So, I just thought of an idea of what Hollyleaf's powers could have been, and I don't really know if anyone's ever brought it up before. (showers are so wonderful for creative ideas) If you're a fan of pjo/hoo, then you'd know what charmspeak is, and although I absolutely hate all but one of Aphrodite's children in those series, the power of persuasion with your voice would've suited Hollyleaf so perfectly, and it does sound pretty cool as a power by itself.
I doubt she could tell just any cat to go ahead and off themselves or something that drastic with her powers, but using her words and feelings to convince the other cats could've been her amazing power. She wouldn't have had to die, or kill Ashfur even, but instead told him not to tell anyone their secret while they try to find another way to resolve that issue. With her strong, almost obsessive, feelings, she could've helped convince the cats in her Clan (or even all the Clans) that they had to stop training with the DF and come back to StarClan and the warrior code. That would've been so awesome, and we wouldn't have had to put up with Dovewing. Oh, the what ifs....
I feel like I've thought of this before a long time ago, but I don't think I knew to call it charmspeak. Oh well. I just wanted to say ._.'

Shape-shifting. That power was done beautifully in Seekers.

Hollyleaf should've been a Jedi.
Seriously speaking, maybe the ability to toy with memories? Like, she could reach into someone's head, and make them remember a certain event in a different way. However, it would only change the cat's perspective of the memory, and the memory itself would barely change. Obviously there'd have to be limitations to prevent her from becoming overpowered. It also would've made an interesting plot if the Clans found out about this power, and everyone distrusts Hollyleaf because of it, since she could toy with them and they wouldn't even know. I also feel like it would suit her personality.

sol comes along and midnight, for whatever reason, tells him about it and teaches him how to counter it: knowing. if you know they're a charmspeaker you can concentrate on not being influenced by them. (assuming this still applies.)
sO knOw
sol is able to be the true mvp charismatic public speaker that is persuading people to do what he wants and ruin all of which hollyleaf has worked for.
but i always thought spottedleaf would be a piper mcclean in her novella... she's probably just sol anyways so oh well,

I was thinking Hollyleaf could be a lie detector. Since she's so serious about the warrior code, she could tell apart the feelings of her Clanmates and use them to possibly rat them out.

Ah, this takes me back to my 'if the cats had powers' topic I made.
Basically, I explained that Hollyleaf would have the power to read hearts. That way she would truly be able to 'know everything' about a cat. They could not hide their real feelings and true intentions from her. This would also be a means to destroy her as well, as knowledge is power, and power corrupts.

Maybe Jayfeather would only be able to enter the dreams of cats and Hollyleaf would get the power of reading minds?

That wouldn't have worked. Why not? Unless it was actually planned from the beginning(which Hollyleaf's power was not), Hollyleaf's narration would suddenly change.

Maybe in this version you would have to want to hear things to hear them, like you always have the ability to wiggle your toes but you're not always doing it. I don't know how she'd discover her power though- maybe the kits in the tunnels are crying for help and since she's looking for them she's listening out hard and then she hears them, clear as day, despite nobody else hearing anything of the kind?

I feel like this makes sense
I do think Dovewing's power would only need some tweaking to have been applied to Hollyleaf, because with all her dwelling on wanting power, the ability to spy on others without even crossing the border seems like it would fit her enough
and I remember something about a past/present/future with Jay/Lion/Holly's powers--Jayfeather gets his powers from birth and travels into the past, Lionblaze discovers his powers while he's about to be a warrior and cannot be hurt as long as he's "in the moment" whether it's a battle or not (he can fight trees apparently…)--potentially Hollyleaf could have gotten her power last and it could have had something to do with the future, but of course it would have to be differentiated from the power of prophecy
