Something to occupy your hands with is a good idea. So sketching is good. Sleeping passes time, so you could bring a pillow and blanket. Music is also a time passer. forexample, my 2 hour drive from home to my campus passes so much quicker when I listen to music on my phone. Simple snacks, such a snake cakes, won't create much of a mess like chips, and will fill your stomach while you ride.
That is all I can currently think of.

last month i went on a roadtrip and was in the car for over 40 hours in one week. it was torture. my only saving grace was a pillow and a jacket so i could be comfortable and warm. i couldnt sleep in the car but at least it was soft
honestly just make sure you go to rest stops frequently so you can get out and stretch ur legs. ur gonna be bored, thats inevitable, but making good conversation w whoever is in the car can help pass the time

I’ve been on 8 hr. trips before, the whole experience is tedious Bring a pillow and a blanket, obviously—you’ll want to sleep Make sure to get/bring some snacks, but don’t eat too much, just nibble slowly I bring this thing called a Boogie Board to draw; if you don’t have one a free drawing app will suffice Download plenty of non-wifi games on your device; fast-paced games are best so you don’t have to wait for any monsters to hatch or anything If you have an iPhone, keep it on low power mode Bring a cold drink of water in a thermos, but don’t drink too much Your legs will get stiff, just a warning
