"we should probably go before, the new cards sell out." Kyle pointing his thumb in the direction of the shop. "they'll have more, but...these are the new ones."

Amanda nodded and started walking again. As the trio approached the shop, she looked into the window. Sure enough, there was a poster for the new cards there, complete with the Pokemon mascot, Pikachu. She gently pushed open the door and entered.

"the pokemon packs are over there." Kyle says pointing to where a row of card packs lined against the wall, ach sorted by region. another poster was on the wall, it showed to people playing the game, along with the words Up Coming Pokemon Card Tournament. "you can only buy one pack though, unless you can win the up coming tournament, you can get another there as a prize." the man behind the counter says, In a uncaring tone.

At least that'll give me time to get used to the cards... Amanda chose one of the Sinnoh packs and went to the counter to buy it.

After she paid and put the change away, Amanda opened the pack. The first four cards were just basic pokemon: Zubat, Starly, Happiny, and Budew. However, there were some evolved pokemon as well: Machoke and Pikachu. Machoke would probably be the most useful, since it had the most moves and was evolved. However, she had a soft spot for Budew, as weak as it was. Maybe it was because she loved grass-types.

"I got some Sinnoh pokemon. All but two are non-evolved, but they're still pretty useful," Amanda replied. She might even be able to train and evolve them, just like in the games. She held out her cards so Kyle could see them.

Kyle looked over the cards she had, the Budew and Zubat would have to be trained, since they both only had one attack. "you'll have to tain Budew and Zubat, so they can have at least two attacks." Kyle says, after looking over the cards. "oh and these cards are 'made' so they show the current level, attacks and image of the pokemon, even if it evolves." he said made with empashis, to show he meant the actually pokemon sealed in them.

Lucky you... Amanda thought, but stopped herself. No sense in being bitter over this. After all, she liked her Budew. "Should I go out and train Budew, then?" she asked, looking at the adorable grass-type.

"Darkrai is actually more of a Mythical pokemon." Kyle says, before nodding to amanda. "and yeah, just be careful, there are a few pokemon card players who you should clear of." Kyle says.

Amanda nodded. That made sense. If the wrong people had the power to call out pokemon, then they could use them for bad things. She went outside and, making sure that nobody was around, held out her card. "Come on out, Budew!" Within seconds, a little green bud-like pokemon appeared. It looked around curiously before walking up to Amanda. She crouched down to get a better look at it... and sneezed. Right. Budew's bud was full of pollen.

As the door opened, Amanda turned around to see Michael. She tried to hide Budew, but the little grass-type was already waddling over to the new human. She sighed. Well, the truth would come out sooner or later. Besides, she had a strange feeling that he would have the power, too.

"alright, then-" Kyle started to say, but Michael had already went outside and he followed him outside. he saw Budew was out and nearly fell over, realizing they were practically in the open. "when I said train, I meant away from town...where no would see..."

"Er- sorry. Budew, return." Amanda sheepishly held out Budew's card. Said Budew was already nuzzling Michael's leg when it was recalled. "Nobody was really around, though. I tried to summon it near the back of the shop, but I guess it was too friendly..."

Cacnea(Careful) - Poison Sting, Leer
{all your pokemon cards will start on Level 1 and will have a max of 4 attacks, they will still grow levels, gain attacks, but can only evolve when you get the right card.}
