So, near the middle of TaS, before Needletail, some apprentices, and Violetkit leave for the rouges, ShadowClan had like, 9 Apprentices. Needlepaw, Beepaw, Sleekpaw, Strikepaw, Juniperpaw, Yarrowpaw, Lionpaw, Birchpaw and Puddlepaw. That's way too many apprentices I feel. Anyone else? Also, I'm pretty sure Tawnypelt has mentored like, 4 apprentices.

It's probably because the Erins didn't care to keep up with the allegiances from the other Clans. And in order to make ShadowClan seem bigger, they suddenly got them to have a population boost.

Well in Dark River, just about every warrior in ThunderClan was given an apprentice. They even had nine apprentices just like ShadowClan. I think it is a lot, but it feels like a lot more because we don't really know this Clan in the same perspective that we knew ThunderClan when they had just as many apprentices as they did warriors.

Yep. In the first half of POT there was Jaypaw, Lionpaw, Hollypaw, Berrypaw, Hazelpaw, Mousepaw, Cinderpaw, Honeypaw, Poppypaw, and Molepaw before he died. It just didn't seem like a lot because the Clan was well balanced with older and younger and the apprentices behaved like they should.
