I don't know if it was ever answered. But now I'm getting pop-up add. As in, they take me to another webpage and say 'Your Webpage Will Be Restored in 10 Seconds" and it count downs. Only it doesn't return you to the previous webpage. It just sits there. I go back to this website and everything goes on as normal. It's gotten the pop-up twice now in the last two times I've logged on. I've did a scan, as was suggested in the topic I looked at a little time ago made by someone having the same trouble. Was there ever a solution?

I could suggest AdBlock but it's against the ToS
I mean I use it and nothings happened to me but I don't know, it's personal preference.
And if nothing popped up in your scan then I don't know what
Ads are generally based on your search history, but you could try clearing cache, cookies, && history

But I clear my history often. And it's not so much the adds content, but the fact that they randomly take over my screen. I can try clearing my history more, but I don't really think it is the problem. |

cookies are what decide what ads pop up, I believe

Yes, I think so to. But will lack of cookies stop the pop-up ones? I'll try it and find out. You can lock this if you want.

This still happens to me. It's changed, though- it keeps sending me to a most likely scam "Urgent Chrome Update" without even loading. It happens when I reply to posts and stuff like that. And yes, I'm using chrome, but it's just annoying at this rate.
