I mean, I know Ivypool and Dovewing's pelts are both similar to his, but.. that's not how cat genetics work, and if Ashfur really loved Whitewing, then he wouldn't have had his tantrum with Squirrelflight.
I really don't understand this theory, and people still believe this, at least on YouTube. Just because Birchfall doesn't look like the father doesn't mean he isn't the father. Ashfur and Whitewing barely spoke. If Ashfur moved on, then he would have gotten over Squirrelflight.

I really don't get this either. Which reminds me, I remember reading this one fanfic where it depicted Ashfur and Whitewing as mates and Birchfall was extremely jealous and tried to tear them apart. In the end, it had Whitewing give birth to Dovewing and Ivypool as Ashfur's kits.
Besides, Whitewing and Birchfall both have family that have gray pelts, Ashfur included.
I see no reason why Whitewing would lie about their parentage either, considering that both she and Ashfur were warriors in the same Clan. And like you said, if Ashfur did take Whitewing as a mate, then why still get revenge against Squirrelflight? Then again, there's also the theory that if he was the father of Dovewing and Ivypool, it wasn't... consensual. Still, despite everything, I don't think even Ashfur would go that far.

For some reason people have accepted the fact genetics is screwed when it comes to this series. Except for Dovewing and Ivypool. They are somehow an exception and must be made with realistic genetics so Ashfur must be the father! He is the only gray male cat in ThunderClan when they were conceived, so he must be the father! /s
I'm just glad the theory isn't that Graystripe is their real father.
