We know that he fathered Dappletail's kits, a deaf tom named Featherkit and a stillborn she-kit with one hind leg named Cricketkit. In Fire and Ice, Bluestar mentions that Runningwind doesn't have the patience to become a mentor. So, this got me thinking—could it be possible that the deaths of his kits could've caused this and that perhaps he was also afraid of losing an apprentice just like he lost his kits?

honestly, they should add this to the movie. giving the background characters more depth than they supposedly had in the books.

She is his mother, right?] Yes, and his father is Halftail (in terms of extended family, his aunt and One-eye's sister is Speckletail). Their injuries didn't happen naturally though, they got them after being injured. |

Their injuries didn't happen naturally though, they got them after being injured. One-eye had a white, sightless eye ever since she was born and it wasn't until shortly before she became an elder when that eye got completely scratched out acording to Bluestar's Prophecy... so that bad genes theory works pretty well imo |

One-eye had a white, sightless eye ever since she was born and it wasn't until shortly before she became an elder when that eye got completely scratched out acording to Bluestar's Prophecy... so that bad genes theory works pretty well imo Yes, but according to Code of the Clans which came out first, she had lost one of her eyes to a badger and there's never any mention of her having a white, sightless eye when she's a kit in GC, so I was actually going off by what was stated in CotC rather than BP. |
