So, Vicky confirmed that Warriors is going to finally be made into a film and already people have concerns. While I understand why, shouldn't we at least give it a chance first? Especially when the only thing we know about the film so far is that it'll be made by a Chinese company named Alibaba Pictures. That's literally it. We don't know the cast, the writer, the director, or any of the other stuff that goes into filmmaking—just the company.
Even if the film deviates from its source material, that isn't always a bad thing and vice versa. Same can be said for a film that sticks too close to its source material.
Point is, I think we should at least give it a chance before criticizing it first. As they say, don't knock it till you try it.

And for people complaining it would have to keep out blood and things like that. Think about it. Even if they don't distribute it to theaters, then maybe they can keep that in. The company isn't widely known, so they wouldn't have to worry about as many younger kids going to see it.
I don't know, it sounded better when I worded it in my head.

I'm still concerned about the CGI Lion King movie in the works right now.
Knowing that there is a Warriors movie makes me nervous. So far the only movies I have reference for this kind of movie is Legends of the Guardians. While it wasn't a terrible movie it deviated so badly from the books it was concerning. And that's only if they choose to got that route over 2d animation.

I see the concerns, but I agree. Let's give it a chance. My friend is hyped, but I'm calm because I probably won't be able to watch it anyways.

Fingers crossed that it doesn't end up as bad as Avatar or Percy Jackson. *shudders*

I just hope it's good. But what age will it be advertised for. What will it be rated, I mean if it was made straight from the books it would probably be M (PG-13) but this will probably be PG. Do we know which book/books it is? Mostly I hope they don't take out the matureish things and don't merge characters.

I think we should give it a chance. I'm neutral and calm on the matter, since we don't know whether it'll be good or not (we don't know if it'll actually come out or not.).
I can fully understand the concerns, but let's just see what happens. Maybe it'll be good. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I wonder what the movie would actually be like if it does happen, though. Would it have more connection to the books; with the blood, characters, and things? Or would it be something like character-mashing, and more PG-ish? I do hope it'll be more book-oriented, though.

I agree, I find it sad that so many people are already writing it off as a "childish movie" or a "musical" or threatening that if the movie is terrible, they will give up on the series. We don't know anything, like you said, but from what I've seen on the Alibaba Wikipedia page, the animals in their movie posters look very cool! They look a little live-action-ish, but I think they will be able to make it work.
Even if the movie is aimed towards kids (which is a lot of people's fear), I think it can be a good movie. Balto was aimed at children. Zootopia was aimed at children. The Lion King was aimed at children. All animated movies, all about animals. And I think these movies are masterpieces. Just because something is aimed towards a younger audience doesn't mean it can just be seen as stupid and worthless.
And for the people worried that it might be a terrible adaptation of the book like other movies have been...most of those terrible movies are made by Western producers. Maybe this will be different. This may be personal bias, but I think Asian studios handle animation beautifully. And I am hoping that since this won't be a Western-centric movie, we won't have references to pop culture or, even worse, have "popular music" in the film.
If a movie were to be made, there can definitely be fight scenes. Maybe not explicit, gory death scenes and the like, but still something that captures the emotion we all know is so strong in Warriors. I have a lot of faith, and it seems like the authors are very excited about the news as well, which is always a plus.

Fingers crossed that it doesn't end up as bad as Avatar or Percy Jackson. *shudders* Well, it probably won't have M. Night Shyamalan or Marc Guggenheim attached, so I think you should be safe from them. Of course, there don't seem to be too many Chinese animated movies, so I don't have very high expectations yet.

maybe they will do some things we want with changes. like say, get rid of Spottedleaf. if it did that, this movie would be 100% worth it
