Cloudscar flicked his tail and dipped his head to the leader. He would be anxious to see who was chosen. Excusing himself, he padded towards the center of camp.

(I know, Jekyll, I'm waiting on Fox's signal for when to head to Fourtrees. The battle will be commencing when the Wind and Shadow patrols arrive, so (as Mr. Incredible would say) I've got time.)
Cedarstar jumped up on Clanrock and looked out toward the Clan. He was starting to get used to making announcements after having to do it so often lately. "Let all cats old enough to stalk their own prey gather beneath Clanrock!"

Shadedpine immediately looked up from where she had been grooming her fur. Standing, the she-cat moved closer before sitting down, her tail wrapping around her paws.
Ravenpaw exited the apprentices den at the summons and sat down on the outskirts of the forming group.

Cedarstar only nodded curtly. "I should get that patrol together." He looked up at the sky, the night growing long. "It's almost sunrise." Ashrock rolled his eyes. "Could've fooled me. Look, Coalpaw. I don't want Cedarstor-star to fail. He's my brother." Whorlpaw twitched her whiskers in amusement. "I think it would be neat to climb a tree. I've seen Cliffheart climb up the thorn walls to knock the snow off of them. I guess I would last longer in SkyClan than you would. Tumblepaw glanced at his mentor, mimicking his poise as best he could. When the weaker vulture hopped away, the young apprentice's heart skipped a beat. Perhaps he was over eager, perhaps he didn't want to miss the chance, it was hard to tell. He sprang into action, one bound of his long legs clearing him halfway to the bird before he bunched his muscles to spring onto the back of the vulture when it tried to take flight, his time trained skills from climbing in the twoleggedplace being just enough to get him up there. Yet, once on the big bird's back, Tumblepaw felt a moment of panic. He sunk his claws into the bird's feathers, ears flattening back when the vulture wasn't brought down by his weight. "And Honeypaw's mine. So don't call him names." Coalpaw barked. He looked at Ashrock, voice relaxing a bit as he mewed. "If you don't want him to fail, then why not tell him that? I bet he thinks you have no faith in him. It's gotta be lonely, when you can't really talk to your siblings." Coalpaw offered. "Fine by me. Be a Skyclan cat all you'd like. Windclan's far better anyway. And I guarantee you I can run faster than you ever could." Honeypaw rebounded with a smooth smirk. Goldberry widened his eyes at his apprentice's boldness and bravery. Even so, he could tell Tumblepaw did not expect the bird to be sturdy. He moved on instinct, eyes training on the Vulture's wing as he sprang and slammed his claws into it. His thicker body caused the screeching bird to fumble down under both of the toms. "Now! The neck, Tumblepaw!"

"We don't have anything to say to each other." Ashrock turned his head when he heard Cedarstar call the Clan together. He flicked his ear, curiosity leading him to peer outside the den.
Whorlpaw shook her head quickly. "Oh! No! I won't go to WindClan, too much open space for me! Where are the shadows to hide under? And the wind that blew across the moors?" She quieted down when she heard her father call the CLan together. She glanced lightly at Honeypaw. "I think I'm just better off in ShadowClan."
Tumblepaw grit his teeth to calm his racing heart and seize his focus. He lunged forward and bit the vulture's neck.

Coalpaw looked ready to argue, but the young tom kept quiet, hearing Cedarstar call the clan. He himself wondered who would go. Honeypaw glanced at Whorlpaw, keeping his snicker inside him, a little tense that he had almost let it out. He swallowed it down, steeling himself and murmuring in agreement. "Duh. ShadowClan's by far the more superior clan." He turned to look back up at his leader. Goldberry let out a growl as he struggled to hold the large bird down. He felt a rush of success, seeing Tumblepaw lunge accurately for the neck. The other vultures screeched and flapped off to the tops of the carrionpiles, crowing down to wait for the cats to move off.

"In a short while, I will be leading a patrol to Fourtrees to assist Lightningstar in chasing the Dark Forest out of ThunderClan." Cedarstar looked to each of his clanmates. "Of the volunteers, Lionscorch, Oakstalk, Shadedpine, Stormfury, and Scorchfire will be joining me."
Ashrock flattened his ears, trying to hide his disappointment.
Kinkfire breathed in relief that she wasn't going.
Scorchfire nodded curtly, sitting taller that he was chosen. Cliffheart nudged him. "Kick some Dark Forest tail for me." Scorchfire snickered in reply.

Tumblepaw grunted when the vulture landed back on the ground. He looked up at his mentor, the bird laying dead and feathers sticking out of his mouth. His eyes grew wide with awed excitement. "I did it!"

Lionscorch puffed his chest proudly, eyes blazing with challenge and readiness. Anything to get back at the Dark Forest, for what it had taken from his mate.
Goldberry beamed with pride, breath coming in light pants as he exclaimed. "You were a little quick to the pounce but you did do it! Tumblepaw, that was an excellent leap and bite. This will feed a lot of the clan." He praised. He fluffed his fur and ordered. "Let's pull this back towards the clan quickly, before the other vultures get curious and forget about their prior prey."

Tumblepaw nodded quickly, his chest puffed with pride from his mentor's praise. He glanced at the bird, his mind buzzing from adrenaline. He just took down a vulture! His tail quivered with excitement. Wait until Burningpaw sees this! He padded up to the bird, biting down around it's shoulder to help drag it back to camp.

Lionscorch nodded, turning as he saw his mother pad towards him. Her orange eyes perfect reflections of her oldest son's. She nodded firmly. "If they fight, give them a fight they won't forget." He nodded at her strong words, leaning down to brush his muzzle to her head once before he mewed. "I'll be just fine."
Goldberry helped Tumblepaw heave the large prey through the snow. It would be a tiring trip back, but the reward would be worth the struggle.

Tumblepaw paused and flattened his ears. Dragging the bird wasn't getting them anywhere, it kept getting piled with snow and if it got too soggy, no one would want to eat it. He glanced around, but perked up at the sight of a chunk of tree bark that had fallen off one of the pines. "Goldberry, look!" He bounded off toward the bark. "Maybe we can use this to carry the vulture back?"
Cedarstar jumped down from Clanrock. He glanced over at his father by the elder's den, wishing he could speak a few words to him, but Closesky reassured him by giving him a signal nod of encouragement. "Don't embarrass yourself." Cedarstar blinked when Kinkfire padded up to him, her ears tilted back in disapproval of his decision for helping ThunderClan. "What?" "Don't embarrass yourself out there," Kinkfire said again. "You know, wet your fur or anything." Cedarstar rolled his eyes. "I think we'll be fine. We're just doing what ShadowClan does best." Kinkfire twitched her whiskers in amusement. "Standing there and looking all scary? Good thing I'm not in ThunderClan, I'd see you as one big fluffy kit." "Haha." Cedarstar frowned at her. "If it does come down to a fight, I'll draw ThunderClan blood for you." Kinkfire smiled. "Aw, so sweet." She nudged her brother. "Hit them like a monster on the thunderpath, Cedarstar." The ShadowClan leader nodded curtly before he padded over to the camp entrance.

Usually his mind was always on the ball, but he supposed he wasn't all that young anymore. He helped moved the bird onto the slab of bark, nodding. "Now we can pull it cleanly over the snow."

Honeypaw called out to his mentor, a quip of a voice from where he was sitting. He eyed his mentor, blinking with an unreadable expression, before he called. "Kick their hides twice. One for me and one for you. They're no match for you, anyway. And you better come back."

"Let's go!" Cedarstar called to his patrol, looking to each member before heading out of camp. Scorchfire followed.
Ashrock flattened his ears, watching the patrol go.
