Prologue

As the half moon floated to its highest point, a shadowed mountain lit up with a faint light. Four figures could be seen, each with a different scent.
The cold mountain air blew through the figure's fur. Suddenly, a bright star floated down in front of the four figures, shedding light on them and revealing them to be cats.
The first cat, with the scent of forests and lush undergrowth, turned to the other three. "The Star of Dreams has arrived. It's time we started."
"Smoketail," said a black she-cat with the scent of wind and heather, "are you sure? M-my mentor had recently died, and this is the first time i've gone to the Star of Dreams without her.."
"Don't worry, Crowpaw, everything will be fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive. Now, as your mentor is not here to present you as a full medicine cat, StarClan shall do it for you. At least, I hope they will...."
Suddenly, another cat, this one with the scent of pine trees and marshes, spoke up.
"Are we going to talk here all night?!" he exclaimed.
"Calm down, Branchpelt," responded a she-cat smelling of fish.
"I'm sorry, Fishfeather, but I just don't want anyone to waste our time!" Branchpelt snapped back.
Smoketail spoke. "Well, if you two are very much done blabbering, let's get to it."
Branchpelt, Fishfeather, and Crowpaw nodded, stepping up the Star of Dreams along with Smoketail.
Each one of the medicine cats touched the star with a paw, and closed their eyes, instantly drifting off into their own separate dreams.
Smoketail awoke on what seemed to be a thick layer of ice. "Weird," he mumbled, "it's not leaf-bare yet.... and the clans don't live next to a lake..."
At that moment a cold, harsh scent drifted around him, and a ghostly voice whispered in his ears.
"If the bringer of the eclipse does not arrive, a paw of black dust will darken the sky."
Smoketail's eyes flickered open to find himself on the mountain ledge, except the Star of Dreams was not there.
Crowpaw bounced up to him. "You were right! I did recieve my full name!"
"Then what was it?"
"Crowpool!"
"Congratulations, Crowpool."
"Thank you. Also, I was going to be named Crowfeather, but I requested to be named Crowpool after my mentor, Leopardpool."
Smoketail nodded, but the prophecy he had just recieved was still on his mind. What dod it mean? How could there ever be someone who brings eclipses? And what does 'a paw of black dust' mean?
