The Invasion Timeskip
DRUMROLL, PLEASE! Finally, here is the timeskip you all have been waiting for! :'D
It is now the early morning of the Cherry Blossom Festival. Despite the terrifying events that occurred last night, the Clan is ready to celebrate. As always, this plot comes certain important sub-plot points. Try to include all of your cats in this. They must interact, including the ones you haven't used yet.
It is currently about 6:00 AM in RP time. It's still a bit dark and most of the Clan is still sleeping. The Oda Clan cats are going to sneak in the camp under the cover of darkness and make a little surprise entrance. You are to roleplay your characters participating in some way. Naturally, some of the cats have never seen Lord Nobunaga before, so they shouldn't be too informed about him. You can choose who recognizes him or not, I don't really care who.
A few of my posts might be quite long. You do NOT have to match my length, so please don't worry about typing up something fancy.
Newcomers, just follow along. I understand that this is new and the plot is a bit complex. It'll all be cleared up soon, though. ^^;
A starter post will be below!

Lady Akiko was snapped awake with a slight jolt.
The leader raised her head, peering around the dim lighting of her private room. Despite the flickering candles providing temporary consolation, something... Something didn't feel quite right.
The thin, golden fur raised along her back as a cold shiver raced down her spine. That's weird. Were the gods suppose to visit her in her dreams? They should have. And, speaking of dreams, she had no bizarre nightmares during the night. So... what was it? These deep thoughts were all mantled underneath her queenly mask, which was removed as her stoic expression was replaced by worry. She proceeded to uncurl her graceful form from the flooring underpaw and make her way to the sliding shōji doors.
What time was it?
There was no sunlight filtering through the barely-open doors, besides... darkness. There was a hint of lighter blue against the darkened shadows of the trees, though. So she took the assumption that she had woken up at early dawn. The muscles in her forepaws tightened as she pushed open the doors and slipped out of the tiny temple, pawsteps light on the small flight of stairs. The she-cat swiveled her ears, searching for any sound of cats in the camp if they had noticed her subtle escape from the small shrine. Nothing.
She had a very strong urge to go to Izumi and ask about this, but she forced it back. First of all, she was probably just being delusional due to her exhausting night, and besides, she figured that neither Izumi nor her apprentice would like to have their sleep disturbed, lest they be annoyed that their leader decided to be a bother and wake them up so early. For no reason, at that!
Her skin shivered under her pelt, and she became aware of the chilled air circulating throughout the dark camp. Directing her orange eyes to the dark blue sky, her eyes narrowed as they pinpointed a single red circle in the sky. It was most definitely not the sun, and if it was, the camp would already have been painted with the golden hue of the sunrise.
That blood-red moon was still hanging there in the dark dawn sky, taunting her with it's devilish glow.
The daimyo's ears flattened, and her fur rose in apprehension. That could only mean that those pesky demons were returning...
Of course, she didn't anticipate that a certain 'demon' was making its way to her Clan.
"Um... Lady Akiko...?"
A small, tired voice snapped the majestic female out of her dark thoughts. It was only Tarou. Lowering herself so that she stood at his level, she ran a gentle paw over his forehead.
She sighed, as if relieved. "Tarou." Her tone was hushed; she didn't want to wake any cats from their sleep. "What are you doing out here so early, child?"
Tarou felt his ears grow warm. "O-Oh... Ironically, that was what I was going to ask you, my lady," he replied with a rather mature tone. His eyes widened, full of concern. "Is something the matter?"
Akiko shivered again, the air buffeting her fur. She didn't respond, but her eyes trailed upwards to stare at the blood-red moon, a small yet menacing circle sitting still hanging in the sky. She hoped that he would catch her drift.
Tarou's fur rose slightly in understanding as he followed her gaze. "The benitsuki…" He looked back to Akiko; now it was his turn to look nervous. "It's still there?! B-But... What's going to happen to us? That mean that evil spirits are returning now, right?"
Akiko swallowed dryly. "I do hope not…" Despite her best efforts to stay calm, her voice wavered slightly. "If they lay siege on us, however... I am certain that we can fight back."
"Is that so…?"
A deep, sonorous voice sounded from behind Akiko, and her whole body tensed. She thought that was one of her warriors at first, but...there was something about it that made her heart shoot up to her throat. The scent of the mountains, smoke, and rain wafted into her nose. The scents caused her to press her eyebrows together in thought. Where had she heard that before? Where had she smelled that before?
That's when she saw Tarou backing away, his eyes wide like moons and his fur rising in all-to-obvious terror. His mouth was wide open, but he looked to scared to speak.
Slowly, as if dreading the reveal, Akiko turned around to face the cat who spoke, and, for the first time, she looked absolutely fear-stricken. Before a shadowy army as big as her Clan stood a tall figure shrouded in a red light. His eyes seemed to glow unnaturally in the dark; golden with red around the pupil.
Her blood froze. She knew those eyes. She knew that cat. Every cat across the expanses of Japan knew him.
It was none other than the ‘Demon King’, Lord Nobunaga Oda.
( So there you go! Your cats are free to get up and see what the hay is going on. Of course, make sure your they act appropriately, though! Most likely, they'd be shocked and scared see this of all this when they wake up. XD
No fighting/battle is going to take place - yet. Your cats can try to take on an Oda cat, but it most likely won't work. No ifs, ands, or buts. This is all for the sake of realism; the final battle won't be until the future. For now, they will be forcing SC to submit and let the Oda share territory with them. )

Junichi was sound asleep, and in the midst of a dream. He was crouched in darkness with the smell of mouse wafting through his nostrils. Closer he crept, careful not to make a sound, until he was just behind it. He was so close he could see it nibbling on something in its paws. He pounced forward, landing on...absolutely nothing. He whipped his head around to see a tanuki standing next to him, facing him with the mouse already in its jaws. He growled and swiped at the creature with a clawed paw, but it disappeared and he was facing a stone wall, claws scraping against nothing. He sat up in his bedding and looked around. It seemed too early to get up, but something felt...not right. He rose to his paws and padded outside, carefully stepping around his fellow samurai. Outside in the darkness, all he could see was the golden pelt of his leader. He walked over and stopped behind her. "Akiko-sama, is something wrong?" It was then that he noticed the dark shapes in front of her. Lord Nobunaga Oda? he thought. But that doesn't make sense. The pale fur on his back rose in fear.

Tsuki blinked open her bright blue eyes and was surprised to see darkness all around her. Shouldn't of been morning by now? The silver-blue molly stretched all four of her limbs and stifled a yawn, sensing that something was terribly wrong. It was never this quiet in the camp, even at night, and the unnatural silence rang in her ears. The commander flattened her ears against her head. She didn't like this, not one bit.
Light as a feather, she made her way to the den entrance, making sure she didn't disturb anycat. Careful to conceal herself in the shadows, Tsuki cast a quick glance out the entrance, and what she saw chilled her to the core. Lord Nobunaga Oda was here, and he had brought an enormous army. What could she do? How would she stop them? Tsuki began to think up battle strategies in her head, all of which might not work.
She needed something big to drive them out. SakuraClan needed help, and they needed it fast. She couldn't go get some, it would be too obvious, every cat knew her by now and it'd be suspicious to them if she was absent. Tsuki needed a cat that flew under the radar and was fast. That's when it hit her, the perfect cat was right next to her.
Hikari's sleeping form lay curled up in a ball next to Tsuki, taking deep breaths, flank rising up and down. The commander bent down and whispered in her ear. "Hikari, wake up!" Nothing happened. Tsuki waited a few moments before trying again, this time kicking the other she-cat. "wake up now!" she whispered urgently.
Hikari's head shot up and she hissed, "Oww, what did you do that for?"
Tsuki grunted. "Quiet! No time to explain. I need you to slip out of camp and find our closest allies. Tell them that Lord Nobunaga Oda is here with a giant army and that we need back-up immediately."
Hikari's eyes widened with excitement. "Ooh a secret mission!" Her excitement turned to terror as she fully understood what Tsuki was asking of her. "Wait, The Demon King? You mean he's here?"
"Yes!" Tsuki hissed impatiently. "Now go! Make sure nobody sees you leave and hurry!"
Hikari shook her head. "What about the soldiers?" she protested.
Tsuki's blue eyes were starting to heat up. "Stay low, cover your scent, don't let them find you! Now go! Stop asking questions! And hurry up! Lives are at stake!"
Hikari hesitated for a brief moment, but then nodded, quickly, but quietly making her way out the entrance and towards the dirtplace and covered herself in dirt unwillingly. "Ugh, I hope this will come out," she whispered, scrunching up her nose in disgust. The she-cat than began to crawl through some bushes, nearly out of camp. "Ancestors keep me safe," she prayed as she darted out into SakuraClan's territory, running as fast as her agile quick form could carry her.
Tsuki looked in the direction Hikari had gone and whispered. "Good luck, return home safe and sound good samurai."

He was not expecting this.
Earlier, Takeshi was enjoying a peaceful rest, fast asleep in the samurais' den. He had such high hopes for the grand festival, and was looking forward to a day of gleeful celebration. But now, here he was in disbelief and shock, staring at the collection of Oda Clan cats standing before Akiko. His blood ran cold; there she was, face-to-face with the very cat that caused her all of this misery. Why now, of all times?! Why didn't they receive a warning?
The head tactician had no choice but to tag along with the few samurai who had been rushed out of camp via Tsuki's orders. He didn't mean to accompany them, he just felt that they should have a guide to at least take care of them.
Careful not to let his fear scent show, the head tactician snuck up to Tsuki, keeping a careful eye on the soldiers. The normally emotionless tom was tense. Heart thudding against his ribs, he nodded to Tsuki. "My lady, if I may, I would like to accompany Hikari. We cannot risk her losing her way or getting hurt. We will make our way to the Date Clan up north." He frowned. "Take care of our Clan... and our Lady." With a brisk bow and a final anguished glance at Akiko, he turned tail and snuck away to the entrance.
Once he was sure he was far away enough, he bolted forwards into a stunning break-neck run. Hikaru's scent - unique as it was - trailed off to the right, and he found his way to the dirtplace. Grimacing, he slunk around to detect the trail of the fetid odor and it lead up north, sure enough. She must have hid her scent the rest of the way. But... with this? I would prefer rolling in something less...miasmic.
Turning away, he attempted not to gag at the scent trail, noticing it was becoming stronger as he ran. Was he catching up to her? It was a bit of a long run, but he noticed that the cherry trees eventually transformed into tall pines. The Date weren't too far away.
"Hikari! Hikari, are you there?"
He needed to keep Hikari by his side, just in case an explanation was needed for her presence. He called out her name one more, hoping he could reach her from ahead.

(Thanks Moon! What character would you like me to attempt to draw for you? Sorry, I had to take a break from electronics, so I drew Hikari LOL I gotta go to bed in 10 minutes)
Tsuki nodded. "Of course, Hikari has a nose for trouble, some cat should be there to keep an eye on her. Be careful, and move fast." As she saw Takeshi slip away, Tsuki sat and began to investigate the scene, noting where all the enemy soldiers were positioned.
Hikari jumped into a stream and rinsed off the disgusting feces from her pelt, making sure it was thoroughly clean. The she-cat, hearing her name, glanced up to see a figure heading towards her. She jumped out of the stream and shook her pelt, water splattering everywhere. "Hello Takeshi, did Tsuki send you too?" she politely inquired, giving a small smile.

Keiko's ears perked up as she was woken from her dream by someone's pawsteps. She stretched in her nest, her pink paws glowing in the light of the morning sun. She flicked her tail, annoyed that someone had woken her up. Then she remembered what had happened last night. The benitsuki. She looked up, noticing the blood-red glow that was still covering the camp. Though it was unlike her to be scared, she shivered, wondering what that meant that it hadn't gone yet.
Her gaze snapped to two cats in the center of camp. Tarou and Lady Akiko, she realized, talking to each other. Something doesn't feel right... Keiko thought, spying Tsuki up and about as well. What's going on? Why is everyone up so early?
Keiko softly padded out of the den, her pink ears perked and listening for everything as she padded towards the other cats. Halfway there, she froze, feeling a prickling on her spine, like someone was watching her. Her sharp green gaze caught Tarou, who looked scared half to death. She turned to see what he was looking at.
A dark shape stood in front of him and Lady Akiko, but he wasn't what terrified Keiko. It was the fear on Lady Akiko's face. Keiko crouched down, the pale fur on her back rising. All of the remarks she could spout out at the figure blurred in her thoughts: Who do you think you are, barging into our clan uninvited? I think you're standing in the wrong spot, the dirt place is over there! But she was so utterly terrified she couldn't say anything. She didn't think she could get more scared. Until she realized who the dark figure was, and she saw the shadow army behind him.
"Lord Nobunaga Oda." She whispered.

[ Izumi | Healer's Lair | Tags - - None ]
One might’ve presumed the grimalkin to be subsequently somnolent after being put under the spotlight; solaced, even, by after such a paralyzing and soporific feat. The molly perceived none of these sentiments however, and, as a substitute, appeared to have been aerated with a bit too much adrenaline - the basis apropos the dearth of torpor. Notwithstanding, she seemed to have regained her sangfroid over a night’s length, which regressed the feminine to her typically authoritatively yet quiet psych.
Returning to the present, an alien miasma found its way to the physician’s nasal cavities to which, on the qui vive, agitated her stupor. With quasi-lidded oculi, she glanced over at Tarou’s stationary berth, momentarily surprised by it being unoccupied. Surely it wasn’t that late in the day, right?
Staggering upright, she couldn’t help but sense something… amiss with the atmosphere. What… What was that smell, anyways? More so circumspect than she was curious, the cat trotted over to the entrance and peered out.
An army stopped her in her tracks. More specifically, Lord Nobunaga Oda's army.
Shocked, she effectuated a transient intake of breath, taken aback from the scene. But then new concern replaced the present one - one she sensed passionately - almost making her feel, surprisingly, like a mother: where was Tarou?
[ Umeko & Susumu | Camp | Tags - - None ]
Heterochromic opticals trailed after her quasi-sib as he positioned himself protectively in front of the trainee’s chambers. Susumu - despite his samurai status - had slept there at his sister’s request, given she’d been rather spooked by the whole Harvest Moon incident. Now, his back turned to her, seemed to be bristling with the first onset of uncharacteristic hostility coupled with both shock and uncertainty. None of them new why these strangers had shown up - but if their premier was willing to bring along an entire troupe capable of demolishing a Clan such as theirs - they doubted it was anything good.

( Stormheart ;; Hm, Takeshi? I'd like to see someone draw my stoic son, haha. I'll work on Tsuki for you, Stormy! ) Finally, his thin eyes caught sight of the orange female. She seemed to be washing off the remnants of the fetor from her skin in a nearby - convenient - stream. Relieved, Takeshi shook his head, looking around warily. "No," came his brisk reply to her question. "I actually came on my own inclination. In case you needed assistance in your endeavor." He looked to the left. The green flags that marked the entrance to the Date Clan were darkened by the dim light, but he could see them in the distance. "We must ask Lord Masamune for help."
Without waiting for her, he administered his pawsteps in the direction of the entrance, careful to look out for guards. And, not slowing down his quick gait, he uttered a single command. "Come." In toto, this was no simple request; SakuraClan needed backup, and fast. Hopefully, that stubborn Masamune kid could help; but he was reluctant to "ally" with them, and Takeshi had to be prepared for any rejections. Akiko stood steadfast before Nobunaga, unmoving, unwavering. She could feel Tarou shaking violently against her leg, and her heart sank as she saw Izumi emerge from her den. Staring down at the little tom, she murmured an inaudible 'go.'.
Tarou, terrified as he was, slowly backed away into the shadows and snuck along the edge of the camp. The army didn't spot him, but he didn't stop until he came around to Izumi. Overjoyed to see her, he buried his head into his sensei's chest and breathed in her airy scent, trying to stop his shivering.Meanwhile, Nobunaga gazed around at the cats gathering behind and around Akiko, the slightest of smirks coming onto his maw at their obvious surprise. A scarred ear flicked to the right as he locked eyes with Akiko once again. He titled his head to the side slightly, eyes glowing. "Surprised? Well, I did warn you that I would return, did I... not?" His voice was sonorous and powerful, but captivating. Almost theatrical. Akiko took in a deep breath, her heart feeling as if it was going to burst out of her chest with how hard it was pounding. She stared him down with defiant, trembling eyes, her expression illegible. There were four more cats on each side of him, whom she recognized vaguely. But they weren't her concern right now; the Oda Clan leader was her only priority. Finally, she opened her mouth, rigid words escaping from her tongue.
"Why have you come here?"
Her voice was hard and cold as ice. It felt so... surreal to be talking to the very cat who killed her own spouse. She just couldn't let that ruin her mental state, though. There was no need for a breakdown right now. No cat in her Clan seemed to be speaking except her, so she decided to take the initiative and speak for them.
Nobunaga frowned and raised an eyebrow. "Time to repay some debts to this...'pretty place'." He stalked forward as if Akiko was prey, slowly circling around her twice. "Let me put it simply... It appears you are of some use to me. In my endeavors to unite the forest, to achieve a peaceful consensus, we must eradicate all obstacles in our path. And conquering is the method to do so. Just like we have done to the Azai on our way here."
What?! He annihilated his own brother-in-law just for treason? That meant... Lord Nagamasa was dead. What about Lady Oichi? She must be heartbroken...Akiko looked genuinely furious now, despite her extremely pragmatic nature. "Uniting the land is a good cause, but I do not think you are aware of the consequences a method like that will cause. Conquer or not, I will not let you take my Clan." She had taken a few steps back without even realizing it; she noticed his glare became fiercer.
He wanted to combine their land with hers... and for what cause? To bring peace as one union? Yes, it seemed feasible, but surely a cat with a less warped mindset could do that; a cat like Ieyasu or Hideyoshi. But Nobunaga...? That murderer... That demon...! He thinks he can just persuade me to do something like that? Well, I am sorry to say; it won't work. Even if he kills me, I will never resist.
She continued to stare him down, wondering one of her cats would intervene.

(Okay! I'll try my best! Thanks! ) Hikari raced forward to keep up with Takeshi, keeping her pace brisk and urgent. She slowed as they reached the Date Clan entrance, taking a small nervous gulp. The she-cat had never been here before, let alone speak directly to Lord Masamune. As the walked through the entrance, a tom rushed toward them, lips formed up in a snarl. "Halt! What Clan from which do you hail?" he demanded, his dark gray fur bristling slightly. Hikari glanced at Takeshi. Would he speak or would she? After a brief moment, she decided she would speak, as this task was assigned to her. She then looked back at the strange tom. "We hail from SakauraClan," she told him. "We have come to speak with your daimyo, Lord Masmune. It is of the utmost importance." The tom stared at them suspiciously. "SakuraClan you say? How do I know this isn't a trap? You could be an Oda Clan cat in disguise." The Date Clan samurai thought for a moment before continuing, "If this was an important matter why didn't Lady Akiko or your commander come?" Hikari was at a loss for words. How could she convince this cat she was not the enemy, but an ally who required assistance. She was about to tell him that was for Lord Masamune to hear and not a samurai, but she didn't know how this stranger would react, but it would definitely be negative. "My companion is Takeshi, a tactician of SakuraClan, surely you recognize him?" she questioned. The tom glared at Takeshi. "Kinda, but I'm not so sure." Hikari sighed impatiently. "Look we don't have time for this!"

Takeshi didn't recognize this cat, but he was a guard, nonetheless. And Hikari seemed to be having a bit of a struggle with him. Well, sure... SakuraClan wasn't exceptionally close with the Date, but they were allies all the same. Sighing with impatience, he stepped up to take over, standing in front of Hikari as if trying to protect the she-cat.
"I am the head tactician of SakuraClan, mind you," he meowed at the guard, his gaze stern. "Do forgive our impropriety, but this is exigent. Lady Akiko and her Clan have been unexpectedly invaded by the Oda, therefore, she cannot come to warn you all on her own accord. We must get Lord Masamune's help immediately. Or, at least stored backup in the case of them attacking. Please." He hoped that at least one of them could be granted entrance to go inside. Maybe his reasons would do them enough to get in?
