So Basically a really long time ago Scourge was a much hated cat. Then after his book the Rise of Scourge he had a surge of popularity.
There seems to be more mixed feelings about him and I'm curious as to how the fan base feels about him now.

I believe his actions are understandable given the situation he was in but, that doesn't mean they were right. Getting attacked as a kit, having to survive in Twolegplace, and dealing with rogues easily explains why he was harsh and cruel. With all that in mind, it still doesn't excuse his actions.

You've got it the wrong way.
He got a manga because he was popular.

I simply can't stand his decision For one thing, his decision to trust Ruby about unwanted kittens being thrown in the river. Why? Why would he trust his siblings who always bullied him and tried to make his life miserable? Why didn't he ask Quince, his supportive and caring mother? Well even if she was mean to him had Ruby ever really lied to him? Not really. Especially not abot how they felt about him. And Scourge didn't believe Ruby until he noticed that none of the Twolegs were paying attention to him no matter what he did. He could have asked Quince but he was just a kitten basically a child. And a lot of children take things at face value. Also not every child asks their parents before they do something stupid. Not only that but given how Scourge believed his mother favored his littermates more than him (Which she kinda did...even if it might have been unintentional) I don't think he would have believed her, at least not right away. Or I feel like Quince would have thought he was being silly and not taken him seriously since she didn't believe the story about him sneaking out into the forest. Would she have believed that he thought the twolegs were going to kill him? She might have thought he was playing a game and joined in.

I have a love-hate relationship with him. I love Scourge for his development, but I hate him for what he's done to small, defenseless Violet.
