Isis looked at Shiro, her partner and team leader. She raised an eyebrow. "What kind of saying is that? It makes no sense." Her team was weird. The peacock was...well...blank? She wasn't sure what they were. Then there was the girl with the birds. She was the only human in their group, but that didn't matter to her. If she wasn't cool with Faunus, she was outnumbered. Not much she could do. If she was cool with Faunus, then there was nothing to worry about in that area. She still seemed...meek though. That was two that weren't people persons. Shiro looked like she would at least make an attempt, which was better than nothing she supposed. Still, she didn't know if she would even be able to call her teammates friends at this point. So bland and boring. Maybe some of the other students would be more fun to hang around. Her tail flicked behind her as she crossed her arms. "Anyways, I'm cool with heading to our room. Gotta unpack and all."

Well Shiro and Isis could just start talking if you want. Or maybe we just pretend that Larimar is following? Luxia could fall back in case Sappho shows up and stuff?))

Sappho would probably be asleep right now she won't be back until early tomorrow. Perhaps I can leave Luxia behind)
Shiro beamed and shrugged. "My family is one of the oldest Faunus families so we have weird sayings. Another is that you should always sharpen your blade thrice on each side four times a day and twice a night." Shiro began to walk off towards the dorms and she looked at her partner. They were strange in her opinion but there was nothing she could do about that. "Are you a Sphinx Faunus? I've seen images in these books my family has in the study."

I keep forgetting that Sappho lives across the Atlantic.))
Isis shook her head. "Your family has a bunch of weird sayings. Maybe you should refrain from telling us them. You know, to keep us from giving you looks." She of course meant mostly her. She walked next to Shiro, her bare feet not making a sound against the floor. She definitely walked with confidence and grace. She smirked and brushed some hair out of her face. "I am indeed. People like me are super rare." It was near impossible that there was more than one Faunus like a Sphinx or something similar. It's why they were usually considered legends, and put on pedestals. Not that Isis liked that as much as people might think. Being held above everyone made life boring. If her family had had their way, she wouldn't have even laid her hand on a weapon, let alone fought as much as she did. She needed excitement in her life.

Shiro shook her head, still smiling, and skipped ahead a bit. "My sister and grandfather told me them mostly. I...have a difficult relationship with my sister based on the paths we have taken. I love her deeply though. I hold all the things she taught me close to my heart." Shiro turned around and looked at Isis. "So what's your family like? Mine is very traditional and I'm told we are important in Faunus society. The Vulpes family is well known I think I don't know." The smile faded from her face and she turned back around in time to reach their room. "Here we are," she announced as she opened the door and stepped into the room.

Isis looked at her with a confused look on her face. Well, the other two didn't seem like talkers, but it looked like her partner would be able to cover for them. "Uh...right..." She then shook her head. Was her entire team going to be a bunch of weirdos? Great. Just great. "Glad your family is so important," she said with clear sarcasm. "My family treat me like a goddess and it pisses me off. You know the whole Sphinx thing? Yeah. Being considered a mythical being isn't fun. You don't get to do anything. All these tattoos, all the working out, beating someone to a pulp, hitting them across a room with my baby. Everything I could think of to be at least kind of normal. It was my idea to go to a combat school, they made me come here for some reason. Something about it being safe or some other bull." She came to a stop outside of their dorm, then followed Shiro inside.

Shiro tilted her head to the side and looked at Isis confused. "No one is more important than the other. The flower at the top of a tree on the highest mountain is still the same as the wilting blossom at the bottom of a valley." She blinked her yellow eyes and stretched her arms over her head. "That's something my sister taught me when she joined....well she does not follow the same path as I do." Shiro grew sullen and she lowered her gaze to the floor before turning to look out the window. "I miss her." She went to her suitcase that was in the room already and pulled out a picture of her and her sister, setting it on a desk. "That is Kuro," Shiro told Isis. "Do you have any siblings?"

Isis watched Shiro and shook her head. It was like she wasn't listening or something. Had she only paid attention to her sarcastic comment? She really couldn't tell with this chick. "Okay then..." She headed over to her own suitcase and opened it up. She glanced over and raised an eyebrow. "Good for her." She decided to continue being sarcastic. It was her turn to look sad when Shiro mentioned siblings. "Yeah. I've got a twin brother. We...grew apart. Probably the rest of my family's fault. I was the goddess, he was the mortal. No one cares about the mortal when in the presence of a goddess." She sighed and started to pull what little things she cared about out of her suitcase. It wasn't much. Mostly clothing and jewelry.

"You aren't a goddess," Shiro said with a serious look on her face. "If I stabbed you in the heart or fatally, you would die. I cannot comprehend the idea of you being more than what I see and therefore I chose to ignore that other than what I told you at the beginning of my statement. I am not deaf or blind. Spend a lifetime pretending to be what you are not and you see the details in the tapestry of life." Shiro twitched a fox ear and blinked before putting a smile on her face. "Please don't try to whine and cry about how you were spoiled and doted on as a child. I was the same but I am not bitter about it. I was the talented one in my family and so I was chosen to be heir over my sister but do I whine and cry over how I don't want it? No I don't." The fact she spoke with a smile and in a cheery voice added an eeriness to her words but after the message was given, Shiro turned and returned to dealing with her luggage. "You aren't the only one with problems," Shiro pointed out softly, the cheer no longer there.
(The tension is thick and I love it)

Isis didn't flinch, but there was a light of surprise in his eyes. "You make it sound like I don't know I'm not a goddess. Sheesh, I'm just telling you what my moronic family thinks." She crossed her arms. "And you asked about my family, I didn't bring them up. I'm just telling you why I hate them. In fact, I'd like to not talk about them again after this. I don't want anything to do with them. I'd rather spend my time training then whining about my sparkling childhood." She then turned around with a shrug. "Also I never said I was the only one with problems. I'm selfish. I care about me and my problems. I don't care about your problems. Not my place to deal with all that. Just like it's not your place to get in my business. Doesn't mean we don't like talking about it. Ever think it helps?"

Shiro's ears twitched and she started to breath in and out slowly, calming herself. She plastered a smile on her face and skipped over to Isis with her hands behind her back. "I do not like selfish people in my team," she informed Isis, struggling not to unsheathe her blades. "A team is one that works together. A bird does not have just one wing for if it did it could not fly. With that in mind, it takes more than just one person to succeed in this life. Even the White Fang is a group-" Shiro cut herself short and her smile faltered for a second or two before igrowing stable again. "Anyway, this team is one I wish to work well together. We may be different but so are the seasons and they exist in harmony."
(Shiro turned into a fake happy girl with all these proverbs I did not mean for this to happen.)

Well, once the rps start it's hard to tell where they'll go.))
Isis didn't seem to be interested in the conversation anymore with how she was back to unpacking. She hadn't stopped speaking to Shiro though. "Get used to it, princess. I'm not going to stop being the way I am at the drop of a hat. Just cause I'm a straight up witch though, doesn't mean I can't work with a team. I'll follow your orders, I'll beat our enemies to a pulp. Doesn't mean you have to actually like me while we do it. Even the best working team can have problems behind the scenes." She pulled an obelisk our of her suitcase and moved over to a nightstand to set it up. Once she had it perfect, she looked at Shiro, a smirk on her face. "It's good to know you still love your sister even when she's part of the White Fang though. I'd probably be the same with my twin to be honest."

Shiro's smile vanished and she backed away slightly. When Isis mentioned the White Fang, the color in her face drained away and she grew tense. "I never said my sister was in the White Fang. I won't deny some members of my family have joined in the past but I never said my sister had joined them." She went to her bag and began to unpack things. She set a picture of her grandfather next to the one of her and Kuro while stacking books on the desk. She paused, looking at Kuro's image, and sighed. "Don't tell anyone. Please." Her words were soft and hardly more than a whisper. The dark haired girl hoped that the other Faunus hadn't heard her but it was likely she did. Hopefully she wouldn't continue talking about it. "I will respect your wishes to not change who you are as long as you try to cooperate with what I tell you."

Isis rolled her eyes, still smirking. "Don't drop so many hints next time. Wasn't exactly that hard to figure out." She started to move back towards her suitcase. "And don't worry about it. This part of our conversation never happened. Remember, I don't care about your problems." She pulled out a scroll that looked ancient at that point. "I'll do my best, but don't think any less of me if I tell you when your plans are dumb." She moved back over to her bed and put the scroll under her pillow. "Cause you know. It's just as much of a subordinates job to keep their commanding officer in line, as it is for the commanding officer to keep their troops in line." She went back to her suitcase and started to shove it under her bed. She'd put her clothes away, her few personal items were unpacked, she was basically done.

Sure thing Anakin c: I've got Chatoyant open and Quarender, as well as Merc, if u want a teacher)
Watching Wysteria pocket the butter, Niv grabbed little sachets of sauce, no ketchup, because that was disgusting, but definitely barbecue. The girl had long since perfected the art of eating foods such as these without getting any of her white dresses and pristine white nails. "I'm good," She said, barnishing a plate laden heavily with beans and meats, not a vegetable in sight, "Let's rock and roll." There were only one or two other people milling around the hall, faces she knew from past years, but no one she was on speaking terms with. There was a funny discoloured patch on the far wall where it'd been blown up and rebuilt with a different kind of brick and though it had never been proved , the teachers had a good idea who had torn it down in the first place, "Remember when we did that?" She giggled naughtily, "Now that was a lunch time to remember."
As Shiro and Isis vanished into the crowd (how two so very conspicuous girls could achieve that was beyond them), Larimar turned to the other girl, the one fiddling with her bird pins. They supposed that this peer liking birds was a good thing for themselves, but decided not to get any hopes up early. "I like your weapons." They tried, glancing up at the high ceiling rather then making eye contact, "They're very unusual. Did you make them yourself?" Larimar had made their own weapon years ago, and their apathy shone through brilliantly in such a simple weapon of force. The crows were starting to thin a little, as people went off, and the faunus eased up a bit, glad to be out of such an intense crowd. Isis and Shiro were long gone, it seemed, so they started walking in the general direction.
"You'll always have a gaping mouth." Ruska managed, before the door was flung open and Sonya came in. Grinning back, Ruska squeezed the girl's hand with her bionic one, "Late again! You trying to get a record going?" It was nice to see the breezy girl back again, she looked good, the summer must've been fair to her, "My summer was fine, read a lot of books," She crossed her legs at her ankles, "Citrine's been sitting here for two months, talking to her axe. It's a tragedy." She shook her head in mock mourn, the bouncy curls on her head swaying with her.

Citrine shoved Ruska playfully, although perhaps a little more forefully than she intended. "I have not! You're just making things up now!" She laughed, a large smile finding its way unto her face. There was some truth in Ruska's teasing. "Hey, Sonya," she added as the other girl entered. "Summer was nice, but I'm still excited to be back!"

Isis and Shiro were long gone, it seemed, so they started walking in the general direction. Wysteria frowned at the lack of veggies on Niv's plate but said nothing. She followed the other girl to wherever they were going to sit and smiled at the spot on the wall. "I remember almost getting killed," she told her. Her mouth was watering from the smell of the food on her plate and she wished she had enough hands to get some soup. The last time she had eaten good food like this was when she was fed by a woman whose son she saved from a lone Beowolf. "I'm ready to eat this and maybe get some seconds." The Faunus sat down and began to get her layout set up. The napkins she has snagged were placed with one for utensils on her right with two unfolded on the other side of her plate for her rolls. She took out her butters and placed them on the table before looking at Niv to sit down before starting to eat. Luxia smiled at her new teammate and shook her head. "I don't think so. I was found with them by a man named Sol. I like them though. Wanna see me use them? We can go outside and practice." The small girl followed the Faunus and she looked at their tail in awe of the feathers and length. "I like your tail. I like birds a lot. They are so free." Luxia liked that sense of freedom feeling as though she lacked that in her life. She was trapped by the fact she had no idea who sen was and that frightened her. What if she never figured out who she was. Would she always be lost in this life or could she one day be like a bird? The smile never left her lips as she followed them and she asked, "What do you want to do?"

Shiro remained silent, a pit forming in her stomach as she unpacked her things. She glanced at the door wondering when the other two would show up. It seemed like she would need to figure out how to deal with Isis if she was going to be in charge. Her scroll chimed and she picked it up to see a message from her sister. A smile formed on her lips and she began to put away clothes with one hand as she told Kuro about her first day with the other. After sending the text, she put the device down and finished putting things away before getting out the kit for her blades. She sat on her bed and unsheathed the two blades to make sure the Dust in the blades were stable and that the edges were sharp.

Isis turned around and her eyes widened at the sight of Shiro's blades. She hadn't noticed them before, and she was wondering how she hadn't. Probably not paying attention, and she cursed inwardly. She was better than that! "Hey, what are you doing with your weapons in here? Those are supposed to be in our lockers." She crossed her arms. "I thought it was against the rules to walk around school with your weapons." She wasn't allowed to carry Anubis around with her, why was Shiro? Her baby was sitting locked up in a metal box and here Shiro was sharpening her blades. She was pretty sure it was a rule so there weren't fights in the halls. A fight between two huntsmen or huntresses, even inexperienced ones, would easily be enough to destroy a large part of the school if they weren't stopped.

"Aw, come on. It was fun!" Niv defended the wall destroying exercise with gusto, "There's this moment I always remember where the wall wiggled a little and we all just stood there like 'holy smokes the walls going to fall'. Even Quarender looked like he was wetting himself." She snickered at the memory, all of them fresh faced first years, not meaning to bust up the school so bad, but, lo and behold, somehow managing it all the same. She watched Wysteria relish her food and a tiny pinprick of concern edged it's way into her mind. When was the last time she'd had a hot meal? Guilt and a strange nausea filled her steadily, "I know it's early, but do you know where you're going over winter?" Subtly for not her forte, so she didn't go for it, "Because, you know, my house is always open. My parents would love you." She found it hard ot look at Wys when they talked like this, and so focused on cutting her meat up into little pieces
"Only if you want to use them. I don't mind." Larimar said, moving quietly, soft plimsolls hardly hitting the floor. Their lack of interest was apparent, they could only care so much. "And thank you." They said, a little surprised, but managing to mask it with the usual hebetude, "Not many people like it. It's quite cumbersome." As the kids behind the faunus had discovered during the ceremony. Everyone seemed to be in an awful rush to get to their dorms, and seeing as neither of the teammates seemed to be in a hurry, they were soon lagging behind. Did she say she was found with them? Did that mean she was found by that man or she was with the man, wandered off, and got the birds? Surely she would know for sure if she'd built them. Not wanting to probe her too hard, they stored this information away for now, to return to it later. "You fought well during the initiation. This team of ours seems interesting."
here's a start with merc then c; ) Being a senior teacher had it's perks: priority parking, general respect, not having to take any nonsense from pupils or teachers (like that stupid little geography teacher) but it also had it's flaws. Like doing role on the first day. It was painful, there were always people late. How they managed to miss a massive frickin airship was beyond him. But every year, there were stragglers. So here he was, list in hand, foot tapping, the huge man with his hat pulled down low so the brim masked a portion of his face. Sonya, the third year, was late, but already here, and he was waiting on one other forth year before he could retire for the night. And he knew the guy who was late quite well, Denver, nice enough but a bit of a joker and Merc did not tolerate jokers.

Not wanting to probe her too hard, they stored this information away for now, to return to it later. "You fought well during the initiation. This team of ours seems interesting." Aww I'll miss you ;~ Wysteria simply looked at Niv with a blank expression. She remembered little of the how and more of the fear she felt. As she ate, she could feel Niv's eyes on her and she looked up to meet her partner's eyes. She had known that the fact she didn't often eat food like the stuff they got at Beacon worried Niv but she was used to the food she usually ate. She had been raised on wrapped bread and cold soup maybe heated by a fire. She could change that if she wanted to but it made her feel closer to her father. However, Wysteria wasn't going to tell Niv that it might worry her more.. At the invitation, Wysteria cocked her head to the side and a slight movement in her hat showed her ears had moved underneath. "If I don't hear about a lead on my dad, I can come. I have always been interested in seeing what your place is like." Wysteria looked at Niv closely before returning her gaze to her food. Luxia tilted her head but said nothing, opting to hum instead. She smiled, listening to Larimar talk. She shook her head at him saying his tail was cumbersome as she believed something as beautiful couldn't be a hindrance. "It's too beautiful to be a bad thing. There are downsides but they are trumped by the beauty." Her smile had faded a bit as she spoke and she activated Queenie and Shaydra so that they flew ahead of her and Larimar. "That one is Queenie and that one is Shaydra." The one that was Shaydra appeared to be darker than the rest of her "flock" and stood out out of them all. At the compliment, Luxia beamed and looked at him. "I just gave support. Thank you though."
