So in Into the Wild, Lionheart tells Graypaw who is eight moons at the time that he is almost a warrior. Does that mean that two or three moons in training is enough? I mean, Whitewing was very well past eight moons at the time of Midnight. And yes I know that Vicky said it takes individual time for every cat to become a warrior based on their abilities, but Whitewing didn't seem very far behind to me. She was older that Squirrelflight, yet she became warrior after her. Judging by her age, she should've been made warrior back in the old forest.

I believe it was stated Whitewing waited so Birchfall wouldn't be alone.

I believe it was stated Whitewing waited so Birchfall wouldn't be alone. But Birchfall was made an apprentice in the new territories, and Whitewing should've been made warrior way before that.

Whitewing asked to stay an apprentice for longer so Birchfall wouldn't be the only apprentice in the Clan. I can't remember exactly where it states that, but that's what happened ^^

Yes, Whitewing was made a warrior later, because she asked for it.
As for Into the Wild, it's just one of the weirdness of an early installment. The first two books contain a lot of elements which were phased out later. Forest of Secrets is the first book where I think they made up their minds regarding many parts of the setting. Now, it's considered standard for the training to last six moons.

Warriors is woefully inconsistent with how long an apprenticeship should last. It ranges from four months to over a year depending upon the generation. Warriors is inconsistent with everything

Yeah
Fun fact: Shrewpaw and Swiftpaw were the same age when they died. But no one, not even Shrew, called out Firestar on that
And then there's the (original) 3 who were apprentices for like 5'books...

I always imagined that Whitewing and the other apprentices were delayed for so long because of the current situation in the old forest. With everyone dying, disappearing and being driven from their camps, becoming a warrior was probably the last thing on their minds. They probably just wanted to stay safe and alive. And then by the time they reached the lake, Whitewing decided to delay her ceremony because Birchfall was almost ready to be apprenticed, and she didn't want him to be alone and have responsibility for the entire Clan on his own.

I agree with Twisterheart Squirrelflight may have become a warrior before Whitewing but there is a reason for that. You have to remember Squirrelflight went on the journey to find Midnight, which is considered a mission from StarClan. Cats who go on journeys like that gain experience that other cats who never been on a journey don't have. While its true that technically Whitewing did go on a journey, it was a journey with her Clanmates to their new home, where all decisions and actions she made were decided on by her leader. Not the same with the cats who journeyed to find Midnight. The cats who found Midnight had to think for themselves, they had to rely on their own strength, there was no back up of other warriors to protect them or a medicine cat to heal them. Squirrelflight became a warrior before Whitewing was because of her experience gained on the journey Why it took so long to make them apprentices? The Crisis was one thing, but also Whitewing remained an apprentice so Birchfall wouldn't be alone.

I like to think that they have about 6 months of warrior training, and are warriors by the time they're a year old.
However this isn't always the case.

Plus, they left them as kits in the allegiances for a while, which literally proves they just C+P their allegiances without even checking them except when a major change happens.

Also weren't Cloudtail and Brightheart both missing and being held captive by Twolegs? That's another reason Whitewing probably held her ceremony off.

Let'/ be honest though guys, Whitewing probably held her ceremony off because Sustar descended from the heavens and commanded her in the name of the holy stick to wait.
