Hi there, everyone. Um... It's been a while, so I honestly don't know if anyone remembers me. Nevertheless, I used to be a semi active part of the WFF, and... lately, I miss it. I've rather avoided reposting my 'fics on here and I'm not even completely sure why. (Maybe it's my lack of time. Or maybe that I'm not sure if I can use my school computer to come on here.) But I do miss this section of the forums, and I miss the people I used to know here.
I was wondering if anyone might like to talk to me, over the next few hours, days, or whatever it may be, about some writing ideas and things I've missed in the WFF and more? Maybe I'll end up being more active here again, who knows.

Hey :3 I'm kind of in the same boat. A long time ago I was pretty active on wff and these days I always want to post one of my old fanfics but between lack of time and the fact that I never finished the original version of the story, I haven't gotten around to editing it and posting it yet.
As for writing ideas, what kind of stuff do you want to write? Like, what kind of type (fanfic? original?) and genre?

I'm pretty sure, unless I'm thinking of a different person... they finished a fanfic that I read all of and then started on a sequel to that one, I think. I don't remember if the sequel was finished as well or not. I thought their sn was Darkpool but I guess it could have been something else that was just similar. x3

That probably was me, I guess. I was Darkpool on the old forums as well (minus fancy lettering)- I completed the first book of Snowkit's Story and then I started a currently unfinished sequel to it :3

*Ɗαɾƙρσσℓ*: Well, I'm mainly thinking of posting a completely new fanfiction, if anything. But... That's if I have the time, because I have a truckload of homework all the time, and very little time to write or do anything else I like :'P but it would be nice... @thewolfsshadow: thank you (:

Windsong hey! let me just pop in to encourage you to post that completely new fanfiction. i started a new fic here in august and i didn't think i'd have much time to write, either, but as of yesterday i'm at eight chapters and counting. if you want to write, then do it! if you manage your time right, you'll have an hour or two here and there to sit and write. if you're working on math homework or something technical, take a break and write. let your brain take a break from doing technical work and let it be creative. that lets the side of your brain that handles math recharge, and when you return to your math you'll be more productive. tips from my advisor there. anyway, i'd love to read anything you can produce. i will be your cheerleader. write! :P

eph 💕Ahh, thank you so much for the encouragement (: and as for the tips... I guess I can try! I'll try jotting down some notes at some point and see if anything comes of it. I guess it can't hurt, right? The only issue for me aside from time would be making the actual thread nice on mobile... do you think people would care?

my thread is literally just the words of the story. fanciness is never worth more than the story itself. it's nice to have, but in the end the story is what matters. (;

Windsong I have a ton of schoolwork too, having no time for anything fun is awful xP but if you wanna start a new fanfic, like Ephemeral I'd love to hear about it and read it if/when you decide to post it! I don't have many tips for making time for writing- only thing that's helped me is to try approaching it like flash-fiction- write what I can in ten or fifteen minutes, without worrying about mistakes/plot errors/continuity. Then when I do find a few free hours to write/edit/plan more carefully, it's easier to get motivated if I already have the general gist of things on paper. What's your fanfic gonna be about? :3

eph 💕 ...I see what you mean. I can sort of code, so maybe I'll try to add some coding to make it just slightly fancy? c; *Ɗαɾƙρσσℓ* awww, thank you. That does make sense to me, although I'm a perfectionist a lot of the time with my warriors writing for some reason, haha. I don't have much yet, but I did write a one shot a long time ago, We Can't All be Kings, that might make an interesting starting point. The only issue being that it's almost more tribe-oriented, yet not entirely tribe-like. Sort of complicated.

ᴇᴍʙᴇʀ ✴ if you had the same name on the old forums, your sn is familiar to me as well (: (It's quite fine, my memory can be faulty as well.) I wrote In Flight as my main fanfiction, as well as Synchronicity, which was rather short when the forums shut down, Shattered Blossoms, and Under One Sun. The last one sadly never got far... I should revisit it sometime. I also wrote a lot of oneshots.

yeah, I had the same name on the old forums too. it's been the same.
hmm.. the tiles sound familiar but I'm not quite sure if I remember reading them. In Flight definitely sounds familiar
honestly I haven't been very active myself. I've gotten too busy with schoolwork and marching band, so I'm focusing all my free time on either a) sleep or b) writing my original works. I just wanted to pop back in for a bit though bc I've missed this place. it seems like a lot of people have gone, though, which is upsetting, but that's life.

I always want to make my writing perfect on the first try so actually getting myself to start writing is horrible lol
One-shots can be a good starting place! And you'll have something already prepped to work with :3 What was the plot of the one-shot about?
And writing things that aren't directly about clan/tribe cats is totally fine. One of my older fics was about a family of rogues that had no tie to the tribe or clans. As long as its vaguely tied to the warriors world I think it counts. Complicated can be good with some stories- it makes for a more interesting plot/world/characters.

Hey everyone!
I got a little tip to share that I picked up from one of my favorite authors: when you write don't bother looking back on whether it's spelled right or capitalized, ect. Just write what is on your mind and try to get it all written/typed down before you lose that momentum. Then once you are done go back and edit. I find that I'm much more willing to write more if I try to ignore grammar mistakes and then re-read over it after and catch them then. This is especially great (from what I found) when I'm ding a back and forth dialogue or a fight scene.
I'm currently in the middle of humanizing my fan-fiction world. It's been super fun so far! I have forgotten how limiting writing cats is compared to writing humans.

ᴇᴍʙᴇʀ ✴ I do think I remember you commenting on one of my fanfics... Well. I guess everyone is inactive on the forums sometimes. A lot of people really have left, or just didn't move over here - it's a little sad sometimes. But at least the WFF still seems to have a bit of a community feel to it (: *Ɗαɾƙρσσℓ* yeah, that happens all the time xD The focus of the one shot was a pair of tribes, one with a hierarchy similar to that of a fantasy/medieval kingdom and the other more distinctly feral. The protagonist was the only son of the king of the first tribe, and the main conflict was an ongoing war between the tribes. I wish I could remember more... because it's lost now, both the original document I wrote it in and the version posted on the old forums. » ѕнαdσω ⚔️ thank you for the tips, Shadz! (I actually got back to writing humans a while back - now I really love it again.)
