((Aw - well, see u around, Flicker!)) "Huh? I am?" Ari said, confused. "Why are you laughing?" He looked over at Mycle, who was patting Shafer on the back and trying to hold back snickers himself. "What?" "Sorry," Mycle said, placing a hand over his smile. "It's just that - it was a little dramatic, that's all." Ari stared, then stepped back and threw a hand to his chest with an offended gasp. "Dramatic?!?"Shafer gave a sob-like laugh as he turned his head away from Ari, staring back where they came from in order to avoid laughing to the point of tears. How was that man so dorky and attractive at the same time. He'd have to hire some sort of pschologist when they got out of this. When they got out of this. If they got out of this. Careful, Shafer. "You're beautiful, Ari," he told him in that wrecked, post-laugh voice of his as he finally turned back and started urging Mycle to continue walking.

((Yeeeees villainsss - I too love the storylines that point out how "goodness" is societal rather than inherent, like how if someone disagrees with most of the rules/customs of a world they can quickly become an enemy if they act as such. Ahh it's so exciting ~ Oh yeah, since people are still finding each other, people can probably find other people's stuff, like Belle's gun and Mycle's crutches, that'd be cool when everyone's together and it's like "did someone lose a gun?" "oh yeah that's mine"))
Ari pouted as Mycle and Shafer only collapsed into more laughter, crossing his arms and slouching. "Well, I'm not talking to you two ever again," he grumbled. And then Shafer called him beautiful. He ended up sputtering like a fool as Shafer and Mycle began walking past him. "Wait what was that a genuine compliment wait I need to know-"
((And someone comes into view at this point?? either lindy and co or belle and co, I'm a little turned around at where everything is now, i'm pretty sure there's a hill))

(Oh yeah, maybe I'll have Toby pick up Belle's other gun while they're on the beach. In any case, have you watched the anime Psycho-Pass? It's 100% my favorite anime and one of my favorite stories in general; it gets very, very into morality, ethics, social norms, and that sort of thing. Extremely philosophical. On the same note, Homestuck is another good one [bear with me] because when you look more into the troll society that can get pretty into how morality is based on culture; ie, murder is normal in troll culture because it's based on survival of the fittest/strongest, and kindness or mercy is weakness and therefore disadvantageous to the species as a whole)

((Oh oh, I heard that Psycho-Pass was a great one! I havent watched it yet tho - now I'm def going to Also I have to admit I havent read Homestuck yet - I think I got confused on whether or not I was reading the right one and sort forgot about it? I really need to return to it though, it's almost a cultural thing for the Internet now))

(Tis very much a cultural thing for the internet now lol, or for our generation on a whole really. They're coming out a video game eventually too, which will take place on Alternia [the troll homeworld] so we might actually get some CANON troll culture other than what little we hear from the characters, so that'll be cool. Good for roleplay XD )

(Tobias could pretty easily go either way depending on how a situation pushed him. Like, I doubt he'd become outright "evil," but if he felt it was necessary he could do some pretty awful things. So, looking forward to that lol. And is it Kailey or Tobias's turn to respond? I thought it was yours but I could be wrong)

(I have this idea where I think every character should end up being a "villain" in at least one universe. Obviously some will repeatedly be more villainous, while others will almost never be, but I think it would be interesting to put characters who are otherwise good into the position of the badguy, whether they intend for that to be the case or whether it's accidental. I'm a big fan of the "no one is inherently good or evil" type scenarios.)
Tobias let out a snort of wry amusement. "Well, New York like everyone else to begin with. Then Orlando. What about you?" He was still keeping an eye out on the beach for anything else to catch his eye, but it was mostly just bits of plane and some scattered clothing from peoples' luggage- not anything particularly exciting.
(sorry for short post)
"I was staying in New York actually, meeting a few friends in the Upper West side," Kailey said. She kept her gaze on the forest, trying to see past the dense foliage for any sign of life. She was curious to know what lived in there, more particularly what could kill them. She knew that at the most there could some sort of large cat, but she was more nervous about poisonous snakes and spiders. She decided to keep an eye on the forest, but to continue a conversation, both to keep her nerves at ease and to try and gain some trust. If there were other people, she wanted to be certain that at least one of them wouldn't kill her. Otherwise she was bunkering down on the opposite side of the island and carving spears... well probably not, she'd probably stay with majority until it looked like she was on the bottom. Kailey quickly realized how crazy all of her thoughts were and internally sighed. She shouldn't worry, she needed to trust them. They were probably all from the same crash, they had to stick together. "What's in Orlando?" [ it's my turn x3 sorry, I got a little busy yesterday ]

"Besides Disney World? My mom. She's in the hospital for a car crash. It was pretty bad but she's doing okay now," he added quickly. "So what were you doing in London then, if you live in New York? If you don't mind me asking. Wait, one sec." He noticed what looked like a gun barrel half-buried in the sand and trotted over, regarding it carefully before he uncovered it, picking it up and checking to make sure the safety was on and if it was loaded. Then he looked around in the nearby sand for a sign of any discarded shells, but saw none.
"Weird," he commented as he turned back to Kailey. "I don't think this is the one that we heard though; it looked like it's been sitting there being buried for a while. And I don't see any shells from the round that was fired. Still, looks like there was a gun enthusiast on the plane; keep an eye out, there might be more, and we certainly don't want the wrong people getting their paws on them."
(what kind of gun was it again? And is this one loaded/with ammo nearby?)

((Hmm, I think it was a Colt Python - not sure if it's loaded tho edit: okay, just checked the past pages, it is a Colt Python and there's ammunition somewhere nearby))
Lindy looked between the two unconscious people and up towards the top of the hill. Larry's unconscious, and Riandylan just ran to meet some other people. Belle and Mason are limping. A feeling of uncertainty and dread tugged at her. "Okay," she told herself, breathing deeply. "You can do this. What's the first thing to do?" She checked for any immediate dangers, but luckily there was no wild animal or tree threatening to fall on them. She carefully checked that the two were still alive, just in case they died on her in the last couple of moments. She checked for obvious injuries like cuts and abnormally twisted limbs, and took another breath to calm herself. "Get them out of the sun, into a safe space," she muttered, surveying the space around her. They were at the base of a hill, branches and leaves twisting from the ground on one side with the sandy beach stretching out on the other side. She walked over to a sandy area where the trees shaded the ground and quickly cleared it of sharp rocks and branches. Then, beginning with the woman, carefully rolled her onto her back, making sure not to twist her torso in case her spinal cord was injured (Lindy didn't notice any signs but she still wanted to be careful). Since both the woman's arm and legs were injuried, Lindy gripped her sweatshirt and slowly dragged her across the sand. Once she was safe in the shade, Lindy hurried over to the man. His head was bloody, but she didn't see immediate injuries on his limbs so she took his arms by the elbow, raising them above the head and squeezing the elbows against the head to keep it steady and off the ground, and dragged him to rest next to the woman.
Once that was done, she wanted to take care of the wounds. The head wounds always look worse, she reminded herself, though her stomach twisted. She took off her jacket and made way to the ocean - she knew saltwater was good for bacteria, and at least there was some source of water to at least clean the blood with. After soaking the sleeves, she hurried back and began wiping the blood from the man's face and head and the woman's leg and arm where the blood leaked from her makeshift bandages. She then tied her jacket around the man's head, keeping the wet sleeves out of the way, in a makeshift bandage for now. She'd need to get Larry's materials to change the bandages of the woman.
Lindy panted as she walked over to where Larry lay knocked out, wiping the sweat from her forehead and retying her hair. "Sorry sir, I'm going to have to take your supplies," she told him apologetically. And she did so, making sure to keep Belle's words in mind and using only the bare minimum. She rebandaged the woman's leg and handled her arm as carefully as she could. She couldn't help her instinctive urge to look away from the woman's scars, to keep from staring. She bandaged the man's head and gathered the bloody clothing that were used for bandaging and hauled them to wash them in the ocean. She knew they were going to dry salty, but at least they weren't going to be stiff with dried blood. She hung them from a low-hanging branch and sank beside the still-unconscious bodies, keeping watch. Lindy wished that she could call 911, but they were trapped on an island with no sign of civilization save the pieces of plane and luggage littering the sand and the injured people who call desperately for someone to find them.
Just the thought sank her into hopeless melancholy. How on earth were they going to survive?
They still needed to build the rock message. And search through the luggage and pieces of plane on the beach for belongings, useful items, and resources. And find a source of clean water. And food. And find Belle's other gun. Hopefully the gunshot had gathered everyone on the island by now - though Ari and Mycle weren't here. She bit her lip and folded her arms over her knees bent to her chest, resting her head on top of her arms.

"Guys," he said, interrupting Ari and then flushing when he realized it. "I mean... look." He pointed at the others - it looked like one was sitting, smaller than the woman who stood with a makeshift crutch. Ari looked over. "Well, look at that." He waved his arm, holding his stick tightly in one hand. "Hey!"

Belle heard the calls of several people in the distance, we'll, not too distant. She gave Mason a puzzled look before turning to the other people. She wished she didn't have the crutch with her, she needed to appear strong and able to hold herself up. "Over here!" She called to them, her hand went to her gun holster but she didn't reveal it yet. Belle wanted to see these people first. If they found her gun though, she could only hope they were not the wrong people. If they were, her last hope was that either a) she takes them out first or they had no clue how to use a gun.

Ari walked in front, looking back to check on Mycle and Shafer's progress, before he grew close enough to the other two where he could speak without shouting to be heard. "Sup," he said. "Good to know there are more people who aren't dead." There came a murmur from Mycle nobody could make out, but he shrank back and didn't specify his words. Ari frowned, then lit up as if he remembered something. "Oh yeah! We heard a gunshot - did you hear that too?"
|
|
|

Belle looked at him, eyes not searching elsewhere, she wanted to make sure he knew who he was speaking to "Yes it is good to know there are more people alive." She supported more of her weight on her foot instead of the crutch to try and stand a little taller. "I heard it of course. I'm the one who fired it." She told him simply. Belle would have held out her hand for him to shake but she didn't want to remove her hand from the gun in case these people weren't as friendly as they came out to be.

The torrent of uncertainty, fear, and suspicion that played across Ari's face was pretty obvious. "Oh," he said, shifting a little to put himself more in between the stranger and the others. "Cool, I guess." He quickly caught sight of the gun holster she kept her hand on. He couldn't get a grasp of whether or not she wanted to shoot them in her tone - he wasn't sure whether or not the gunshot had been for self-protection, for a call for help, or for another purpose entirely. Her statement that she fired it made him uneasy, that she wanted them to know that she had a weapon and knew how to use it. How'd she even get a gun, anyway? Lucky. "Why'd you fire it?"

Belle held a smile back from forming across her face at the prospect that she made them at least slightly intimidated. She raised an eyebrow and looked around him to see the other people that came with this man. They were a very mixed group to say the least. The short one looked out of place most certainly. "Why? To get the survivors together. I did not think there was more than just the two others I met at first. But before we get into story time, I need names." Belle told him, leaving nor room for argument or a disagreement of any sort. She noticed how his gaze went to her hand where the Glock was, and was glad he knew she had something on her.

Ari really didn't like her tone - it reminded him of teachers and his mom telling him what to do and he had no choice but to do so. It irritated him, really. "Sure, call me Santa Clause," he said in that bitter I'm not going to do what you say way.
Mycle made a nervous sound. Everything about this screamed bad bad bad. He kind of wanted to speak up, but the other person scared him. He instead slid his arm from Shafer's shoulders and hid behind him, staring away from the scene.

Belle looked at this person up and down before replying, "I'm not trying to be rude if that is what you are assuming but I'm trusting that you understand that people become wary around strangers?" Belle implied herself in that situation. "Especially more than one. Let's start over then." Belle took a deep breath and added a slight smile, it look just ever so slightly forced. "I'm Belle. Belle Friesenhahn." She took her hand off of her gun but turned a little so he could not grab the if he tried.
