So, my cat Bella is declawed (she came to us that way. My family is against declawing but nothing we can do about it now sadly) which means she's not allowed outside. She never expressed interest in going outside anyways so it's like whatever.
But a few nights ago, my mom woke me up saying she couldn't find Bella. I was like, "she slept with me last night so she's probably hiding" so we thought nothing of it. Well, I went to my other house (the newly built one) for the day, and I was chatting with my brother. He said he woke up and the back door was open. I still thought much of it, since he said the gate (the one inside to separate Bella from the dogs) was still closed. And I didn't think she could jump that gate.
Well, fast forward to when I went home and still couldn't find her. I was starting to panic, went outside and started calling for her (she responds to her name sometimes. Plus, I make a swishy sound with my mouth that signals every cat I own that food is coming) but she didn't show up. I give up, thinking my little Bella baby is gone forever. I go inside and once I close the door I hear a really loud yowl. I think "has to be a stray, Bella doesn't yowl ever, her meow sounds like a kitten!" But I open the door anyways just in case, and Bella bolts inside like something was after her. She runs to my parents room, and I follow her and cuddle her and kiss her. Which I'm sure annoyed her.
Point is, she's home, and I am never letting her out again. If my brother or dad leave the door open and she escapes.... I'm kicking them somewhere vulnerable (my mom is the most responsible of us, so I trust her lol)

Oh jeez, that doesn't sound fun. At least she came running back!
A few years ago, I had recently gotten another cat who we called Amber. Amber really wanted to explore outside, like badly. All of our cats are strictly indoor cats because we live in a very wooded area with coyotes, so yeah, none of them can go outside. Well, Amber decided to run outside which I was letting my dogs out, again. Only this time, she decided to hide around the house before running into the woods. Needless to say, we spent hours looking for her only to find her deep into the woods, chilling on a tree stump. Thanks Amber.

I know the feeling. All of our cats are indoor only, but a couple like to try and sneak out. So we have to be super careful about the doors and when we come in. We literally have to like squeeze through the crack of the door sometimes xD
also @christa your text box scrolly thing is super spoopy and cool
