I was having this chat on one of the forum discord groups and now I'm curious when people consider someone a friend. For me I consider everyone a friend or potential friend until they give me reason not to.

I am pretty much neutral on everybody here. I usually try to stay away from drama.

Not on here I mean in general. Like both online and in real life.

I usually follow this rule here. Treat others as you liked to be treated yourself. I feel like I get along with people good enough.

I guess when we get comfortable enough around each other to chat and joke around and stuff? Once we have inside jokes, maybe. And once I feel comfortable letting my guard down a little bit around them, I guess.

when I feel comfortable talking to the person & I enjoy their company even if I don't talk to them 24/7, I'd still consider them a friend

OOC: Idk prob when I feel comfortable talking to them about my problems and knowing they won't like...judge or whatever. So basically if I have vented to you about my problems, you're my friend.

Online - When we have talked more than three time positively, that's when I start to assume we're friends. And then we follow each other. I'm mainly netural on this site though, but I have a few friends.
In Real Life - When we constantly talk, share jokes, and we both get to know each other's personality better.

I'm really quiet when I'm not comfortable, so whenever I find that instead of having trouble contributing anything, I can't stop talking.

When we find out we have some obscure thing in common. Or if we share friends

tbh i never feel like someone's actually my friend online until it's been stated or it's been a ridiculously long amount of time with regular interaction. i'm always afraid i'll assume we're friends and say it and they'll be like "haha what i hate u?? what r u talking about" sooo
in real life if i don't like someone automatically i don't really give them much of a chance. if they press on and i start to like them, that's chill too. but either way it'll take a while of regular interactions to consider someone my friend, or again it needs to be explicitly stated.

I'm pretty neutral on everyone here. Basically so long as no one gives me a reason to not like them they have a chance at being my friend. Like there's gotta be a certain level of mutual respect.
