Snowdance placed her tail tip on the elder’s shoulder, “The kits love those stories. And don’t tell me you don’t enjoy telling them.” She said, chuckling, “You’ve earned your rest, Closesky. You should enjoy it.”

“She wants to give me a bath and for me to settle down in the nursery.” Strikekit spoke. “I’m almost 6 moons and I don’t need to settle down or take baths.” He looked at the other kit.
“No he’s not.” Hollowpool agreed. “But I suppose he’s doing well so far, I guess it’ll take awhile to really get used to him.”

(Bet I gotchu.) "You seem pretty wound up." Cardinalblaze had caught the tail end of Cedarstar's quarrel with Snowdance. He didn't know what the argument had been about, but he did know when Cedarstar was thinking and fretting about something. The golden and ginger tom approached the leader with a tilt of his head. "Are...you alright, Cedarstar?" He asked. (Thanks!) Cedarstar turned his head when Cardinalblaze came up. He did his best to keep his fur flat, was it that obvious that Snowdance got to him? He let his paw fall to the ground, and didn't reply to his former apprentice right away. Cardinalblaze didn't need to hear his frustrations. He was the leader of the Clan, he shouldn't vent to his warriors. "Snowdance is just having trouble with Ashrock, that's all."

“Oh uh sure.” Ferretclaw nodded, sitting down next to her. “I thought you might like a frog, I know you hunted last night so I figured you’d be hungry.” He started to ramble a little.

"I do enjoy telling them." Closesky admitted with a sigh. "But I also enjoyed training the apprentices. I watch them from the elder's den practicing their moves and I just want to help them get better, but it's up to their mentors to do such things." He looked at Snowdance, flicking his ear. "I've been working hard as a warrior all my life, I don't know how to rest. Is that strange?"
"You're going to be an apprentice soon." A bit of envy crept in Longkit's eyes. "I wish I were six moons."
Frogleap nodded in agreement. "He was always so laid back as a warrior." He glanced at his mate. "I remember going on a patrol with him. He was great at leading one, a complete natural, but when he became deputy, it changed. Did you notice that?"

Strikekit nodded. “You’ll get there soon. Then we can patrol together!” He spoke excitedly. “And I’ll teach you all the best battle moves.” He promised his friend.
Hollowpool nodded. “It’s like his lost his confidence.” She spoke. “I would think being Northstar’s paw chosen successor would make anyone more confident.”

“I’m sure the apprentices wouldn’t mind a few pointers. I bet if you talk to their mentors, you could probably organize a training exercise for all of them.” Snowdance suggested, starting to gather the herbs together.
Foxshadow gave him a smile, “Starving.” She purred, taking a bite before passing it over to Ferretclaw. “I was so tired when I got back I didn’t think about eating before going to sleep.”

"Not soon enough," Longkit chuckled, but he perked up at what Strikekit said. "Really? You'd patrol with me?"
"Maybe the pressure of being deputy and Northstar's successor did that?" Frogleap shrugged lightly. "I know I wouldn't want to follow in her pawsteps."
"You really think so?" Closesky tilted his head at the thought. He didn't want to step on any paws by making a few pointers to the apprentices. He was an elder now and he didn't think the younger cats would want him barging in on their time.

“Of course!” Strikekit nodded. “We’re friends right?” He asked him.
Hollowpool nodded. “That’s probably it then. I wouldn’t want to follow her either.” She sighed. “But he has to be his own type of leader and not Northstar.”

Cardinalblaze offered with a hint of understanding, before he moved to sit down, pulling his tail around himself, twitching it as he usually did. "Ashrock is certainly a pawful, I would assume. I can only imagine how long Snowdance has been able to tolerate him." He chuckled, though it was not so much humorous as it was empathetic.

Strikekit hurried away from Russetshade. “Can’t catch me!” He yowled, enjoying giving her trouble. He hurried to try and hide in the elders den. Hollowpool groomed her ‘injured’ leg. It was all healed by now and she was just working on making sure it was at full strength. She looked up at Frogleap approached. (They’re mates now right?) Oakstalk looked for Honeypaw, deciding to run him through the paces today. (Okay, now I can do this one, I gotchu Fox XD) Honeypaw padded towards Oakstalk, his face relaying his clear thoughts on the prospect of training. As much as he enjoyed learning and becoming a more skilled warrior, it was no secret that he and Oakstalk were...more akin to water and oil. He liked to believe he was more of the water. Oakstalk seemed more oily, with fur like that. Starclan, he was getting off track. Giving his best attempt at a greeting, he mused. "Are you going to take me out, Oakstalk? I'm dying to see what you have in store for my little paws."

“I’m sure the apprentices would love to have advice from one of ShadowClan’s greatest warriors.” Snowdance purred, giving him a light nudge. “Thank you for coming to check on me, Closesky.” She said, sighing, “I shouldn’t of let myself get so angry.”
Foxshadow nodded in agreement as she took another bite of prey, “The only thing I could think of was my nice, soft nest.” She purred, “I think I just flopped into it, didn’t even bother to get comfortable.”

“If it was.... I wouldn’t be telling you,” Opalmist looked at him frowning a bit shaking her head moving to sit her tail curling over her paws her eyes trained on him.
Owlshadow couldn’t help but purr as she walked with her mate a pure look of happiness show on her face. — Songbreeze smiled a bit nuzzling him softly, “Everything will be ok. I can’t wait to meet our little ones,” she purred happily her gaze trailed to her belly.
Crystalpaw lifted her head, “Coalpaw? What are you doing?” She asked him tilting her head moving over towards him.

"Yeah!" Longkit replied quickly. Honestly, having to spend the leafbare in the elder's den, he didn't get to play much with the other kits. He didn't think some of them noticed him. "Of course we're friends!"
"Would you be your own type of leader?" Frogleap asked suddenly, looking at his mate. "If you were following in Northstar's pawsteps?"
"His clunky paws are probably mashing all her herbs." Cedarstar mewed the thought bitterly, but the realization of it pricked his stomach. Ashrock wasn't the gentle type. Was that why Snowdance had to go gather more herbs? Because Ashrock ruined some of them. He wasn't sure the territory's stocks could handle that. If I have to ask the other Clans for herbs because of him... Cedarstar grit his teeth. "I'm sure Snowdance can handle him." She certainly could snap at Cedarstar why couldn't she snap at Ashrock as well?

"Everyone needs to vent, Snowdance, might as well do it with someone who understands." Closesky chuckled lightly. "I raised my kits, I know how stubborn they are."
Ashrock's pelt pricked at the way she stared at him. He glanced toward the den entrance, tail flicking uneasily. "Should I go get Snowdance or...or Cedarstar?"
Cliffheart slipped out into the territory, parting his lips to scent the air for prey.

“No. I’ll talk to Snowdance later besides it’s nothing of concern to you,” Opalmist flicked her tail tip as her tail curled around her paws.
Owlshadow flicked her ears listening to the forest around her. Scenting the air for anything nearby.

Ashrock snorted. "As if I would believe that." He muttered a few more things incoherently and went back to sorting the herbs, his large paws actually not damaging them. He swore Snowdance and Opalmist often disappeared to talk about them. Gossiping She-cats.
Cliffheart flicked his tail to get Owlshadow's attention. He motioned off, catching the scent of a lizard.

Lionscorch waved his tail excitedly as he looked at her. "Do you feel them moving in there?" Coalpaw's eyes brightened at the sight of his sister, her face bringing him comfort in his growing loneliness. "Just waitin' around, I guess! It's not so bad. I like helping Snowdance and Opalmist when they need it but...my paws are kind of big, and I can mess up the herbs sometimes...What about you? You've gotta be having tons of fun training, right? I'm really happy that you and Honeypaw are doing so great." He mewed, honest with his words, and a clear love in his voice.

I...Cedarstar, I know I'm the last cat in the clan to talk about the intricacies of family. I mean...aha, look at me, and my sisters. We quarreled for moons, after we...yeah. Quailfrost and Raccoonmask wouldn't even look at eachother for moons, and watching it all happen was just...miserable." He looked at his leader, his blue eyes soft with support. "You know I'm always going to have your back. You're important to me. Closesky rumbled with a purr and nodded to her, gently taking some of the borage into his mouth. Raising his kits alone had been no small task. Every day he wished Swiftleap had been there with him, but he couldn't be prouder of how his kits turned out...stubborn or not.

Opalmist rolled her eyes slightly before looking away letting out a small breath. Standing up she moved towards there nests moving to fix them a bit trying to take her mind off of everything. These feelings she kept having and glimpses of things she didn’t remember. A battle, a family, a clan. All of it familiar almost like a phantom lurking beside her but something she just couldn’t get ahold of.
Owlshadow looked at him moving closer before scenting the air her gaze trained forward nodding her head to him moving off to get into position. She would chase the lizard out of hiding to his waiting paws. — “Sometimes I do. Give me your paw,” Songbreeze purred lovingly as she giggled slightly reaching for his paw.
“I’m sure you can get the hang of it. Besides it will help steady your paws. You can use that in battle and in hunting Crystalpaw smiles happily.

But...that meant...Cedarstar flicked his tail. He was sure Ashrock hadn't learned his lesson, but herbs were at risk and now Coalpaw's training. Cardinalblaze was right, he could assign Coalpaw a new mentor, the Clan had plenty of warriors, but... That would crush Ashrock. Coalpaw was Ashrock's first apprentice and Ashrock had taken the tom out battle training before Coalpaw could even say 'hi'. Cedarstar let out a heavy sigh, his pelt prickling. Why should he care how Ashrock felt? His brother didn't consider anyone's feelings expect his own. Yet, he couldn't shake Cardinalblaze's words. Cedarstar's former apprentice did have a hard time with his own siblings and it made him wonder how Kinkfire felt about his and Ashrock's arguing...No he didn't, Kinkfire didn't care. She never cared. "I can't trust him." Cedarstar decided, his tone even and his gaze not even looking at Cardinalblaze. But others shouldn't be punished alongside him. Not Snowdance, not Opalmist, and not certainly not Coalpaw.

I don't know if Ashrock has done that, or if he does want another chance, but maybe him having nothing given to him but the duties of a mentor, maybe that can keep him in the kind of line you need to quell your concerns. I know the greatest punishment you could give me at this moment is taking Vixenpaw away from me...perhaps that might be an incentive you can use to keep him in line." The younger tom offered, before he looked at the medicine den. "Use it as a test too. If he does not react, then he never cared about Coalpaw, and he has proven that he is not worthy of mentorship or trust. If he does react, then one pawstep out of line will give him a painful punishment. This is your clan, you are our leader, and you earned that leadership without resorting to petty tactics. I'm no deputy, or advisor but...perhaps he needs to see that firsthand." He looked back at Cedarstar now.

Songbreeze smiles softly moving this paw to her belly. Lightly placing it down moving it gently to a spot she had felt movement before. Pausing for a moment before there came a kick, one...then another and another. Her eyes glowed happily and lovingly as she purred.
Crystalpaw looked at her brother, “I mean yeah I could if you want. Don’t want your skills to suffer because your mentor is a mouse brain,” she rolled her eyes a bit. — “I told you it’s none of your concern,” Opalmist rolled her eyes. She didn’t need to talk to him. It wasn’t his place.
Owlshadow waited till he was in position her focus trained as she crouched her claws sheathed not needing them in this moment. Her tail stilled as she took another few steps forward getting into position. Then rushing forward towards her targets the lizard took off rushing away from the predator unbeknown to it that another lay waiting.

"Woah..." Lionscorch's eyes widened, and a kittish delight crossed his features. "That's...that's really them, huh? I can fell them!...Hey there, little warriors. I know my paw must feel huge! I promise I'll use them to protect you." He mewed with a laugh, leaning towards her belly.
"Hey! He's...he's not a mousebrain, he's been doing a lot for Snowdance and...I dunno.." Coalpaw tried to defend the large tom in the medicine den, still wanting to see Ashrock for the warrior that had promised to teach him everything. He shook his head lightly. "Forget about that. Yeah, that'd be really great if you could show me some! How about a cool crouch swipe, or or a roll or a pounce!" He chattered excitedly.
