So I think I failed a math test today. This math test is worth 43% of my first report card grade and about 10% of my final grade. I'm taking grade eleven math. And... it's really ridiculous, actually, because earlier today at lunch I went to go check on my previous chapter test and found out I got 98% on it. Which was great! I had a lot of difficulty with that math test and would have gotten 100% if it weren't for a silly mistake I made reading what was on the calculator. But I was satisfied with it, at the end. That was a chapter test, so it wasn't worth a lot. This is a cumulative exam. This math test I didn't even complete a question because I was getting all these weird fraction-y answers and I knew the answer was an easy number, but it had to be solved algebraically and I could not figure out how I got it at all. There were two others where I was completely 100% lost on, and I had to guess on them. I don't think I fail failed as in below 50%, but I need an 85% average to get into the courses I want in university (and 80% is my lowest standard) and I know pretty much for a fact I got well below that, into the 70's or even the 60's. I did end up crying that one chapter test that I thought I did fine on but got 78, and I'm pretty sure this one is way worse. And I feel awful complaining about it because I know there are people who are struggling to pass math class in the first place but if my grade drops below 80 I don't know what I'll do. I'd have to explain to my parents, for one. Then probably tutoring and stuff and my pride won't suffer that and even thinking about telling anyone that I am struggling in math makes me very upset-- if I can't even do grade eleven math, how am I supposed to take grade twelve math? Calculus? University level math courses? I want to be a computer programmer, so I really need math and it's just not working for me like it used to and it makes me so upset because I've never been in a situation where I wasn't good enough for something. It's just been a lot today, I'm sorry.

Most schools offer retaking in test that make up 10% of your final grade If yours does, idk if it does, you could try to study up more of the material you now know you're lacking on, and maybe ask your teacher to help you. Just because you lack in one area of math doesn't mean your awful at math, and it doesn't mean you can't improve c: What class are you taking? In 11th grade we were taught Algebra 2 and in 12th we were taught Calculus

I'll see what I get and see if I can retake it, thanks! I thought I understood everything, was the thing, but clearly I didn't get it as well as I thought it would. Grade 11 is... pre-calculus? I think? It's a lot of stuff with solving quadratic equations.

Pre-Cal dabbles in Quadratic Equations. I learned nothing in Algebra 2, so I don't know what A2 teaches, but I think it's Quadratic Equations I basically failed Pre-Cal [78?], it was the one math class I didn't pass with a 90+ But most Teachers don't mind sitting down to helping you c:
