I'm not very good, but I'm getting better.
Here is a step by step of how I made it.
Key frame sketches. These were quick and loos just to get the poses down. The timing still isn't quite there yet, but that'll come in later.
Refined all the key frames and added some breakdowns. Before doing the break downs I made sure the three primary frames were drawn in detail. Timing is closer but still not quite right. I also still need some inbetweens to smooth things out.
So the timing is accurate now... But there is a problem. One of the principles of animation is anticipation. Currently this animation has no anticipation.
So I created a few frames of anticipation and this is the result. I had to remove a couple of the frames at the begining to make this work, but I think it's better for it.
This is my favorite frame in the animation. d: Betcha didn't even notice it! You can really get away with a lot when it comes to inbetween frames. This one is so messed up because it's a smear frame. It looks totally whack on it's own but inside the animation it looks just fine.
