...when the 'wimpy' characters are always like, "Oh, my blood sugar/glucose levels is/are low, I need to eat right now (" and it's just passed off as humor. I mean, seriously? That's not funny to me. I really struggle with that, and it makes me mad to see how they use it for humor. I have issues with my blood sugar becoming too low easily, and I have to eat around every 2 hours to make sure that doesn't happen. Even then, I've gotten sick multiples times in the past, and recently, nearly fainted (I was basically seeing all black). I don't understand why people think it's cool to tease about it.
And another thing: 'wimpy' characters in some shows can be seen constantly carrying asthma and using it. Seriously? My mom used to have asthma, and that wasn't funny. She really hated it, and didn't like her medicine at all. It was scary knowing she had it, since I never knew if something might trigger an asthma attack. As far as I know, she's never had one (at least since I've been born), but it was still scary. I was always afraid that something might happen to her, and seeing those shows display it in a 'humorous' way really just made me want to write an angry letter. But I didn't... I just stewed in my anger, then served my rant to a catbeardog forum.
*sighs* This randomly just made me mad while doing dishes, so I decided to vent. Not going to apologize, since there's really no need.

I feel ya.
That's one of the reasons why I don't bother watching TV shows anymore. (With the exception of one, and that's not often.)

Amen to this. I have both asthma and sensitive bloosugar, and the way people use it as a punchline or a way to confirm that the character is the 'weak one' - in real life and in fiction - is something that bothers me a lot.
