Honestly, the harder you go, the more bonus points you get. Let's get Controversial™. Or just call me out. Your pick.

How would you describe your style of clothing Will you fight me in a dark alley Do you have any pets? That's hard, tbh? My school has a strict uniform that's borderline a dress code with a few exceptions, so I spend most of my time dressed for that. I guess I'm usually kind of casual, but not sweatpants casual, so really just... generic and mediocre, lmao. There are also things I like that I'm too practical and self-aware to just casually wear in public, so that's part of it, too. I can name twenty people on this site that I would fight in a dark alley, but I'm pretty undecided on you. You're hard to pin down. I'm going for a tentative no. Nope. I've always wanted a dog, though.

How do you feel about the Discourse™ that seems to occur quite frequently? Honestly? I am the discourse. But seriously, if you're referring to the LGBT discourse, I'm a lesbian, so that probably answers it right there. If you're referring to the constant bickering here in general, I would enjoy peace, but only after something constructive goes down. If nothing changes, imo, then the tension is going to stay, and if the tension stays, no matter how many threads we make or how separate the different sides stay, arguments are going to bubble up again. I honestly can't tell you what changes need to be made, or if they're even possible, which is why I'm a user and not a moderator, but with the way things are, discourse is inevitable.

is your actual birthday in december?
Nope! It's in March. I like the general December aesthetic, and it's also the month the beginning of the book I'm writing is set in, so that's where the name comes from. (And this December is my five-year anniversary with that same book, which I only realized just now, but is still pretty wild?)

how do i make friends

Just talk to people casually, honestly. Don't go into the conversation going "these people have to be my new friends for life," because you might come on too strong and scare them away, and you're definitely going to overthink everything that happens. Like, you'll constantly be worrying about whether or not you're annoying them and stuff, and that's no good. Learn to trust that most people won't immediately hate you, and that you'd know if they were annoyed. Beyond that, just go with the flow. If you're compatible as friends, then it'll start happening. Like, I've had anxiety all my life, and I used to get super stressed about building friendships, but once I learned to let go and let things happen, everything fell into place. Does that make sense? Don't pressure yourself, and don't pressure them. Just roll with it. As for finding people, just talk to people in your classes. Start with actual school stuff, like complaining about the teacher or commiserating on a bad grade, and you'll eventually move into naturally talking about other things as well.

i wasn't expecting a serious, thought-out response wow but thanks, this was actually pretty helpful i'm such a bad conversationalist so usually small talk dies out awkwardly with me, and i'm really jealous of my friend who can talk about anything really easily.

Yeah, I understand. When it comes to a school setting, I tend to stick to school stuff, because that makes it a lot easier than discussing, like, the weather. Everyone has an opinion on that one really hard class or rude teacher, you know? And no problem! Good luck with the friends thing.

kat - Like... for what? I'm kind of confused by the question. I like kids, though. They're great. 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 - I like writing? I feel like that's The Hobby. Not that there's not other stuff going on in my life, but it's also gonna get eclipsed in the hobby question, lmao. I never know how to answer that? I'm actually not a big music person. I can't really focus well when it's on, especially when I have earphones in. My music taste is also embarrassingly mainstream? Like, just go find a top forty chart. You got me. You seem nice! We don't talk much, but we're cool. First of all, thanks! Second of all... I don't really know? I would describe myself as easygoing in general conversation, but fierce about my beliefs, so I think it's that. If we're talking about, like, favorite ice cream or what we did last night, I'm gonna be pretty lowkey about it. If we're talking about human rights and stuff, I don't really back down. It's kind of a weird combo, ngl? Like... am I chill? Yes... but also no. I like penguins? They're a fun time. Also, dogs, tigers, and aesthetically birds, although I don't know anything about any of them.

How long have you been a member of the forums?? Favorite type of penguin (going off of your last answer lol)? These forums? Since probably August, lmao. The originals? I joined in 2010, so six years. I think they're all cute, but rockhoppers were my childhood favorite, so those, I guess? But I support every penguin.

What religion are you if you have one? Who do you support in 2016 election? How old are you? Don't have to answer any if you don't want I'm agnostic! I think I've talked about it before, but basically, my belief system is a lot of hazy, undefined, shifting question marks. I reluctantly support Hillary Clinton, because Donald Trump - okay, a lot of ~forum inappropriate~ things. I hate that dude. I definitely don't trust her, but I would take basically anything over Trump right now. I'm a high school senior.

whats ur fav candy? best tv shows? fav movie? Possibly Kit-Kats? But it really depends. The only thing I ever watch is like, Food Network, because I'm actually a forty-year-old stay-at-home mom, I guess. Same with movies? I haven't watched a movie not for school in a long time.

It's a pretty solid time. I don't have cable either, RIP.
