Lavendersky, but all he felt was disdain. Medicine cats were useless. He slowly stepped forward with his head lowered, his narrow gaze fixed on Spiderbite's stubborn amber eyes. He missed the way those amber eyes suddenly squinted at him. "I'll take that as an invitation to drag you straight back to SkyClan." He saw the change, but he hardly believed it. As terrified as Spiderbite should've felt that the ShadowClan leader was advancing on him with claws outstretched, all he felt was curious. The ginger patches in Cedarstar's pelt stained as red as blood. His eyes reversed in color. From green with amber flecks to amber with green flecks. Yet, the biggest change was his scars. The ugly, twisted marks were full of fur. It was like Cedarstar transformed into a different cat. How is that possible?"Wait." The weak voice was like a whisper in the night. Spiderbite and Cedarstar each turned. Cliffheart still laid in the nest, but his eyes were half open. He didn't look at any of them, but stared stagnantly at the moss of his nest. "I'll go," he said weakly. Spiderbite lifted his head in mild triumph, but he glanced side-long back at Cedarstar. Whoever that other cat had been had gone and Cedarstar was back to looking like himself. The Clan leader stepped gingerly up to Cliffheart. "Are you sure?" Cliffheart nodded slowly. He struggled to sit up and Spiderbite guessed his muscles were sore and stiff from lying there so long. Cliffheart finally med Cedarstar's gaze. "I'm sure."

Starrylight blinked in surprise as Cliffheart's soft voice rang up from the nearby nest. The she-cat's amber eyes wide as she turned to look at him.
Duskpaw shot to her feet from the other side of Palepaw's nest, looking at her mentor with wide eyes. "You're awake!" The resentment she had been feeling for her mentor seemed to drain away as she saw Cliffheart struggle to sit up. Only relief filled her chest as she grinned at him.

(We did have the patrol come back and Longpaw and Brittlefoot were reacting to that. Littlemoon approached Cardinalblaze to talk to him about it as well. I think they're just waiting for Spiderfang to get back again since I forgot Cedar went out in the first place xD")
Let me see if I can find the post before Cedarstar comes out.)

“Change of plans.” Brittlefoot murmured lightly. “We’ll sit vigil. I’ll take you out tomorrow for some hunting. I have a feeling that alot of the Clan will be struck hard by this.” He blinked, inwardly hoping Longpaw would never have to see him dead, to have to ever one day help find his body like Whorlpaw had to for Stormfury. Cardinalblaze gave Cherryvine space to move Stormfury, his eyes trailing to Littlemoon as the she-cat silently offered her assistance. The deputy gave a heavy yet appreciative look, stepping aside to speak to her. “I know it might be best to have hope with things like this, but…” He trailed off with a light breath. It was clear the deputy was exhausted, physically and emotionally, though he kept his voice steady and soft. “I’ll have to report everything. And I know everyone’s going to ask about it. I guess I’m glad we at least could find him, even if he’s with Starclan now.” Honeycrest gazed at Whorlpaw once more, before he mutely looked down at Stormfury. He eyed the nursery with a small sigh, knowing thw worst part was to come, when the kits realized their father was gone. “Cedarstar.” Spiderfang mewed bluntly as she pushed her way into the medicine den. She paused as she saw them gathered around Cliffheart, her orange eyes burning with grim disdain as she cleared her throat. “The patrol has returned…” Longpaw pulled his paws closer to himself and wrapped his skinny tail tightly around himself. The grief that swept from Cherryvine and Whorlpaw uneased him. It made him think of his father. Ratmask still didn't get up after hearing about Moonpetal's death. Longpaw looked away. Littlemoon offered him a sympathetic glance. "After you report, you should get some rest." Her blue gaze flickered down to Stormfury's body. "Cats shouldn't be asking after this. One look at him and we all know what happened. He died a hero."

One look at him and we all know what happened. He died a hero." Brittlefoot watched Longpaw for a moment, before his solemn gaze pointed back to Stormfury. A flicker of anger cut through his grief, that the tom had to suffer like that. That all of Shadowclan had been suffering. It made him feel useless knowing he couldn’t prevent it. He stood on shaky, slender legs, determined to not let Stormfury’s loss go in vain. Cardinalblaze looked tiredly at Littlemoon, though he forced himself to push that exhaustion away. A deputy was supposed to be steadfast, no matter what. He could push through, just as Falcontalon and Cloudscar would have. Her words were achingly tempting though. “I’ll have plenty of time to rest once I’m sure everything is as settled as it can be. Cedarstar… Shadowclan needs me to be avalaible no matter what, and I promised I’d do just that.” He blinked warmly at her. “Thank you. Er! For the concern, that is. Really, it’s very kind.” Looking somberly at Stormfury’s body, he drooped. “He was a Shadowclan Warrior, through and through. Absolutely a hero, but I just… someway, somehow, this could have been prevented.” He inwardly blamed himself. Had he chosen different patrols, made different choices, maybe Stormfury wouldn’t have had to rescue Raccoonmask in the first place. He pushed the poisonous thought down.

Hey, I'm new. If I get the time of day or anything wrong in my starter, just let me know.
Vipertooth | open to interaction ~Vipertooth was silent and still, watching the bush in front of her as it trembled with her soon to-be catch, her tail was hovering just above the ground. She crept forward in her crouch, eyes never leaving the bush, her ears were angled towards it. She was lucky - the wind was blowing a different direction, she wouldn't be scented, she just need to make sure she wasn't heard or seen before she had the catch. After a moment, she paused and could just make out the mouse scuttling on the pine needles that covered the floor, just on the other side of the bush. She suppressed a growl trying to rise in her throat and then pushed herself up with her hind legs, landing hard on the little brown body and she quickly nipped it's throat to kill it. She let out a satisfied growl and turned to make her way back to camp, tail swishing low behind her. As she pushed her way into the camp to drop her mouse on the fresh-kill pile, she glanced around to see what was going on. Her paws itched for another patrol, but she had been out by herself for a while already, and would feel better joining in with others.

Blossompaw struggled to her paws, forcing herself to not wince as the back of her legs pierced with the pain of the abrasion. Truly, of all the cats that had to find them it was one of the senior warriors. "Im fine," she murmured, shaking her shoulders to chase away the discomfort- vainly. "I was just a few mouse-lengths away from catching that rabbit and this root," she spat the last words, glaring at the root that Scorpionpaw and Lionscorch were standing on to look down at her. "Got in my way." Blinking away his worry, Lionscorch’s words softened into a more understanding humor. “Roots tend to do that right at the worst possible moment. Rabbits are tricky when you’re not specialized in hunting them like Windclan cats are. But, like my mother says, shake off the dust and stiff your muzzle, the hunt’s not over yet.” He offered, before he asked. “Do you need help getting back up? Waspflame sometimes looks like he swallowed a sour herb, but I promise he’s willing to help you.” He teased, though he knew how selfless the stern young Warrior could be. Waspflame lashed his tail and rolled his eyes, but didn’t say anything to refute it. Blossompaw had hardly glanced at the other warrior who was there. She was far too embarrassed and annoyed to make eye contact let alone to acknowledge his presence but when Lionscorch mentioned him, she couldn't help but snapping her eyes to the younger warrior. Wonder what has his fur in a bunch, she smarted silently, glancing over his tense body briefly. Granted the clan wasn't going through the jolliest of times but not everyone looked like that. Blossompaw shook her head at Lionscorch's offer and hauled herself on the nearest edge, ignoring the dirt the crumbled around her- or the flash of embarrassment as she felt the eyes of all three cats on her. She looked back to where the rabbit disappeared. "Do you... do you think its still there? I really dont want to go back to camp empty-pawed. I know Cedarstar will reprimand us anyways," she added quickly before Waspflame could interject. "But wouldnt it be worth at least trying again?" And give me a chance to redeem myself. Im not some wet-eared newbie who doesnt know what they are doing.

💜Hollyleaf💜)) "Vipertooth! There you are." Burninghope exclaimed as she sauntered her way towards the other she-cat. Her bright energy seemed a bit diminished from the vigil occurring for Stormfury, though she eyed the she-cat's catch and sighed with relief. "Good. Then there is still some prey running before it gets colder. Hey, I know you just went out, but do you want to come with me to assess some flood damage? Cardinalblaze wanted to get a good idea of how bad everything looks before he starts sending out normal patrols again. I can't go alone of course, with prey-maulers now running about." She huffed, before growing friendly once more. "Up for some damage control?" duskflower)) Lionscorch gave a small breath of relief, though he allowed Waspflame to finally get some words in as the young Warrior shook his head sharply. "It's going to have to still be there. Close enough to catch it. It'd be a waste of good prey if we just let your missed catch stay that way." "We won't go back empty-pawed." Lionscorch nodded in agreement with Waspflame, looking between Scorpionpaw and Blossompaw. "In fact, we're going to join you. That way we can catch this rabbit before it gets back over towards Windclan, and so you two won't get your whiskers split for sneaking out without a Warrior." His whiskers twitched as he gave a small chuckle, before he grew serious. "Use your nose. Which way did the rabbit run away from you?"

Vipertooth | w/Burninghope (Moonblazer)Vipertooth started at the sound of her name being called and turned to see her clanmate, Burninghope approaching her. She gave a nod of greeting to the other warrior, and glanced down at her catch as the other she-cat mentioned it. "It was a hard find," Vipertooth commented, her tone short. It was true. She was out almost all morning trying to hunt and all she had was a mouse to show for it. Of course, with the cold weather on its way, any catch was worth hunting for and she knew someone in the clan would be happy to have it. She glanced back at Burninghope at the question and nodded. "I was just thinking about wanting to go out again. I'd be happy to join you." she meowed and flicked her tail towards the camp entrance. "Lead the way."

Blossompaw stifled a hiss at the basicness of how the warriors were speaking to her. How old did they think she was? Within a moons time she would be able to pass all her battle assesments and within a moon or less after that could very well become the clan's newest warrior. Why were they talking to her like she was scatter-brained? Yet the two toms stood expectantly waiting- Waspflame's eyes stern while Lionscorch's patient and serious. A flash of anger flickered through her pelt as she turned away, swallowing her frustrations. There was no use arguing now since this had turned into a training session she didnt ask for. She pointed her muzzle to the half naked tangle of bushes the rabbit had plunged into to escape her claws. Now that she looked at it more closely, she could see the tuffs of fur it left at the small hole beneath them. Tiny clumps of fur clung to the twigs. Had she not tripped over the root, Blossompaw could have easily lost half her pelt in that. "It went that way." She sniffed the air, inching off the root cautiously to follow the scent of the prey. "It cant be too far. I can smell it almost as strong as the last time," she added, a bit of her anger morphing into excitement. She might have another chance!

Hazelblaze padded over to Burninghope and Vipertooth, with hope in her eyes. Her shoulder was barely giving her issues now, only a slight limp left behind from her injury. "Burninghope! Vipertooth! Snowdance gave me clearance to do some patrols! I was hoping I could join you both? I feel like a frog stuck in the mud doing nothing these past moons."

But, some prey is much better than no prey at all.” Stilling at Hazelblaze’s call, she brightened with delight as she exclaimed. “Oh, it’s great to see you up and about! Of course you can come with us!” She purred, before she trained her gaze out along the territory. She grimaced at how sodden everything was. Large puddles were everywhere, and while that was common for their marshy territory, it wasn’t good to see so much water still by the pine trees. She sighed. “This’ll take days to drain away. Let’s start with the deep marshes. It could be super dangerous if we don’t check how bad the mud is, and apprentices start getting stuck in it.”

If one of you can chase it into the other, then there’s no way you’ll lose it again.” Lionscorch glanced at Waspflame, relieved to see that the tom wasn’t bad at guidance, when he allowed that prickly shell to rear back. He nodded once at Blossompaw and Scorpionpaw. “You know what to do. We’ll be on the sides, in case the rabbit strays from both of you. Shadowclan needs prey that large.” He mewed firmly.

Vipertooth | w/Burninghope (Moonblazer) & Hazelblaze (Willow)Vipertooth greeted their other clanmate as she padded up, giving a sympathetic flick of her ear. She remembered back when she was an apprentice, ages ago, and had been out of her duties for a moon after hurting her leg pretty bad trying to climb a tree - she used to be such a show-off and it never panned out for her in the past. "I can imagine how restless you are," she commented to Hazelblaze. She followed Burninghope out of the camp, glad that she had found a way back out so quickly. She hated sitting in camp all day. "Good idea. We can't risk anyone getting hurt." she nodded, padding after her clanmates.

💜Hollyleaf💜 Willow))) Burninghope grimaced lightly, sympathy in her eyes as she glanced back at Hazelblaze. "It's awful, knowing she's the one who carried Stormfury back. I know though that she needed to be the one. Cardinalblaze isn't the kind to prevent her from doing what she needed to do, thank Starclan. As much as it must hurt." She took a long breath, shaking her head. "Watching Hiddendream mourn my father after the Great Fire was awful. I had no idea what to say, besides that I missed him so much too. And then losing Hiddendream... it's just been so awful." She rested her tail on Hazelblaze's shoulder. "Stormfury was awesome. I know he'll be remembered by all of us." She glanced at Vipertooth, grateful for the older she-cat's support. "Vipertooth's right. You must be restless, and all this talk will only make us more restless. Oh, by the way, if you see any weird items laying around, we can probably bring them back with us. They're probably Cardinalblaze's that got washed out of the stumps he collects them in." She snickered, knowing of the deputy's odd little tendency of collecting anything he could and hiding it around the territory.

Vipertooth | w/Burninghope (Moonblazer) & Hazelblaze (Willow)Vipertooth let out a long sigh at the discussion. It was a difficult time for ShadowClan and even more for the ones that were closest to those they'd lost. She glanced over at her companions and gave a short nod. "We have lost too much, too quickly." she meowed and her tail lashed once, like she was angry at the universe for what it was doing to them. "we will grieve until we go and join StarClan ourselves, but the clan will be strong, despite the loss and despair. All we can do is provide for our clanmates and be a shoulder to lean on when those that need it ask." she said. Vipertooth wasn't the best with this kind of stuff. Of course she felt the sadness and the pain of losing clanmates or watching her friends grieve around her - but a response was hard for her to come by. She was never sure what the right or wrong thing was to say and it could vary so much depending on which cat was expecting comfort. At Burninghope's last comment she flicked her ears and looked around the ground, confused. "Weird...things?" she asked.

Moonblazer/ 🎄tansypool🪿 Blossompaw nodded almost absently at the warrior's advice. She was itching to get to hunting. She stiffened her spine slightly, crouching down as silently as she could and beckoned Scorpionpaw towards her. "You heard what Waspflame said. I'll sniff it out and chase it to you." She barely waited for acknowledgement and slunk away, extra aware of the two pairs of eyes watching her squeeze through the naked brush. Beyond the undergrowth was some of the thicker oaks that resided on ShadowClan territory. The exact place a rabbit crossing our border would be,Blossompaw thought. She kept forward, careful not to brush against anything too loud as to not alert anything. As she crossed pass a particularly large, gnarled tree she spotted it. Feeding eargely on the fledgingly grass at the root of the tree, the same rabbit crouched, its side slightly facing Blossompaw. The apprentice knew exactly what to do. It wasnt going to get away twice. She slunk around the wide tree, cutting off its escape route and within a heartbeat there was silence. She looked intensly at the rabbit as she waited. It was oddly oblivious. Not for long though as just as it bent its head for another bite Blossompaw streaked out of her hiding place, hissing ferociously. The prey shot away and the two dived over the roots and dips again. It was heading right where Scorpionpaw was. They were gonna get it! Just one more- Then it curved again, deftly avoiding the waiting place of the other apprentice and forging up the slope- right to the place where she had tripped and where the two warriors were waiting. "Oh no you dont," Blossompaw growled breathily as she dug her claws deeper and pushed forward. She was not giving anyone the satisfaction of helping her take down this catch. Energy scorched through her and she bodied the rabbit, her claws deep in its rear as she brought it down with a swift bite.

(Also I forgot to drop Duskflower here! Im hoping any warrior could talk to her)
Flames flickered around her as Duskflower struggled forward, ducking her head to avoid the smoke but still desperately trying to get to the one place where the fire didnt seem to reach. Was that water ahead? the shadows, which she had always been protected by seemed to give no answer yet she forged on. She could hear commotion all around her. Screeches, cries, coughing, yowls. Duskflower tried to answer but each time she opened her mouth the flames seemed to burn hotter, the smoke curling around her stronger until she could barely breath. Her pawsteps became sluggish. Her eyesight was fading... no. No. No, she couldnt go like this but there didnt seem to be no way out...
With a start, Duskflower woke. The dream was slightly different each time, but the main points were always the same. The fire that not too long ago raged through ShadowClan's beloved territory had passed. She looked around. No orange. No smoke. Yet the stench of both seemed to fill the young warrior's nostrils and with a shudder she knew very well she wouldnt forget that terrible night anytime soon.
Ducking out of her nest and into the camp clearing, Duskflower stretched and eyed the remaining cats in camp. Did they have nightmares about the fire too? No one seems to talk about it... maybe I'm the only weak one here.

“Oh yes. Shiny things, feathers, odd stuff that twolegs drop. If he likes the look of it, he’ll pick it right up and hide it away.” Burninghope explained. “Goldberry does the same thing. Crystalsight too, though not as much as the other two. I guess it runs in that blood…” Burninghope quieted, knowing that Cardinalblaze’s relation to Goldberry was a very touchy subject, and that Falcontalon was who the deputy saw as his father. She quickly continued. “Maybe it’ll cheer him up if we find his stuff. He’s been exhausting himself helping all of the Clan settle back into camp.”

“There you go.” Lionscorch praised with a hint of an impressed gaze. He eyed the rabbit now dead in Blossompaw’s claws, and nodded. “The Clan will be in good spirits seeing this. Well done, both of you.”

Vipertooth | w/Burninghope (Moonblazer) & Hazelblaze (Willow)"Okay, I'll be sure to keep an eye out." Vipertooth said as they continued on the way. Certain spots of the ground were wetter than usual and she was pausing every few steps to shake the mud and grit out of her claws. The marshy ground was nothing new to her, but this much water was making her feel like a fish. As much as she had wanted to be out of camp again, she didn't love being back in the river of ShadowClan. She was counting the days until their territory was back to normal, if that ever happened. They had been hit with tragedy after tragedy recently, she hoped things stayed quiet for a while to come.

Hazelblaze yelped as she stepped into a rather deep puddle of mud. She steadied herself quickly but grimaced at the amount of mud covering her front legs. "You weren't joking about it being dangerous. That could have swallowed up a whole apprentice! Larger patrols would probably be safer for a while, especially if the younger cats are joining in."

“I’m telling you, getting a good survey of the territory was a pretty smart idea on Cardinalblaze’s part.” Burninghope grimaced at Hazelblaze nearly slipping into the mud. She mewed. “Mud’s dangerous right now, so we’ll try and see if the apprentices can avoid coming this way on their patrols. I’m guessing Carrionplace will be alot less muddy, the ground’s higher there.” She mewed thoughtfully. Looking at Vipertooth, she then nodded.
“Any mud holes on your side? Or do you see a clearer path for us to take?”

Vipertooth | w/Burninghope (Moonblazer) & Hazelblaze (Willow)Vipertooth surveyed the ground ahead of her, looking for the dryer spots, eyes narrowed slightly. A few paces ahead she could see there was a patch of ground that was flanked by two larger pools but the way forward seemed to stay more marshy than actually deep. At least, as far as she could tell - it was hard to tell until they got closer. She glanced back at the other two cats and pointed forward with her tail. "This way looks clear," she said. "But let's go slower, it could get messy further on." she suggested.
