( Ahh, I'm here! Okie, so let's see.
Akihiro being the first to notice the slowly reddening moon is a good start, then Sumie afterwards. After one of them announces it, I'll have Akiko step up and stop the aruguing going on. She'll give a small 'warning speech' to the Clans before declaring the Gathering over.
I would say yes. The older cats especially, like Akiko and the elders, have already experienced the Benitsuki before. But it didn't have much of an effect on the aftermath, as nothing too drastic happened to the Clan afterwards. But this time, instead of returning to normal by dawn, it's still there in the sky; a bright crimson moon. That spells a bad time for SC.
Also, I thought this was clever: The Blood Moon signifies the return of demons, right? But Lord Nobunaga's 'nickname', for lack of a better term, is "The Demon King". So instead of a literal demon, it's a figurative one, and one no one would possibly suspect approaching SC. )

(oooh, that's cool Moon! I like the play on words with demons and the Demon King. That's a fun one, and not so far fetched that the cats can blame the gods for not giving them ample warning. Awesome, lol) (So back in camp, Osamu will heard Shuzi saying the name of the blood moon. He'll come out of the den, from which he'd been listening to all of their happyish banter, and see the moon which would just be a slight pink at the moment. The protocol for that is to not leave camp, correct? And those who have not yet returned from the gathering aren't supposed to come back in, correct? So they won't be able to have Akiko give the prayer for protection inside of the camp, as she isn't present. So should the two elders try to get the healers for assistance? They're higher on the totem pole logistically, so they might have a bit more meaning to the gods in a prayer...)
(As for the cats in the gathering, Akihiro notices the changing color, and looks at the sky. When he sees the moon, he kinda just looks for a few moments, terrified but not sure why he is until he recognizes it as the Benitsuki. He doesn't say anything in case he's wrong though, at least not loudly enough to cause much alarm. Then Sumie sees it, and immediately alerts Akiko, as it's the Daimyo's place to issue commands in a situation like that. Then Akiko will issue her statement, but according to the front page, the cats outside of camp cannot return to camp until the moon has passed. What will they do under that?)

( That'll work!
Ah, that's right! They're not allowed to come back in... :O
Well, since it's a larger Gathering group, technically they all are permitted to return. But only on Gathering nights can they all come back (because the daimyo is there and the Clan can't resume without it); other times, any cats outside must stay outside in a sheltered area. But since the Gathering attendees won't return until a bit later... Yeah, the healers will have to take over the prayer ritual for now, until Akiko returns. )

( Made another poll, this time regarding the plot!
After the Oda Clan invade SC, I honestly have no clue how to continue it. Does Nobunaga actually take control of the Clan? Does the Clan attempt to usurp him? Or, if all else fails, are they all forced to find someplace else to live?
Thoughts? )
Personally, I think a... say, "The Lion King" type of direction could be taken. The ruler takes control, thus making everything worse to live in. The cats there are forced to live alongside the enemy for a while, but finally they get fed up with it and rebel against the ruler. By some natural chance, a fire starts, and a huge battle ( sometime in the future ) occurs. After the leader is killed the new one takes over and restores the life and prosperity to the Clan.

Osamu, Sora | Camp | a diamond's pearl , ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע Osamu rested on his side inside of the Wise One's den, rich golden eyes pinned on a dark corner as he listened to the joy of the small family just outside of the den. Shizu, his denmate, was playing with her kits, and the elderly tom felt a mixture of sadness and jealousy creeping into his chest with every playful comment from the felines outside. A small image of Yui in his mind arose, his kit, small, beautiful and perfect in every way... He gave a pained hiss, pushing the image of the lilac lynx point Siamese she-cat with her brilliant blue eyes away. He wished with every fiber of his being that her or Mei could be there beside him, offering him the chance to speak openly, to remember with. Osamu growled quietly, curling his paws closer to his chest and flattening his ears as he listened to the happy little family outside of the den. And then their voices changed, shifting in pitch and getting more... serious. The Siamese Korat mix would have gone on ignoring it if he hadn't heard the cursed word. "Benitsuki"
Osamu felt a sinking feeling in his chest as he pushed himself onto his paws and suck his head out through the entrance. His pupils shrunk with an innate fear at the sight of the pink tinge that the moon was taking on, and he quickly forced his way the rest of the way out of the den. "Shizu," he meowed roughly, his voice rough and unused, "Help me get everyone inside their respective dens. I need to speak with the healer, she's the highest qualified to give our prayers to the gods while Lady Akiko and the rest of the clan are away." His eyes were dark, and he lashed his blue grey tail, flattening his ears. The cream and blue-grey Korat Siamese cross kept his eyes locked on the moon as he began to creakily cross the camp for the Healer's den. His whiskers twitched nervously as he caught sight of one of the young apprentices playing around, totally unaware of the rising Benitsuki. He would divert her before trying to get their healer's attention. "Sora," Osamu croaked, "I suggest that you get yourself into your den immediately, and stay put until someone of a higher rank fetches you."
"And why is that? No one is back from the gathering yet, I wanted to wait up!" Sora's plaintive tones thundered on Osamu's ears, and he glowered at her. "The benitsuki is rising, Minarai, so I suggest you listen to your elders who have experienced such an event before. Return to your den."
Sora's eyes widened as he mentioned benitsuki, and Osamu could see the fear slowly rising in them. She turned her head to the sky, and her eyes caught on the pink tinged moon. "Yes, Osamu-san," she small she-cat meowed softly, her eyes still locked on the moon in the sky, "I'll await further orders.""That would be best for us all," Osamu meowed gruffly, turning away from the tiny Japanese Bobtail as she herself whipped around and trotted quickly for the Minarai's den. Osamu didn't wait around to see if she went inside or not, instead he simply turned and slipped into the Healer's den. "Izumi," he called, forcing his way in slowly, "Izumi, we need your help." The tom's voice was as calm as he could get it to be with the threat of the Benitsuki rising in the sky. "The Benitsuki has risen in the sky again, and we don't have our Daimyo present to offer the prayers to the gods," he explained quietly, doing his best to stay calm despite the pressure of the entire situation. Sumie, Akihiro, Haruka | The Gathering | Mᴏᴏɴ - -Akihiro's paws were scuffling lightly in the dusty earth when he heard his sister's voice among the multitude of other protesting feline calls. Oh... why did she have to behave like this? It was always so tiring to hear her argue with everyone about things such as this... not that he wouldn't speak up himself if he could. One of his light silvery paws drifted into the moonlight which he kept his eyes on, and he froze, his large amber golden eyes locked on the pearly color of his paw. And it began to lighten in color, slowly, slowly, until it was tinged a strange pink. The Turkish Angora was confused for a few moments until he t urned his head to see all of the other bright lights he'd been watching just moments before. They were all strangely tinted, and he tipped his head, confused.
This light was pink, and this light came from...
The moon.
The small Turkish Angora tom turned his eyes skyward, feeling a shard of terror pierce his chest at the sight of the pink moon that hung above the gathering."Benitsuki," he breathed softly, wide eyes not leaving the orb in the sky. He didn't dare budge, or speak another thing in the presence of the moon and the other cats. What if he was wrong? If he was wrong, so very many things would go terribly wrong. Deep inside of the crowd near the center of the Gathering, Sumie had perked her ears to listen to the other Daimyo's harsh response. Sure... he meant them no harm now, but what about later? Later would be the true problem. The Turkish Angora she-cat felt anger curling around her heart, and she held back a sharp response, watching the other cats with narrowed eyes. Ieyasu, in particular, she glowered at, no longer particularly concerned with honorifics and providing the leader with the respect he was due. Things would end up dangerous no matter what happened, she figured. SakuraClan didn't particularly have a choice after Oda had the guts to murder one of their Samurai inside of Sakura borders. Sumie turned her amber eyes to Masamune, the ally leader, about to ask him what he thought of the entire situation when her eyes caught on the lightest part of his Siamese pelt. What, in the name of the gods...? Suddenly, the smokey grey she-cat turned her face skyward, a sinking feeling in her chest. If Masamune was stained pink by the light, there was a change in the moon. The only plausable change in the moon was the Benitsuki. "Lady Akiko," Sumie meowed urgently, her voice hard, "Take a look at the sky. I fear Benitsuki has risen again." The smokey grey she-cat looked to her leader for instructions, fear driving a needle hot into her heart. It had been awhile since she was truly scared of something, but this omen was one of bad things to come, and paired with the Oda murder, well... Saburo rest his soul, she didn't see anything good coming from this. Haruka was sitting near the middle of the group, his paws held tightly at his front, and his eyes watching the scene unfold in front of him. His heart was pounding in his chest, and he began to nervously scuff at the ground with one paw, fighting the urge to hide his face and never come back out. His chocolate pelt was fluffed out with fear at the declaration of the alliance between two very strong clans, and his greenish eyes were wide and terrified. It didn't help when he began to hear murmurs around him about the moon that was arising in the sky. The harvest moon, the blood moon... Haruka could care less what you called it, it was a bad omen. The Kurilian Bobtail Oriental mix dropped into a crouch, bowing his head to the earth. "Oh please, gods, protect us in this time of darkness," he offered up, eyes squeezed tightly shut. Informal as it was, Haruka supposed it was better than nothing. He began to shake slightly, his claws tensing into the ground, and his ears flattening to his head. (finished totally with these two! I'll have to respond with Osamu and Sora again!)

[ Izumi | Camp | Tags - - Osamu, Tarou]
The svelte grimalkin’s laze was prorogued, axed simply by the importunate urgency that exuded from the seeming non-confrontational gibe. His ingress - coupled with the blatant behest - appeared rather… hyperbolized; an endeavor out of ennui, given the two, with the addition of many others, had been omitted from the congregation.
With quasi-lidded oculi, the physician effectuated insouciant nictates to disguise her peeved lineaments, yet nonetheless opted to investigate this oral averment. After all, the masculine was indeed a senior - one to display deference no matter the user’s place on the hierarchy.
Acquiring an upright stance with a sole, fluid motion, the molly treaded through the egress and out into the open. An invigorating clime welcomed her, though she scarcely paid heed as a result of what unfolded before her - a light fulvous moon, lethargically metamorphosing into an even darker complexion. Silver-brocaded pelage horripilated - startled to say the least. She’d been given no warning by the deities of an incoming Harvest Moon!
Surprisingly, and with the help of her rather collected personality, it took but a moment to regain her vulnerability, of which her countenance regressed to being insouciant. She did, however, remain wary, with narrowing eyes to prove this chariness. As it was typically, their premier would gather them at her temple and utter a prayer of protection. But given she was contemporaneously posted at the gathering…
“Get everyone to the Akiko’s temple, Osamu.”
Her voice was sharp, far too much so to add the customary honorifics. With that, she hastened over to the nursery, tapping at the entrance to signal her presence.
“Tarou I need you to help Osamu with alerting everyone about heading over to the Akiko’s temple. Be calm, yet also meaningful - no need for an uproar.”
Without further information, the feline simply departed, swiftly heading over to the desired destination for preparation of the orison.

Tarou | ClearingBeing in a semi-light slumber, the novice woke up immediately. Almost immediately. At the sound of a paw rapping quickly at the den's adamantine surface, his ears pricked in alertness and his head shot up from his paws. "Hrm...?" Blinking sleepily at the cat before him, Izumi, he arose to his paws and stretched, careful not to disturb a resting Ikusei. Are they back already?
But his thoughts were proven wrong as his sensei ordered for him to help guide the few cats in the camp over the Lady Akiko's miniature temple in the distance. A bit confused at this order, but nonetheless obedient, Tarou nodded briskly. He tapped Ikusei's shoulder, not sure if he should send the nursing queen out as well. "Wake up, my lady. We need to gather in front of the temple." He wasn't expecting a reply, but there seemed to be no time to wait around, hearing the urgency in her voice. Turning back to his teacher as he treaded back into the clearing, he mumbled a nervous, "S-Sensei... What's going on?" However, his question was quickly answered as he looked at the ever-bright moon in the sky.
Squinting, he saw that the color... the color wasn't right. What was once a bright silvery-white was now a darkening roseate-orange color. What is this called again? The Be... Benitsuki? Why now? The gods didn't warn us about this! Lady Akiko isn't even here yet! His eyes widened in trepidation, but he went by his teachers orders. His gait slowly turning into a run as he scrabbled onto a nearby rock.
Closing his eyes, he breathed in some of the sweet-smelling air around him to calm his frayed nerves. Be calm, yet also meaningful - no need for an uproar. With that thought, he called out to the Clan, beckoning to the small temple beside him with a small paw. "Everyone, please remain calm. We need all of you to gather under Lady Akiko's temple, without delay. We will explain further once you all are here."ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע Darktalon Razz

The elderly tortoiseshell sat crouched. Her green eyes wide with terror as she looked up at the moon. Then a familiar voice spoke behind her. She hesitantly turned her predominately white head to look at Osamu. She saw all seriousness as she looked at his blueish-gray face, finding all seriousness there. Not the usual grumpy and irritated expression he carried. Shizu didn't, couldn't even argue with him at this moment. Instantly, she turned to her kits and nodded towards the temple. "You heard him, let's go." She ordered, her voice was smooth, but slowly beginning to crack with age. The feminine lead the two towards the clearing at a fast pace, or at least, as fast as she could go.
"What do we do when we get inside, mother?" Kiyoshi's quiet voice sounded to her left and Shizu rested her tail along her flank comfortingly. "Do not fear Kiyoshi-chan. Just the two of you stay together. And get along. Now isn't the time for you little arguments." There was a hint of amusement in her eye as her son looked down at his paws in slight embarrassment, kicking up dirt. "Now go. Make sure everyone else gets settled in."
Once the two had made their way into the temple, Shizu stood just outside at the entrance. Watching over and waiting for the other's to get in. What a view the camp is from this vantage point. The Wise One thought, letting out a brief purr. Her mind was beginning to wonder as no one else really made there way to the temple.
There had been a long while since the last Harvest Moon. Why did it choose such an odd time to make its return? Was it possible for it to be a very important omen? It was quiet possible, but this wasn't Shizu's place. Worrying of omens and such. Perhaps just the callings of the demons. Beings that Shizu had faced perhaps two or three times in her long lifetime. Of course the elderly feminine feared them, but who didn't? Especially at her old age since she couldn't protect herself much. Amaterasu bless our Clan with safety and peace. Make sure the returning cats have a safe trip back home.
----------
Inside the temple was just gorgeous! Naoko's amber eyes gleamed with delight and an open smile on his face as he scanned his surroundings. "I'd love to live here! Can you believe it Kiyoshi? Akiko had this place all to her self! I'm surprised she's never opened for a roommate. I'm sure a cat would get lonely here all by herself."
"She had a roommate, if you've forgotten. Her mate? Lord Kotaro?" Kiyoshi said, shifting her paws along the carpeted ground of the temple. Unsure of where they were supposed to be going.
"Hmph, why doesn't she get a new one then?" "Maybe because she didn't want a new one. You don't see Shizu-san finding a new mate now that Hideaki has passed away."
That seemed to shut him up at the mention of their father. And Kiyoshi let out a small sigh of relief. Fear soon taking over, and what she had left of a tail began to twitch nervously. From the stories her mother had told them, The Binitsuki was the sign of a bad omen. A very, very ill one at that. What kind of signs would this one lead? She'd never actually seen a real demon before. But the stories of them made her pelt prickle all over.

Osamu, Sora | Camp | a diamond's pearl ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע Mᴏᴏɴ - - Osamu's gaze stayed firmly upon Izumi as she made her way out of the den, and got her first glimpse of the moon. He could see her surprise, the small tinge of worry that rippled its way through her pelt. So he had not overreacted. Good, this meant his fast reactions had been warranted. He started slightly when Izumi told him to begin gathering the cats in the temple, and he bowed his head to her, before without another word creakily passing her and heading for the Minarai's den. Sora would be in here, he'd just sent her to stay and await orders. There may even be a few other Minarai still present, Osamu wasn't sure if Emiko or Haruna had left the camp for the gathering, or perhaps Chisai and Umeko still rested within the depths of the den. Osamu forced his head through the entrance, his dark honey eyes locking onto the Minarai within the den. "Follow me," he meowed gruffly, pulling his head out from the slightly smaller entrance, "and stay calm."The gruff Siamese Korat mix stood impatiently beside the den as each young Minarai removed themselves from it. "Follow me," he croaked again, once they were all present. He turned and began to walk stiffly for the temple, where he could see Tarou attempting to divert the traffic of feline bodies slowly emerging from their dens. "What's going to happen now?" Osamu turned when he heard the voice of Sora, and the young white and calico she-cat was beside him, her fluffy stub of a tail held up in a plume of fur. "Go with your peers to the temple there," Osamu gruffly ordered her, turning away, "I must check the other dens to assure that they are all empty." "That didn't answer my question!" the small she-cat called indignantly as Osamu began to walk away from her, and he ignored her. He did not have time to settle little fears of the Minarai, not at a time filled with such urgency. He dropped his head and kept walking. "Tarou-kun," He called as he passed the young healer apprentice, "keep up the good work. I'll do my best to assist the new mother after I check to make sure the Samurai's den is clear. Once it's mostly cleared up, go ahead on up after the others, alright?"He didn't wait for a response as he headed for the Samurai's den. A glance in both sides confirmed it as completely empty, and Osamu pulled back, before heading for the nursery. He knew that their Samurai Ikusei had just kitted earlier in the day. She would not be particularly strong after such an experience, and would likely need assistance to the Temple. He stuck just his head into the nursery, flicking an ear. "Ikusei-san," he meowed croakily, "We need to head for the temple for the prayers. I do not mean to alarm you, but it would be wise to attempt moving quickly. How may I assist you?"

Tarou | Daimyo's Den"Thank you, Osamu-san," he replied to the elderly cat, nodding briefly. "I will." Osamu would take care of the rest, he supposed. For a Wise One, he was an immense help to the Clan, and Tarou admired that about the veteran.
As the cats began filing into their leader's "den", Tarou slipped inside as well. His eyes widened. Every time he stepped into Akiko's temple, he felt a rush of... eerie tranquility. Even with Tsukuyomi's night blanketing over the sky and dimming the pink glow of the cherry petals, the flickering candle stands lined up neatly against the walls provided enough light to see around the inside. A faint chiming noise could be heard; perhaps there was a wind chime swinging outside.Thankfully, the small temple was large enough to hold everyone within its interior. It was about the size of a large room. The floors underpaw were composed of criss-crossed tatami matting. The walls were decorated with hanging scrolls depicting paintings of winding green dragons and roaring orange tigers. A low table with pillows around its perimeter was set in a corner, along with tiny trinkets like tassels and dolls. He guessed Akiko slept right in the middle of the floor, with all of her items neatly pushed away. From the outside, the sliding doors looked like plain paper. But on the inside, they were painted with beautiful pictures of more gods - Fujin and Raijin respectively. Finally, looming before all of the cats, was a shrine. It took up the majority of the wall space, but it wasn't large enough to take up too much breathing space, either. A slender, streamlined cat statue sat at the top, her thin eyes slanted as if examining something. The sun headpiece on her forehead - as well as that sacred mirror, jewel, and sword - gave it away that this statue was of the one and only sun goddess; Amaterasu O-Kami.
Amaterasu...I hope She was watching over Akiko this whole time. Tarou stood in front of the shrine, looking over at the cats gathered before him. It felt so weird being in here. It was so quiet. Maybe too quiet. He couldn't fathom how Akiko could bear this... silence.
But she had so much noise going on inside her head; he could see why she needed such cleansing quietude.

The Clan Leaders & Congregation | Gathering Amidst the absolutely irritating arguing going on, Lady Akiko wanted nothing to do with any of this. Seriously, a headache was starting to creep up on her.
She didn't trust the Tokugawa at all. Even if what Ieyasu said was true - which it was - who's to say that they wouldn't launch an ambush on SakuraClan sometime in the future? What if what he was saying was just to lend them a false sense of security? The Tokugawa cats were righteous and just, but her mindset on them - now, anyways - was just the same as the Oda.
She saw them all as murderers.
Finally opening her eyes, she stepped forwards, wanting to put a terminus to all of this yowling back and forth. But just as she stepped up past the other daimyo, she noticed that their fur color looked...odd, to say the least. They were all outlined with a reddish sort of tint. I must be hallucinating again, she thought, shaking her head to clear her vision. But no, the red tint was still there; in fact, she could even point out the cats in the crowd clearly now as it grew brighter. What is going on?
At that moment, her ears picked up Sumie's voice calling to her; something about the benitsuki. Her amber eyes widened - if that was possible - and darted upwards to look at the night sky. Much to her dismay, Sumie was right.
As the dark wisps of clouds scattered from view, a spotted red circle hung in the sky, It was no longer a light pink color; the celestial body was now the color of fresh blood. Little by little, the crowd of cats turned their head to gaze at the same moon, and Akiko could hear meows of alarm rise from the congregation. Even for a unemotional and cold cat such as herself, her fear seemed to show in her rising fur and quickening heartbeat. The warlords, however, seemed to be... late. They almost didn't notice the drastic change in atmosphere. Maybe it was because of the red haze of battle that began to cover their peripheral vision.
Kazetora assumed an offensive stance, dark claws sliding from their sheathes. Masamune began stalking towards the Tokugawa leader, tiny sparks of blue fire already begin to erupt in his angry eye. Cats from SakuraClan began to inch towards the felines from the other clans, who backed away with bared teeth.
The leaders paid no heed to the dark clouds starting to roll into the starry sky; the gods gave them a clear warning, but it was evident that none of them were going to listen. And gods forbid, if a fight broke out at this Gathering...
So, Akiko, despite being the quiet leader she was, spoke up."That is enough!" Her caterwaul was enough to silence the heated argument among the warlords, and even they were shocked at the normally calm feminine's wrathful shout. "This is meant to be a night of truce." She called, with an air of superiority and dominance that was not at all forced. "And here, the gods have expressed their disapproval with a rare harvest moon. Something dangerous is coming for us, but we don't know what, exactly. Keep your eyes open, your defenses up, and your senses alert." She turned to the other leaders, the red glow on her fur making her look sinister. Her ice cold gaze did nothing to help. "I will not allow enemy armies into my Clan's territory, lest they be met with tooth and claw. However, we will continue to follow the virtues of bushido. There is no need to send cats into war."
"And don't forget, Ieyasu," Akiko meowed, not even bothering to address him with his respectful honorific, staring down at the tom coldly. "Need you be reminded that you have made an enemy of us? I think not. If you truly wish to 'unify' our land, so be it. It may be good for Japan, it may not. But I will have no part in it." The large tom stared her down, but said nothing. He gave a short bow of respect to the female warlord, but she didn't seem to notice it.
With a single fluid motion, she leaped down from the tall cherry tree, her head low. "Come, SakuraClan," she meowed, her voice irritated and bitter. "Although the benitsuki is upon us, we are permitted to return. Let us go home." The clearing fell silent as the crowds made way for the daimyo and her cats to pass. But Akiko welcomed it.
