《 eep I’m here. I’ll write the rest of a reply later but I thought I’d just get what I have up first 》
How to feel about Sybil's reaction to his plea?
Well, on one hand his heart was screaming at her, begging her to go, to run. Will wanted her far, far away from all this. If she got hurt because of him… even worse if she got hurt because of his old ties to the Wolves. The sight of her blood made him want to puke. Sybil needed to get out of here before they caught her too. A crow was not a much better brand than a wolf, provided he had no idea if the Rechisan guards would recognize her mark. Perhaps they'd just see a tattoo and assume. He'd never felt more ashamed than this as he sat on his knees with his life in another's hand, all because of the ink left on his skin. Because of what the tattoos said. What the guards had uncovered was the least of it. But he would've been okay with all that if it weren't for Sybil, bleeding as she threw herself at the guard.
At the same time, watching her pummel the man with her fists, he was certain he had never liked her quite so much as now. The guard looked very surprised indeed at being beat up by a tiny blonde. That's my girl, he thought, something in his heart screaming with pride. This was the girl he'd fallen for. She wasn't necessarily always sweet - in fact he was hard pressed to think of a time where he could describe her as sweet - or patient or ladylike, but then again Will had never really been much for that. Sybil was fiery and irritable and always so alive. One of a damned kind.
His breath trembled as she pressed her hand to his cheek, and he wasn't sure if he wanted to kiss her or cry. Maybe, probably both. Will nodded, clambering to his feet. He wrapped his arms around her for a second, so brief it might not even have happened. He took hold of her wrist, careful to avoid the gash on her palm. “Let's go.” He murmured, gently tugging her as he turned and ran.
Outside, finally, it was less crowded, those who had made it outside having already dispersed in their efforts to flee. Will ran straight for their carriage, never letting go of Sybil's wrist until the familiar painted vehicle came into view. Along with a certain red head, a light playing around his fingers. The last traces of a spell. The spell. The one that had caused all that panic, which might have prompted that guard to check him. And therefore put Sybil’s life in danger. Anger flared in his gut - an untempered kind that very rarely showed its head in Will. He was suddenly very tempted to yell at the man, or better, give him a taste of his fist. Let his job be damned for once. A muscle ticked in his jaw from being clenched so hard. “Remus,” He started, but never got any farther. It wasn't worth it. The man couldn't have known what would happen, and either way both he and Sybil were fine. If anything happened to Eliza, though… He'd cross that bridge when it came. Will sighed. “...Nevermind.”
He risked a glance back toward the party, expecting a mob of angry Rechisan guards to be chasing them. Instead there was… well, by comparison nothing. People were still pouring out of the building, but apparently the guards were too busy protecting the rest of the crowd to pursue a pair of gang members who didn't even have the stolen items on them.
Will turned to Sybil, reaching gently for her injured hand. “Are you okay?” He asked her quietly. He attempted a smile, though his brows were still knit with worry. What if that had gone sideways? Well, the party had already gone sideways by that point, but in that particular moment. What if… He didn't really want to think about that. Will swallowed the lump in his throat, trying for his usual easy levity. “I could rip my shirt off to start making bandages, if that would help.” Or at least, rip off a section of his shirt. If it was necessary. Because despite the common belief, Will was all for the modest clothing, although once again not for the reasons one might assume.

[ That's cool most likely I will be up later due to studying yayyyy finals ]
Sybil was feeling a arrange of emotions as Will dragged her through the rest of the party and to the outside world where Remus was waiting by the carriage. She was sore, tired, the side of her face especially where the guard had back handed her like she was some house wife. And angry at Will for telling her to run still ticked her off. She wasn't expecting her night to switch from a lovely evening with the boy she liked ( couldn't say court cause well they weren't officially courting but whatever ) to turn into her wanting to slap him around with her good hand. She glanced up at Will when he said Remus's name, like he was about to start something with the red head which of course was a bad move on both their parts. Will was a Crow but Dante wouldn't be afraid to toss him to the dogs if things got ugly between him and Remus. And for Remus, he could add another burn to his back ( So far he has a crow and a Spindle Dragon, pretty nifty ) not to mention a personal beat down session. Sybil wouldn't be afraid to break into that fight and beat both of them, pants or no pants. She released a short sigh when Will passed off the tone, Remus of course wasn't really worried about Will at the moment. More so he was herding the two other newbies closer to the carriage and swiftly inside. "Did you two see the others on the way out?" Remus asked Sybil and Will.
"I couldn't see Eius or Heulfryn...but I bet they are coming out as we speak...I haven't seen Eliza since the start of the back-echo spell though" Sybil replied, seeing Remus nod. Most likely doing calculations in his head about what was happening and what could happen. She knew how he handled missions, if one of them were to be captured Remus had a whole arsenal of Fae's to call favors on. Not to mention ties within the Kevior guards...despite his busy attire he cared about his Crows. Like a big red headed mama bear. Only for crows so. Sybil turned her attention to Will when he spoke, and she couldn't decided if she should carry out her plan of slapping him or just full front scream at him. She decided to maybe do both. "I am not okay William. How dare you tell me to run away like that!" She snapped at him, for a moment her gray eyes were like storms, angry and swirling with mixed emotions of the same label. Her hands went to the front of his shirt like she was gonna fight him now. But then she remembered the way his breath trembled when she touched his cheek, and that brief embrace afterwards. Her lip trembled for half a second as she thought about what would have happened if she had ran away, and coming back to him dead on the floor even. She let her fingers relax and she buried her face in his shirt.
"You never tell me to run ever again. Cause I won't leave you behind..." She said, her voice cracking slightly as she spoke before looking back at Will. "I never leave behind people I care about, certainly you" She said. Remus stayed to the side sort of awkwardly, the last of the back echo spell wavering into the air as they spoke. "But if you tell me to run away like that again I will take a pair of brass knuckles and beat you till you turn 50 shades of purple" She added with a sniff of her nose. Basically in Sybil language that was I'm not super angry but I'm still upset. "And my hand is fine. Just a cut. Don't go ripping your shirt for something like this" She said, looking at her hand that had gripped his shirt, blood doting the pink fabric. She smoothed down his shirt with her good hand while being so like herself, wiped the blood on her own dress without a care in the world.
"Are you alright? Did the guard cut you at all?" She asked, looking up at him and once more cupping his cheek and rubbing her thumb down his cheek. It was like that for a while before Remus cleared his throat behind them. "Oh shut the hell up Hawkins before I do to you what I did to that guard" Sybil said, turning her attention the quiet man. Which was odd since he was never quiet. "What the hell was that in there anyway? A Back-echo spell without any warning?!" She started on Remus now, crinkling her nose at him. The man put up his hands and lifted an eyebrow. "It was said at the beginning...you know the part that both you and Gansey missed because you most likely kissing in the stairwell...again" He said. Sybil blushed furiously at that and shifted her body towards him, looking ready to pounce.
"I'm going to beat you 50 shades of purple"
"Right, and as much as I would love that, I'm gonna run inside to finish this all up. Maybe you two can talk some more you know" Remus said and at that began a brisk pace towards the building where everyone was leaving from. Most likely to make sure everyone of his own were out safe and alive. Sybil let out a frustrated moan and reached up to yank at her hair, not caring for the pins and spray keeping it in place.

Of all the answers Will had prepared for, Sybil being angry with him was not one of them. You would have thought he'd know better than that by now.
He stood there, looking more than a little shocked as she yelled at him. And then proceeded to hug him. His brain couldn't quite process the lightning fast transition, but he wrapped his arms around her anyway, rubbing her back in what he hoped was a comforting way. He let her say what she needed to, listening patiently. Well, more like carefully as he tried to make sense of how she was feeling right then. Why were girls always so complicated about their feelings? This coming from the guy who had taken several months to realize he liked a girl. But still. “I wouldn’t expect anything less,” he said when she was done. “I was a little selfish; I didn't want to see you get hurt. Especially not because of me. Because of this .” He gestured to his forearm, where the House of Wolves sigil was inked on his flesh. “Even so, I'm sorry.”
Will shook his head as she turned the conversation on him. “No, no I'm fine,” he answered. His own hands found their way to cupping her cheeks. He ran his thumb over the trails of freckles he knew were there, hidden under all that makeup she was wearing. He wanted to remind her never to cover them up again. “You were pretty amazing back there, you know. Which doesn't mean I approve of the endangering your life part, but… Not half bad.”
Will had half a mind not to punch Remus then and there. If he had much a taste for violence, he might’ve. But he wasn't, and Remus was fine, and partially correct. About skipping the meeting, which they should've gone to. And their reason for missing it. Besides, Remus had become somewhat of a friend to Will. That didn't mean he wouldn't be furious if he was responsible for either Eliza or Sybil getting hurt.
--
Heulfryn snorted. The kid was only realizing this now? He shook his head. “We'll be fine if we make it outside,” He replied, adding after a second. “Which we will.” He kept a close grip on Eius’s arm as they maneuvered through the mess that had once been a party. He blocked out the sounds of people wailing, the sight of them being pushed aside so others could escape. Such self-serving creatures. He had no choice but to ignore them ; he had his own problems to deal with. The humans were screaming and running about like frightened sheep - a comparison he could make from firsthand experience. There were a lot of sheep in rural Rechisan, and not a lot for a young Fae boy to do to practice his growing powers once his human friends had outgrown him. Quite literally - humans aged so much faster than their immortal counterparts. His childhood playmates had reached adulthood and Heulfryn had still appeared no older than thirteen, though they counted the same number of years.
The brisk air outside was a relief to his warm skin as they made it outside. When it was safe to do so, Heulfryn peeled away their disguises, revealing their own usual states. He searched briefly for their pair of carriages, finding them quickly as he picked up a group of familiar scents. “This way,” He urged Eius, tugging his arm in the direction he'd indicated. Then paused for a split second, blinking, as he realized he hadn't let go of the boy's arm now that they'd made it outside. He dropped it quickly, instinctively smoothing down his suit jacket before continuing on his way. “Hurry up would you, mortal . The others will make it by themselves.” He intoned crossly. “Besides, most of them are already ahead of us.”
--
It was crazy inside, but Eliza was pretty good at making sense of a crowd. How else could a pickpocket make her dues? In fact, this was something of a perfect opportunity to grab a few things. Not that she encouraged theft unless entirely necessary. The Crows furnished a lot of her things, but she wasn't so stupid as to believe they were giving it out of the kindness of their hearts. Everything they spent on her came out of her pocket sooner or later, if she ever planned on leaving. Which she did - it was why she still had yet to take the tattoo. She wasn't sure how much longer the Crows intended to let that one slide. It wasn't like she hated it there but… she didn't want to get stuck with them. She had dreamed a good many different lives, and none of them ended with her as a gangster.
It didn't take her long to spot Nerys and Rei, luckily just as they were heading out. Good, that was two down. And there was Eius-as-Atticus, escorted by a guard in shining Noridian armour she could only hope was actually Heulfryn. Remus had already stepped out, and of course she'd caught a brief view of the Gansey-Rye spectacle. Which meant everyone was accounted for.
Eliza turned, making her own way towards the doors, hidden pockets a little heavier than they'd been before. She just needed to get herself out of here… She managed to duck and dodge most of the elbows swung her way, and her natural height kept her from being trampled. She was making good progress toward the door in general.
“M-mommy?”
Eliza froze, then immediately whipped around, searching for the source of the sound. There was a little boy, no older than five, a head full of dark tousled curls. He was looking around with an almost panicked expression, looking frightened at the thought of entering the escaping mob. He had a cut on one of his arms. How on earth could she leave him. Eliza turned around, approaching the boy slowly. She crouched down so they were on the same level. “Hello there. Did you get lose your mum in the crowd?” Eliza asked softly. The boy, after a brief moment of hesitation, nodded. She smiled. “Alright, why don't we go find her then? And what can I call you, sir?”
“... Eamon.”
Eliza beamed. “Eamon! What a lovely name. I'm Eliza.” She held out a hand, and he shook it reluctantly. “Let's go find your mum.” She squeezed his hand and got to her feet, keeping the boy close as she returned to her path to the outside. Hopefully Eamon’s mum was just outside - had realized she'd lost her kid on the way out and was now waiting or trying to get back in. When they did get out, however, there was nothing.
And then; “Eamon! Oh, thank the gods!” Eliza turned in time to see a young woman engulf the little boy in a hug. She had the same dark curls, the same pearl-toned skin. “Thank you so much. I was so worried when I got outside and -” the woman broke off as she looked up, green eyes meeting Eliza's own. The same shock registered in their matching eyes.
“Neliscia! Oh good, you've found him. Or rather, I suppose this young lady has done that for you. Try to be more responsible, dear.” This came from a new voice, another dark-haired, green-eyed woman. Her eyes, too, came to fix on Eliza, and hers too widened a fraction. “Dear me, is that you, Elizabetha?”
Eliza’s mouth opened, then closed, as she struggled for something to say. “I… I, uh..” Because there were some situations where there really was no good thing to say. And right now, with her pockets full of stolen items and a crew of gang members not a hundred meters away, Eliza couldn't think of a single thing to say to her aunt, Loretta Gansey.

Sybil looked to Will when he began to speak again, looking at his tattoo that was the only sign of him ever being with the wolves in her light. She wanted to reach out and just touch it, trace the ink that was pressed into his skin. Tattoos were a norm in gangs, everyone had at least one to mark themselves to which gang. Only Sybil didn't have one that was really noticeable, it was located right behind her ear, just a little crow tattoo that could easily be covered up. But Wills was....well it was an interesting place to put one. She did reach out to him again, slipping her hands into his coats pockets as he praised her for fighting the guard. Was it praise? She was gonna take it as praise. A light blush crossed her face and shrugged her shoulders with a A shucks attitude to it, her eyes darting up to his. "That guard wasn't life threatening at all, I've had more life threatening encounters back home in the ring. He was a piece o' cake. If I had pants on I could have kicked the snot right out of him" She said. It was true though, that little tussle was nothing compared to what she deals with in the ring or out in the field.
"It was nothing, I had to protect what was mine." She added with a cheeky grin up at Will. She would have gone on but honestly she was tired and just wanted to go home to her bed now. "But also remember that fight, you big cheesy romantic dork" She whispered, reaching up to gently pinch his cheek with a faint smile on her face. Even when she planned on staying angry at him, somehow it just fades away. Maybe she was being a bit out there with her reason for her anger, maybe it was because she had such a violent flash back to when her own father died the same way with a sword to his neck. She just didn't want that happening again to Will or to anyone.
"Come on let's get in the carriage before the rest of the happy crowd come strolling down the block. We'll talk later..." She said after a moment and moved away from Will reluctantly ( It was kind of chilly out, she really wished she had pants ) and towards the carriage where the little crows were beginning to gather.
Heulfryn and Atticus arrived just as Rei was trying to get Nerys into the carriage, keeping the crown safely tucked in her purse while casting nervous glances towards the building. "Where is Remus going?" She asked when spotting her fellow red head walk back toward the building, why wasn't he staying here with the rest of them? "Um we're short one red. And Remus doesn't like being one duck short" Sybil said, rubbing at her face to dust off some of that pesky make-up only resulting in getting some of it off. Now it looked like one half of her face was covered in freckles while the other was still dusted over. "But what really matters is if you got what you came for. Better hope its super shiny too" She went on, pushing poor Nerys into the carriage and to a seat. Totally not in the mood to deal with loopy Mclooperson. Rei didn't speak much on it, only looked down toward her purse and shrugged. "I think we did...." She grumbled.
Sybil shrugged before climbing into the carriage and huffed as she chose her favorite seat which was her tiny little corner. "This is the slowest escape we've ever had...." Sybil muttered as Rei climbed in to sit next to Nerys, the red head being silent as well. It was a trend going on wasn't it? When really Rei felt horrible, she felt guilty. She had just stolen from a big friend of the Kevior kingdom. She, the captain of the royal guards, had stolen a crown from another family to prove to some gang lord that they were worthy of the Crows help. Not to mention Atticus being a decoy of himself, which was the stupidest thing she has ever witnessed. Yes, show the gang that has plans to kill the royal family your true, very royal self. She only glanced up when the said pair came waltzing up to the carriage, wanting to launch herself out the door and start pummeling Atticus like they were still in the palace walls. Not to mention the first distraction was just...surprising. She wasn't able to see the rest of it but she would need to ask later about it.
Atticus didn't feel like talking about it though, he just straightened his suit lapels when Heulfryn released him, rolling his eyes. "Of course, the slow mortal will hurry up. Coming honey. Geez. You know you should really think about having a nap when we get back. It could help your ever lasting sour attitude." Atticus said, now that the glamor was gone it...didn't look that different on him. He looked like he was....well the prince in less shiny clothing. Atticus felt just as sour, only looking up when Remus walked past them without so much as a glance. Maybe he was busy with something else, maybe someone was left behind. He doubted it, he could see Will and Sybil standing together all lovey dovey, then head to the carriage with Rei and Nerys. Either way, he was never talking about this night with anyone. Ever again. This never happened, this job was just a bad dream that he was going to wash away with something at home. He wasn't going to mention Heulfryn and the whole kissing thing to anyone. Which still plagued his mind for some odd reason it did and it annoyed the crap out of Atticus.
Atticus waited until Heulfryn was inside and the others before following, sitting down across from Rei with a frown on his face. "You alright?" He asked her after a moment. She shrugged, the veins in her arm were normal once again but she felt drained. This was a bit more hectic then what she was use to, she was use to the smoothness of a plan and only a few bumps here and there. "I'm fine....what about you?" She asked, looking over Atticus in case he had any nicks or cuts here or there. His hair was all messed up with a bit of broken glass caught in his black locks, and surprisingly he didn't look as tired as she was. "I'm....okay" Atticus said, with a under lining message of I don't want to talk about it which Rei picked up pretty easily. She knew Heulfryn and Atticus didn't get along but tonight it seemed a bit more tense then usual. Which begs the question of what happened when she left?
-
Remus on the other hand had his eyes set on a certain girl he could see leaving the building, which by the way was mostly empty now. The inside was a mess of glass, tossed food, broken decorations and so on. This back-echo spell was certainly worth the money, caused quiet a mess in the long run. He was certain at one point he wouldn't even have to use it but sadly he had to. It wasn't bad of course, Dante won't be surprised in fact he was probably guessing that it would have been used anyway. These newbies were....messy. Unorganized and clearly didn't really trust each other which would fall short for their big plan. If they didn't trust each other then bad things will happen, really bad things. They all had a solid plan in the beginng, Nerys was good at chucking one out but....she was a bit reckless. Atticus was good at distractions, coming up with things on the fly which was what he expected from the 'merchant' boy. 'Merchant' Remus's pretty little foot, but he wasn't going to say anything...yet. Rei was alright, she seemed a bit tense though. Everything she did was trained and precise which means when something changes drastically it's hard for her to just switch. And Heulfryn well....Remus didn't know about Heulfryn but the tension he had towards Atticus was....looked at differently now.
But now he had to get Eliza, the only other person missing from their little get together back there. He could see her leading some child out by the hand, almost cooing at how sweet that was. Not really he didn't do cute. "Eliza!" He called out to her over the voices of these chattering monkeys. Remus made a bee line for the girl, wanting to grab her and leave and then promptly get the rest of this show moving they were burning candle li-
Who that?
Remus slowed down immensely when he noted the sudden change on Eliza when speaking to the women. In fact he lingered a few feet behind her, noting how her body language switched when making eye contact to the older lady. Now he felt awkward, just waiting behind her like some kid waiting for his mom ( Get it cause...never mind). She seemed like she knew the women, like it was a surprise visit that no one was expecting. He certainly wasn't expecting anyone at this party, most of his friends were killers or gang members and his family hated him and his guts. He rubbed his hands together and wanted to look to someone for help but everyone else was back at the carriage, and boy if this person was some long lost sister of Eliza's or some friend she wasn't expecting to be here then Remus would be forced to pull her away and make a run to the carriage considering if they don't get out of here soon then they will be found.
And he rather not be found by Rechisan guards who were a bit angry at the moment.

《 yo I’m here. More to come after I get a proper amount of sleep cx 》
Nerys giggled incessantly as Rei tried to get her in the carriage. “I don't want to leave! Why can't we go back to the party?” She asked cluelessly. She fought against Rei for a moment, trying to turn around to go back to the party and tripping over her own feet. She laughed at her own clumsiness, grabbing hold of Rei’s shoulder to steady herself. “Woops,” She babbled. “Clumsy me.” If anything, this was the sign that Nerys wasn’t herself. The last word anyone would use to describe Nerys was clumsy. Well, actually, most people would rank it above “generous” or “sweet”, but that had more to do with a lack of those qualities than an absence of grace. After the near-tumble she cooperated, climbing into the carriage. She was still chattering away about the most random of things.
She beamed at the others as they climbed into the carriage after her and Rei; Will and Sybil and Eius and Heulfryn. The sunny expression made Nerys look extraordinarily young, in Heulfryn’s opinion. The usual aura of pirate-y-ness aged her, just enough so he'd never quite thought of her as a kid (although all mortals seemed somewhat like children in comparison to him). She really was only nineteen, though, barely into adulthood. They all were, he realized as he cast a glance at the people inside the carriage. All so young to be planning the things they were.
“... You don't get the same kind of food at sea, you. I mean there's always something interesting when we dock at ports, but mostly we eat fish or preserves or….”
Oh, gods be damned, Nerys really wasn't going to shut up, was she? Not that it was her fault, except that in part it was. It was the little spell she'd managed to fall prey to that was making her act this way, but coming into contact with said spell was kind of her fault. “...You know that was a pretty impressive performance, Eius. I totally thought you were the Prince. But I mean the other performance. You two were very convincing with -” Snap!
Nerys slumped to the side, head falling on Rei’s shoulder. Dead asleep. Will started, looking between Nerys and Heulfryn in alarm. “What in the - is she asleep? Just like that…” Will squinted, as if to confirm his suspicions in that way. “You did this? That's fascinating.”
Heulfryn blinked, giving a tiny shrug - Heulfryn was not much of a shrugger. “She’ll sleep it off, this way. Hopefully to regain a tiny bit of sense before we see Dante. “
Will nodded, eyes still fixed on Nerys, inspecting. He glanced at Heulfryn. “Would you mind discussing this manner of magic with me at some point? I'm particularly interested in the link between magic and biology.”
Heulfryn regarded the boy, considering. His lips quirked upward on one side after a moment. “I don't see why not.”

[ I feel you lol recharging via sleep ]
If Heulfryn didn't knock out Nerys at that point, Rei would have instead with maybe her fist. She wasn't really keen on listening to Nerys blab about tonight considering how fast it had went downhill. It started out promising only to turn into a blimp of chaos, and who was to blame? Well no one really, considering the plan wasn't exactly fully detailed. Either way, she was sure that they weren't gonna slip out of the details with Dante. Rei cast a glance towards Nerys as she slumped over and onto her shoulder, Rei shifted slightly under the weight of her head but didn't make to move her. She rather her stay asleep until the spell began to wane off. She turned her attention back to the carriage window, her leg jumping up and down slightly with impatience as they waited for the last two crows to arrive.
"Did you grab what you needed up there? You know to show Dante" Atticus chipped in, the boy could never stay silent for long. Rei looked to the prince and nodded, patting the purse she had containing the few jewels and the oh so expensive crown within. "Everything we could grab...I'm sure Dante will be happy...hopefully" She said, not really knowing a lot about the Crows and missing crowns....nor did she want to know. "Eh I'm sure he will" chirped Sybil, who had made herself comfortable in the corner of the carriage near Will. "If anything this went a lot better then our last missions in the past...someone always ends up hurt...or dead" She said, waving her hand like it didn't matter.
"Right...glad to know that. Makes me feel a lot better" Rei replied, only making Sybil grin. Atticus didn't see how Sybil could grin to Rei's sarcasm. Maybe because the girl was so use to it she didn't find it bothersome. She shrugged before leaning further back into the seats to let out a long sigh, only looking to Will when he asked to learn more about magic and biology and so on with a roll of her eyes but a smile playing on her lips. "But you know...pirate girl was on to something....Eius" Sybil turned her attention to the prince, who stiffened as soon as she mentioned his fake name ( or just referred to his middle name? who knew ) and glanced towards her. "You played Prince Atticus pretty well... I mean those people really thought you were the prince. I almost thought that" She said.
"Well...the cover up really worked" Atticus said and shrugged like it was no big deal. "No no no. The illusion was just one tiny part. It's selling it pays it off. You acted like a prince." She said softly and tipped her head to the side a bit looking at him. He shrugged, raising an eyebrow at her. "I mean...don't all rich people act like royalty? I just kind of...based it off that. Plus I like people..." My people he added with a thought. She nodded and shifted once more, smiling up at Atticus. "Yeah I suppose. But what really got me was that one bit before that. I didn't know you knocked that way" She said, nudging him with her foot. Atticus merely blushed slightly, glancing away. "I mean...I just...ummm..." He said. Sybil grinned at his slight blush and lack of words while Rei looking between the two like she had missed something
"Righhhhtt. I see....but anyway impressive. You did good, so don't look so grumpy" She said, the little words seemed to make Atticus happy enough. "Right, sorry for looking 'grumpy'" Atticus said, grinning slightly. He earned a little nudge from Rei, who for once was smiling just a tiny bit towards the boy. They seemed to trade secret messages with each other that made Atticus roll his eyes and nudged her back. Rei grinned further, and look toward the carriage door. "Remus and Eliza still dancing around or something...?"

《 I haven't read a book in English in almost a month it feels weird
I real tired but I finished the other half of the last one 》
“Of course it is. Elizabetha; how are you, dear?” Aunt Loretta gushed, her daughter - only a couple years older than Eliza - and now her grandson looking at Eliza cautiously, the way you might look at food you weren't sure was past it's expiry. “Have you found yourself a husband, yet? Oh, you must join us for dinner sometime, and we can all get caught up.”
She still had no idea what to say.
It had been years since Eliza had seen or heard from her extended family. The Ganseys were a reputable family in Noridi; old money, good reputation. Until her parents had floundered their spendings so much that they'd wound up bankrupt. Perhaps Sofia and Edmund had grown up a little too privileged. When it became apparent they would need to find jobs of a lesser caste in order to support their kids… well, they hadn't really tried. They'd watched their money go down the drain, watched as the creditors had come and seized their home, their possessions. They'd suddenly moved from a Royna manor to a small flat in the factory district in Brax. The rest of the Ganseys acted as though they'd never existed, eager to escape the stain they'd left on their reputation. And still Will and Eliza's parents had failed to find work, to even try to find work. So they did the only thing they could which, somehow, had led her here.
That was when Eliza understood a couple things at the same time.
The only reason her aunt would deem to talk to her at all, was because of her current attire. She looked like the upper class aristocrat she had once been supposed to grow up to be. Eliza looked, to them, like she'd somehow found a way back into good fortune. In reality she didn't own a stitch of the clothing she was wearing.
Secondly; she could never go back to being one of them . She'd been barely twelve when they'd moved, just barely getting into the age of being a socialite. She still remembered the endless etiquette lessons, the shallow accessorization of things, the false kindness with which everyone treated each other. Perhaps once she could've grown up to be that person. But now, after fighting just for a meal at the end of every day… She wasn't sure she'd be able to handle having everything handed to her. Even among the Crows, where she had a job, she found herself not knowing what to do with all her stuff.
But it could be an option. Could it? Could she possibly walk away from the Crows, find a comfortable life in a comfortable house with a man who made a good income that she could tolerate.
What was she supposed to say?
Eliza looked around desperately for some kind of exit, almost sighing with relief when she spotted Remus off to the side. “I… I think you've got the wrong person.” She replied softly, turning away before either woman could argue. She took Remus’s arm, not caring if she was dragging the redhead as they made their way toward the Crow's carriage. She was silent at first, not really wanting to talk about the encounter. And then, in a small voice;
“Remus, is it even possible to leave the Crow's peacefully?” Eliza stared straight ahead, wondering if not looking at anything might impede the tears she could feel wanting to form. She didn’t let them. She thought of the tattoos that every gang put on its members - not so much as the House did, just a small symbol. She thought of her own lack of one of these marks. Will had quickly conceded to getting his. She suspected they wouldn't allow her to go without for much longer.

[ That odd time when the norm is tossed off the rails ]
Remus felt so awkward standing there, he wasn't gonna lie. It felt like he was the awkward one out as the women talking to Eliza were well talking. People brushed past him and only sent him annoying glances since he was kind of standing in their way, but he didn't really mind. He was in a lot of peoples way most of the time. This feels like my old family reunion...only people are actually talking to me... He thought, furrowing his brows at the thought. You expect your family to talk to you, a gang member ruling under the hand of a cruel lord? Didn't think so. He was gonna intervene with this little whatever get together it was to get Eliza, but she was already dragging him away from the little group thing. He only cast a quick glance back at the strangers before looking back to Eliza, forcing himself not to frown at her.
He could guess it was family, he knew little about the Gansey's. Next to nothing really...it bothered him because he knew everything on everyone. But yet he kept his distance from the Gansey's probably because he...wanted to respect their privacy. But it didn't matter, he didn't push Eliza about who those people were. He guessed from the expression she wore earlier that she was just as surprised as anyone else would be in meeting family in such a odd place. When she did speak, he cast a glance towards her and then to the carriage. He stopped just short of the carriage steps, regarding her words and trying to form a response that was honest but gentle. He's been asked that question so many times. Can you really leave the Crows? Is there a way to leave the crows alive? ect. Before he would reply with lies of Of course, just pay off your debts or Nah not really you dead either way. So he just looked at Eliza, tipped her head up so he could see her face. "There's never really a peaceful way out...but it can be done...somehow" He said. And with that he opened the carriage door and helped Eliza inside.
Could it though? He thought. Remus has never tried. Nor could he ever leave cause the gang business was a drug, once you start it's so hard to quit. He had that conversation with his mother plenty of times (Between the yelling and the cursing and what not) but his family drama can wait. He hates them, they hate him. It's all good! He gave the signal to the driver ( He forgotten about the lad oops ) to get going before the guards start blocking off the streets, climbing in to squeeze in next to Rei with a calm expression on his face.
"Eventful night yeah? Just one more obstacle to jump over and then everyone can go to bed." Remus said with a sigh, his icy eyes darting to the newbies and then to his own. Lingering on Eliza for a moment before going to the carriages windows. Back on the road again eh? "Hopefully your 'leader' has enough sense to talk details later on." He added, fixing the cuffs of his jacket. "And then the rest of the plans will be made, you all will be paid and happily ever after for everyone....as long as no one dies"
"Well no one died this time" Sybil muttered.
"I know....it's odd. Like something really bad is gonna happen later on but that probably won't happen"
"It could"
"Most likely" He finished. With a smile, as the norm. Atticus raised an eyebrow to the red heads word but didn't really ask why he smiled to that thought. He didn't really ask a lot of questions concerning Remus...there was no point. It was like asking a fish why it needed water to breathe. Or why the sun was so bright. It was dumb.
"Someone will probably get stabbed...again" Remus muttered, eyes going to Sybil. "Yeah, maybe it will be you in a minute Hawkins" Sybil mumbled, but Remus just grinned. Happy little bugger considering he barely had to lift a finger. Either way the ride back was alright....for the most part. Sometimes Sybil and Remus would exchange the normal banter here and there. It was odd though, usually it was just Will, Sybil, Remus and Eliza but with the four extra it felt....oddly similar. But soon every thing will go back to normal once the newbies get their pay and so on. Remus was tempted to ask Rei to stay or even Heulfryn. He wouldn't mind the extra muscle. But hey! At leas they were in for a special surprise back at the Selunti.
Dante sitting at the card tables was a shock to everyone, Benny nearly had a heart attack and Edward almost barfed up his lunch. Poor Harold was the sap who was dealing his cards right now for the man, black hair combed back from his face and those dark pits in his eyes watching the cards. Waiting. His eyes only moving up when he heard the carriage wheels pull up.

《 Finallyyyy
Whaaaat? A month? That’s crazy - in a good way. 》
Eliza's heart felt as though it were stuck in her throat. Was Remus just saying that for her benefit? It was an answer but not an answer. And if she really thought about it, it sounded like a no - admittedly one that would let her down gently. But there was that chance at the end… Remus wasn't usually one to sugar coat things, in Eliza's experience. She would have asked him again, pestered him even for details, but he was already opening the carriage door to let her inside. She straightened her spine as she stepped inside, regaining her composure. She'd let it slip for a moment there, the familiar faces toying with her vulnerabilities, but she trusted Remus (wow, that was something she didn't think everyday - not that she didn't trust him, but he did have a habit of doing things Eliza herself wouldn't choose) not to hold it against her. She knew she ought to be ready for -
“Eliza!”
That. She ought to be ready for that.
Will, who had been suspiciously quiet since entering the carriage, was now looking at his sister. The truth was, rather unsurprisingly, that he'd been worried for her. He'd been very tempted to go back out there and look for her - only the knowledge that Remus was already doing just that and he had Sybil here to look out for too had kept him. Now he looked her up on down, searching for injury. She seemed to know exactly where his thoughts were, because she gave him one of her usual small, polite smiles. To him, she looked weary nonetheless. “I'm quite alright, William.” Eliza assured him. He opened his mouth to question her further, ask what had taken so long, but she shook her head. An odd look crossed her expression for a second. “Will, later, I think-” She frowned, shaking her head. “Nevermind.”
Heulfryn, meanwhile, had no interest in family politics or petty drama. He turned his attention distinctly out the window as conversation took place around him. He didn't particularly care for this… post-heist banter. If one could even call this a heist. It had been successful, sure, but also messy. A lot messier than what he usually involved himself in. It could've gone much worse, he realized. That didn't mean it had been particularly well executed. Of course, if he'd known ahead of time about Eius’s plans for a distraction, he could've made it more convincing. Nor would he have had to be directly involved in it.
“You acted like a prince… But what really got me was the bit before that. I didn't know you knocked that way.”
Waitwhatholdupasecond. No. He knew, having known this lot for more than a few seconds, that there would inevitably be teasing for what had happened. But Sybil had just said that she didn't think Eius knocked that way. No mention specifically of Heulfryn. Was he actually so obvious? It didn't really bother him if people knew specifically that fact, but he didn't like people knowing things about him in general. When you were a mystery, you could be anyone you wanted to be. Heulfryn was good at that - good at being what the situation demanded. He could be a thousand different faces, a dog in the street, a fleeting shadow. The thing that troubled him most was figuring out how to be himself. The fortunate thing was that the world didn't ask him to be himself all that often.
They would ask it less than never if they had any idea what he actually was.
Also he was pretty sure Eius wasn't gay. At least no more than he was the Prince of Kevior.
Nerys was still asleep when they got back to Selunti , so Heulfryn went ahead and hoisted her into his arms. If she'd been conscious, she probably would've been either threatening to carve out his guts or flirting with him, but as she was asleep until he decided otherwise, she was doing neither. He set her down as they got outside, slinging her arm around his shoulder. Time to wake up now, he thought as he loosened his own spellwork on the girl. It was easy as breathing, which led him to believe whatever incantation was on that crown was something of a work of art. It was like a virus in the mind - and with her internal defense mechanisms preoccupied in fighting to expel it, there was nothing in his way to work his own magic. Clever . A spell which would render a thief useless in their escape and vulnerable to control from a magic-wielder. He would have to inspect it later.
Nerys let out a muffled groan, a couple mumbled words in Lyrian escaping her lips. She didn't open her eyes, but she could stand on her own. Sleepwalking, in a sense. Heulfryn hadn't released her entirely. He wasn't one who could control minds - his abilities were a little different. He could put one to sleep, as he had Nerys, and then he could put his illusions to the subconscious. The illusions, the hypnosis… those were gifts from his father.
“That… That is creepy. ” Will commented as he inspected the sleepwalking Nerys. “Can you… control her when she's like that?” Heulfryn merely glowered at the young man, looking disapproving. Will straightened, stepping away with his hands raised in a casual manner as if to say never mind, sorry I asked in the most casual, easy-going way imaginable. He wasn't the type to start something actually aggressive. A battle of wits on the other hand…
Will stuffed his hands in his pockets, walking alongside Sybil up to the door. Heulfryn watched as he swept the door open for her dramatically, jokingly chivalrous. Heulfryn rolled his eyes. How the little blonde could cope with Gansey’s constant over-the-topness, he had no idea. He followed suit behind the pair, guiding Nerys with surprising gentleness when he saw Will freeze ahead of him. Heulfryn scented it a split second later. A scent he remembered distinctly from a few nights ago, when they'd formally met.
Dante Kahl.
He knew, without a second of hesitation, that the leader of the Crows couldn't see Nerys like this. Knew just as well there was no time now to let the spell wear off on its own. They had only right now, and they had only him. There was nothing anyone else in this crew could do for her right now but him.And so he reached for his other power, the one of light and sunshine - from his mother, without a doubt. Lightbringer. Spelltamer. Heulfryn had only inklings of her power, only the traces. But he did the one thing he could. He reached for the Rechisan Queen’s curse, brushed it with a soft hand. And then he let it flow willingly from Nerys's mind to his - where he might hope to contain it, if only for the couple minutes that he needed to.
And if he didn't… Well, who knew what might happen when it took the strings of his powers, of his secrets. The innocent little bug could wipe and him and all of the Brax district. All of the eastern end of the city, if it so chose.

[ it's the recovery part after the horrible finals that are taking place this week halp ]
Oh seven hells
Sybil had thought she was gonna be going to her room with the chance of relaxing after a hectic, unplanned night but when seeing Dante there she nearly collapsed and crawled back to the carriage. Sybil wasn't afraid of a lot of things, she was a tough nut to crack but Dante Kahl was someone she was terrified of. The man had a whole crime syndicate under his thumb, not to mention that Remus was frightened of the man and anyone Remus is scared of- you should be scared of. Sybil without thinking seemed to shrink back next to Will, the room wasn't loud and crazy like it usually was. It was suppose to be littered with people but the only ones here were a bunch of crows, even Benny was scrounged up from the infirmary and was standing off near the steps with Noah and Cassidy. Dante turned those pits of darkness toward the group entering, away from Harold who seemed to be shaking and fumbling with the cards.
Atticus entered behind Rei, Heulfryn who in turn had Nerys with him. Rei was just relieved to be back, ready to slip into something a bit more flattering for her tastes and get this damn crown back to Dante so she could get to nailing this group. She wanted to plan a ambush at the palace actually, catch the criminals red handed and ending this silly game of pretend. Even Atticus looked a bit exhausted, having been quiet the rest of the ride home probably thinking about tonight. Which in turn he was- He was thinking about what Sybil said and about tonight's events...it was odd that it knocked around his skull so much but it did...and it got him wondering which way he did knock. He remembered that gut feeling he got during the kiss and well it wasn't bad. He didn't hate it...he enjoyed it probably as much as he enjoyed kissing a girl. Maybe he liked both? Was that a thing? Could he do that?
He was in such deep thought he bumped right into Rei who had stopped in front of him, frowning as he looked at everyone else huddled not even in the middle of the room yet. But it didn't take him long to spot Dante, who was staring them down from where he sat. He wore probably one of the best looking suits Atticus has ever seen, a dark silver suit with pitch black undershirt with a deep blue ascot tied underneath the collar. He stood up from where he sat, his eyes roaming over the group looking for his little red headed dog that reports in. He popped up eventually behind the rest, always the last one in. Remus didn't show his shock like everyone else, he knew something was wrong when he opened the door and all he could hear was just a single set of cards being dealt. Remus took on this stern look, those icy eyes meeting back to his bosses while hiding his surprise of Dante actually being down in the main plaza of the Selunti which never happens. He moved to the front of the group, placing his hands in front of him. You always had to have your hands in front for Dante to see....you don't want him thinking you got some knife tucked away.
"Remus...you are all back so early" Dante spoke, his voice professional and proper like how a gentleman should be. "The party...did it get a bit hectic?" Dante said, his eyes roaming over the figures and taking in their ruffled clothes and messy hair. His eyes went to Sybil's bloody hand which she had wiped over her dress, the girl shrank back slightly under his gaze and refused to meet his eyes. She pressed closer to Will, her fingers drifting up to hold onto the very edge of his suits sleeve. "A little bit...nothing out of the normal though" Remus responded, his eyes looking to Dante's, his voice held a border line demand of looking at him. To stop intimidating his crows and focus on him. Dante glanced up to Remus, not even a flicker of the lips broke that emotionless mask he had on. "Of course...I expect nothing else from my crows" Dante said, now closer to the group. Remus stood his ground, lifting his chin slightly to look at Dante, Sybil hiding mostly behind Will the closer Dante got to them. Rei and Atticus stood slightly behind Remus with Heulfryn, who was doing some hocus pocus to Nerys or whatever. "What happened exactly?" Dante asked, his eyes drifting to Will for a moment and to his crumpled sleeves. "Nothing serious. Just a little scuffle...Sybil and Will took care of it..." Remus answered.
"Right...you look so much older you know" Dante said, reaching up to place a hand on Remus which resulted in a visible flinch away and then his body tensing up. Remus scolded himself for the reactions, for some reason the burns on his back tingled to remind him why he flinched away. Most of the time when Dante touched Remus it was with a branding poker...or with a pair of metal knuckles. Dante smiled at this actually, shifting his weight before patting Remus on the shoulder. "The pressure of the job is finally catching up to you eh Hawkins?" He continued, removing his hand. "Nothing I can't handle" Remus replied
"Hm...anyways, and the younger ones? Did they succeed in getting something of worth?" He said after a small pause, his eyes looking to Sybil and Will while Remus spoke the whole time. Remus refused to sigh in frustration at Dante. He knew what Dante was doing, intimidating them like they were kids...hard to believe this man standing before them had younger children of his own and a wife. Remus turned his head slightly and nodded for someone to step up. He knew Nerys was in sleepwalking land or something but right now there needed to be someone talking for them. And since Rei had the crown on her, she only took a small glance towards Nerys and Heulfryn before coming forward to stand next to Remus. "You the one from Yokai?" Dante asked Rei, who gave the slightest nod with her head. "Right...anyway let's see it" Dante said, gesturing for Rei to go on and show the trick. She glanced down to the bag, reaching down to unclasp it and at first reached for the crown but hesitated. She didn't want to be struck dumb like Nerys had moments ago but...a spell like that usually only works once. But the magic was still present, it made her skin prickle. Gods she hated that feeling....but she couldn't freeze up now. She took a risk and grasped the crown, dragging it up for the man before her to see. "There are some jewels too but...I'm sure this is better then any emerald" She said softly, looking to Dante who's eyes drank in the sight of the crown
"My...impressive...for a bunch of rookies..." Dante mused, reaching out to take the crown from Rei's hands and lift it up to the light. Remus watched Dante, he could tell he was interested. Intrigued by the fact that he was holding a crown made for real royalty. And probably how much it could go for on the black market in the Brax district. "Very nice...freshly cut diamonds...worn together with rare Yokai iron from the mountains most likely" Dante said softly, Remus forgot that Dante's actual day job was inspecting jewels and was a trade at heart. Merchant to make it simple. "Noah-" Dante said, giving a short and sharp snap of his fingers to the boy behind him. Noah paused for a moment, probably surprised his name was even called by Dante before being shoved by Edward. "Move it mate" Edward said, watching as Noah scrambled forward to the taller mans side. Dante handed the boy the crown, his eyes moving to Will. "I want that weighed and sold before the month is over...put most of the funds into maybe getting some new carpeting for here...something darker" Dante said, looking at the bright red carpets that seemed brand new ( They were actually, less then a month ago ) "And the jewels, have them delivered to Henry so we can trade them for cash...and I'm still waiting on the newest numbers William...I hope your distractions can be cleared."
HIs eyes went to the former Prince of Wolves, a dead stare in his eyes. "I can always make free time for you...." He added, his eyes going towards Sybil and Eliza for a split second and then to Will again before looking to Rei. He nodded toward Noah, probably gesturing for her to hand over the jewels stashed in there too. "Now I am impressed with your haul young ones but um...I'm think I should talk to your little pirate leader before anything else. We need to discuss plans and details, I need to know everything about what she wants so I know the...total cost of our services to you" Dante went on to say, shifting his body while looking for said girl. Atticus on the other hand was waiting more with Heulfryn and Nerys, nearly having a heart attack when Dante's eyes came to the three. Crap crap crap He thought, looking toward Heulfryn and wondering if he could do some wishy washy magic thingy to make Nerys better. "Sir don't you want a recap of toni-"
"Not really, I don't see a point. Your only goal was to bring back something of substantial value...I could care less how it went" Dante interrupted Remus, who clamped his mouth shut tightly before looking away. Hiding the spark of anger that broke those icy blue eyes. "Unless something happened that could cause of danger to the job ahead...I don't invest in risks" Dante went on, moving around the group. Remus turned his head slightly, his jaw clamped shut and forcing himself not to tell Dante it didn't matter. That they knew enough, that they could go on with this job without having a whole gaggle about it. But when glancing towards Benny, who gave a shake of his head, he kept still. Sybil kept close to Will, Rei turned her body to look towards the others and Atticus who stayed close to Nerys and Heulfryn. Anytime now magic boy.....
Oh god look how tall he is
Is it hot in here or is it just me? Did someone...leave a stove on?

《 Lucky. I only get like two weeks ono
When you try to start writing but then spend ten whole minutes mentally debating what Hogwarts houses your characters would be in cx 》
Dante Kahl was the kind of person that dominated a room. He was also, not coincidentally, the kind of man Eliza hated most. He stood for everything she fought against. Crime and greed and violence. She watched as every one of her companions shrunk a little in his presence - even Remus, who she kind of expected not to shrink at anything, flinched away from his touch. She felt herself shrink back in turn - her, just an heiress to a fallen family, just a simple pickpocket off the street. She was nothing in his presence and - no. Eliza straightened, lifting her chin. Not so much as to look defiant, but enough to show she wasn't afraid. She wouldn't be afraid of Dante Kahl. He was just another man - one with money in his pockets and a whole crime syndicate wrapped around his finger, but still just a man.
Her brother's thoughts were on an entirely different set of rails.
Will was frozen, locked in place, immobile. His eyes didn't stray from Kahl for a second as he spoke. First addressing Remus, then Rei. He hardly registered the words he was saying. Will didn't hear Dante, didn't see him. In his mind, there was a wolf in that fine gray suit. In his mind, it was Conall’s smooth voice lapping at his ears. I'm proud of you, boy. So proud. How far you've come, since you've arrived. Tell me… Nonononono. He wasn't a wolf anymore. His mind jumped to numbers, numbers he could make sense of. Onetwothreefourfivesixseveneightnine…
Tell me, boy; did he scream?
Dark eyes shifting to him. I'm still waiting. I hope your distractions can be cleared. Not Conall’s voice this time - that had been real. And then the eyes shifted a few inches to his left, farther, stopping on two individuals. His heart stopped a little.
Distractions. Sybil's fingers on his sleeve suddenly felt like ten pound weights. Will swallowed. Something was doing acrobatics in his stomach, nausea intensifying momentarily. Right. Of course Dante would play that card. He took a breath, shifted ever-so-slightly away from the girl by his side. And he smiled - slick and oozy and everything he wasn't. “Of course, sir.” William Gansey said. He was ready for more, but the boss’s attention merely drifted onwards. Something in him loosened slightly, but he already felt as if his body were numb.
Heulfryn’s own work had come into effect right on time, for when Dante turned his attention to the supposed leader of their little dysfunctional group, it was Nerys staring back at him. Actually Nerys, minus any sort of enchantments - although she was feeling a hair bit confused. And mortified. And murderous. She could remember taking the crown, and everything she did subsequently, right up to when she'd gotten in the carriage, and then… poof, nothing. And now she was here, feeling - as far as she could tell - absolutely fine. And staring Dante Kahl in the eyes. She'd awoken to hear him ask to speak with her, so at least she hadn't missed the question, but she had no idea what had happened between her passing out and this very moment. Luckily Nerys was very used to improvisation. “Very well,” she replied. “Perhaps to take this conversation where there might be less… prying ears?”
Heulfryn could barely let out a breath of relief as he watched a fully functional Nerys converse with Dante Kahl. Almost his entire focus was dedicated to keeping the spellwork contained within himself. It was a challenging technique, one that required immense concentration. But it was either that or have one of them running around giggling like a five year old, and he knew which one he'd rather avoid. All he wanted was for this conversation to end so he could be on his way, shut himself in his rooms here to sleep it off. He carefully took a glance around, holding a tight leash on the beast he'd taken on. It seemed as though it was winding down. As though Kahl had taken a turn on everyone he wanted to.
Heulfryn’s eyes caught Eius’s as he tried to skip past and faltered for a second at - a nervous thrill ran through his body, weirdly light like - like a thought that wasn't his, he thought as he slammed the shackles back on the magic. He'd let it slip for just a split second, long enough for a trace to slip through his fingers. It was certainly potent - that little slip had his thoughts feeling clumsier than usual, his limbs tingly. Worse still, his hold on his glamour felt slippery, which likely meant the enchantment inhibited magic. Which meant it would get progressively harder for him to control if he slipped up again. Clever, wicked thing.
He averted his gaze rather pointedly, glowering. Why the heck was Eius looking at him weirdly now? That damned kiss had made everything weird - much weirder than Heulfryn had calculated for. This stupid spell wasn't helping. Lookathimlookathimlookathim, it whispered sweetly. He ignored it. Look. At. Him. He relented, just for a fleeting glance. To make sure the boy wasn’t still staring at him.

Dante grinned at the girl ever so slightly before nodding his head. "Of course...follow me. You as well Remus" Dante said, and gestured his hand forward for the girl to follow him. Remus sent a glance behind him, not really intended for anyone, just a look of worry to see how rattled everyone could be. Then he followed after Dante when he began to move, the crows on the steps scrambled out of the way when the head boss man came walking up. Benny held a scowl on his bearded face as the man passed, arms crossed and withholding a growl. Edward could only go to Harolds side who was still fumbling with the cards. Dante held that kind of presence...he wasn't like the wolves or the phoenixes...he was a demon trapped in a suit with pits for eyes. He was the man that could shackle someone to his will within minutes and had a personality so cold that it could give a hot summer day frostbite. Remus could just hold his head up as they climbed the stairs, the trio making their way to the very private chambers of Dante Kahl.
And by private, it also means very lush looking. Expensive. Dante's office was the most expensive room in this whole building, the carpets were black felt and trimmed with gold. The curtains were silk and tied back with the same gold colored cords. The desk was dark oak, hand carved and shipped from Letva, and the fire place was kept clean and polished. The ashes never spent so much as 24 hours in there, swept out before the big man could see a speck of it. Not to mention, the fireplace was a known punishment area...so Dante liked to keep his work place tidy for his other....visitors. Even when they entered, it felt so cold here. Like the fireplace didn't do anything with the burning of wood...it just felt cold. Dante walked over to his desk and let out a long sigh as he sank into that black plush chair, his pens kept in a neat row to the right and his papers in a neat stack on the left which made room for him to fold his hands. "Please sit Miss Nerys...we have a lot to discuss and the sooner we can get it done the faster you can return to your room and sleep away tonights events" Dante said, Remus standing off to the left hand side of Dante's desk. Like some watch dog on a leash...actually it was almost exactly like that. Plus there was only one chair placed in front of Dante's desk.
"I am impressed with what you came back with, and I know that the details of this mission are required but...I don't really care how you got the crown. Just that you came back with something that wasn't dull. But I'm sure with my crows helping you on a job much bigger then this, you will return with much more then a crown" Dante said, his voice soft in the room. That was how he acted at first, drawing your attention and making it seem like he's this fantastic dude. Remus has seen Dante go off before, and a man ended up dead as well as his whole family being tossed into the river...tied up and very much alive. "Of course our services will not go free so we must talk payment...and also the resources you will need for this job. Who will come with and so on. Also the main goal of your job...I understand the...risk of it. But I wish to know the manner of why it is being done and how" He went on, so proper sounding. Like a true business man. He wasn't like Remus who sported a smile and talked with a brightness to him. He was dark and filled with venom. It was how he made people uncomfortable, so they can squirm under his gaze. He did this when people talked about getting loans from him or doing a job...he had to show them that they were the customer and he was the supplier. The boss.
"I don't want to give over my best crows if you don't even have a foundation to your plan. They cost a lot and I would hate to loose such rare figures in my group. It's how I stay a float with these wolves and phoenix's flying about" He went on, mentioning the House of Wolves and the Red Phoenix group. It was the former group Remus had been in, but after a slight 'typo' concerning their money and trade in put Remus promptly quit to go into this business. "Invading the palace is...a very risky job. And killing the whole family well...even more of a risk with those guards littering about...and I don't really support child killers. I have two of my own you know....brilliant kids" Dante leaned backwards slightly, keeping his eyes on Nerys. "So speak your thoughts and plans....give me some numbers to work with girl"
- Sybil almost clawed her nails into Will as he shifted, noting how he moved away from her even if it wasn't a lot. She knew that Dante was frightening, heck she was too but you never move from your spot. You may shrink away and shuffle around but you don't move from your spot. That's how he played it, that's how he wanted you. Wiggling around like a dirty little worm on the floor waiting to be squished under his boot. Sybil felt her eyes drift up to this monsters and almost snarled at him for doing that dumb eye trick. She wanted to claw those eyes out with her own fingers and use them as toys for the mutts. But she never got a chance to do anything cause the man was already walking away from them with Remus and Nerys in tow. She didn't relax until the man was up the stairs and out of sight, a collective sigh filling the room with her included. Sybil released Will's sleeve and crossed her arms over her chest like she was trying to fold in on herself, whatever blood from her cut that was still leaking out got smeared over her arm. "I can see he's still an enjoyable man to be around" She heard Atticus say from behind. She smiled slightly at that, shrugging her shoulders. "He's the life of the party..." She mumbled, looking up towards Will for a second.
"Are you...alright?" She asked him with a hushed voice. She knew that Dante would stab at that card, the whole 'I can kill your loved ones' act. It was his signature go to now a days....and she hoped it didn't make Will want to do that dumb thing most male characters do in books. "Oh I care about you so let me put distance between the two of us to keep you safe for no reason and make things worse for our relationship!" kind of deal. She hated that, and if Will even thought about doing something like that then she would beat him silly. She was a big girl, as was Eliza. They weren't gonna get knocked down by some goons Dante sent, did Will not just see Sybil beat that guard at the party like he was some piñata? "You don't have to go right to work right away...He's just trying to frighten you" She added in a hushed whisper, shifting close to Will with concern written in her grey eyes. "Maybe you should go to bed and get cleaned up or...or something." She added. Sybil could hear approaching footsteps, telling by the sound of how heavy they fell it was most likely Benny.
"Well that was something you don't see everyday" The large man huffed, his eyes going to Sybil and Will for a moment before going to Rei and Eliza, looking for injuries most likely. "He doesn't come down a lot I suppose?" Rei asked, previously watching Nerys for as long as she could before the girl vanished from her sight. "Are you kidding me? The man never comes down here...only when something really important is goin' on mate" Came new voices, Edward and Harold from before and poor Noah was sent scrambling toward Will's office to drop off the haul. "Or if he wants to make a public execution. Remember Riley from Portsmouth?" Benny huffed, Edward supporting Harold with his arm wrapped around the lads shoulders and saying 'He isn't gonna cut them off lad.' But tuned in on the note of Riley from Portsmouth. "Oh yeah! Man that was nasty. And I've been around a whil'...poor Riley. No grandchildren in his future" Edward muttered. Rei raised an eyebrow at the men here, wanting to ask further about this...Riley but decided to leave it at best. "But anyway...what happened eh? You all looked really frazzled before running into Mr. Cold shoulder. Anything Exciting happen?" The large man asked, the gossip man he was.
Atticus had stayed mostly out of the conversation at that point, not like he was saying much at all really. His eyes kept glancing toward Heulfryn, wondering what the fae did to Nerys to make her normal and not some bumbling idiot like before. He seemed different, more focused on something that wasn't here with them. He shifted slightly, keeping the eye contact with the fae as long as he could before the other man looked away once more with a unhappy look to his face. But something was off, Atticus could feel it in a odd sense. He quirked his mouth to the side for a moment before reaching out to place a hand on Heulfryn's shoulder, just as Heulfryn looked back up to Atticus. "Hey are...are you alright? You seem ah...not okay like you were a few seconds ago..." He asked with a lowered voice, hazel eyes filled with a trace of concern and confusion to Heulfryn's sudden mood change. Or maybe because of how the air around him felt now. Maybe it was because of the magic he worked a moment ago on Nerys? "Do you need like...water? Food?...A couch?" He listed off, shrugging after the last one.
"I mean you just...I just don't want you like passing out right...or throwing up. Or whatever is wrong with you" He continued to talk, like his mouth didn't know if he should shut up or not. It just felt like Atticus should keep on talking...that it felt awkward to leave it off with neither of them talking. "Do you need a drink? Slippers, a sandwich? Maybe you need food, are you feeling drained? Do...do you need like a recharge? Geez I....I don't know I'm running out of things to say" He mumbled and shrugged again, his eyebrows lifting up in question as he looked back at Heulfryn.

《 I couldn't think of an elaborate plan to break into the palace do you have any ideas?
Ooh now I’m curious; what houses are they in? cx 》
wasn't until Dante had disappeared upstairs with Nerys and Remus that Will was able to breath properly again. Until any of them could breath properly again. He drew in a deep breath, long and slow, letting his eyes fall shut as he eased back into his natural posture - his own persona. He felt Sybil come closer before he saw her, which loosened the knot in his chest a notch. It wasn't enough to free him from the feeling of unease that had crept over him, but it helped. “No,” he replied softly, honestly. “But I will be. It's just… Nevermind.” He shook his head, eyes fixed on her. It wasn't worth saying but… He had things to think about. As to the question of working… “I should, actually. Threats or not, I'm behind. But first,” he lifted the wrist of her hand, gentle as can be. “Let's look after this, shall we? No complaints. You won't be rid of me until I see this cleaned and dressed.” The job would usually belong to Benny, but he hoped the big bearded man would ignore that little fact this time. Just to give Will an excuse. And maybe a little alone time with Sybil.
Who knew how much more he would have. He had a lot to think about. What Dante had said was part of it - he had been naïve about this whole relationship so far, had broken every rule he'd established over the past number of years for himself. Being him he'd earned a lot of enemies, and enemies went for people you cared about. They always would. And he had made it no secret that he cared about Sybil. He'd never even allowed himself to become so involved with someone. Sybil could take care of herself, but that didn't mean they shouldn't minimize the risks.
Then, of course, there was the other matter that had been plaguing his mind recently. Two things, actually, tightly interwoven. Two questions to ask, which terrified the life out of him. And made him feel older than usual. So many things to think about. One day it would all become too much and Will’s mind was going to break down into a nonfunctional string of numbers and useless information.
Don't touch me, mortal, Heulfryn almost growled, his occupied attention span his only real force of restraint. He didn't currently have the capability to imagine all the stupid things he might be doing right now if he weren't in control of this spell. And of course Eius was doing the exact opposite of helping. He had his hand on Heulfryn’s arm and was speaking in this careful, concerned tone. The way one might speak to a sick puppy. Heulfryn was tempted to smack him. With a brick. Or worse, whispered a little voice in his head that was clearly not his own. He shuddered at its foreign lull, singing out sweet promises to him if he'd just let it out of the mental cage he'd built. He wanted it gone, now.
He looked back at Eius, completely serious. “A sedative.” He replied abruptly, doing some quick calculations - which could much more accurately be called estimations given his free mental capacity at the moment. Better to round up, he supposed. “I need you to get me a sedative. Something powerful - I need to be out for at least ten hours. Which would be at least a human fifteen, taking into account the difference in Fae… and not Fae…” Could it tap into his powers while he was asleep? That was a risk he wasn't willing to take. “Scratch that; make it the strongest one you can find. And then… I need you to make sure I take it. You got that, mortal?”

[ Errrrr well how about this, because of Atticus's 'connections' they create a plan where they sneak in through the back of the palace at night time using like food crates or whatever to slip into the kitchen. Then they each split up to knock out one of the royal family members, but Atticus says he will join them later to be look out but is actually hiding out in his little sisters room wearing all the fancy prince gettup and meets with Nerys and some dramatic stuff happen or something. i'm on that muse train ] [ Sybil and Rei are defiantly Gryffindor, Atticus is Hufflepuff, Remus is Ravenclaw cause he a smart cookie. and benny is hagrid do you know what houses yours are? ]
Sybil released a small sigh at his words, wishing he would talk to her. She got this nervous knot in her stomach this was gonna either turn out just fine or Will was gonna do something totally stupid that she won't allow. Either way, she hated Dante for reigniting whatever fear Will had harbored inside his head. She pressed her lips together and looked at her hand as he lifted it, raising an eyebrow at him. "Will it's just a tiny cut though...even I can dress this..." She mumbled, pouting slightly as she looked at her hand. His touch sent a slight flutter into her stomach that churned with the unease she felt. Thus making her feel a bit nauseous, too much feelings for her right now. "But if you insist....I don't want you nagging me all night about this silly cut" She admitted and bit her bottom lip before shrugging. She took the edge of his sleeve and tugged him along with her good hand, right towards the hall leading to the infirmary. A second home to Sybil actually, with how many fights she gets into either resulting in the rare broken arm ( A bad fight with a much bigger and fatter brawler ) to the one time she was stabbed in the side by a tossed knife ( not her greatest moment ) and then to the smallest of open wounds caused by a sharp sword or knife. A certain bed was even reserved for her there, right in the corner where she liked it. She could walk to the infirmary from the rings below with her eyes shut tight and her head wrapped in a black cloth.
Sybil pushed open the door to the infirmary and went right to the cabinets in search of pants and a shirt to wear. The infirmary was always a bit chilly so wearing a dress in here was worse then wearing it in public where everyone could see your legs. "I don't understand why Benny doesn't keep more women pants around" She muttered, dragging out a large long sleeve shirt from the cabinet and slipped it over her head without so much as a second thought. As silly as she looked getting it on too, struggling to get her head through the hole and her arms being a tad too short for the sleeves, by the time she did get the shirt on her hair was all messed up and frazzled. "Much better" She said, letting out a long sigh as she kicked off her shoes and went right back to her little infirmary bed. "I'm ready for surgery doctor. Operation is a go" Sybil joked as she plopped down on the bed and held out her hand waggling her fingers. Her gray eyes were pinned on Will as she sat there, smiling slightly like everything was A-Okay. While inside of her, she was a nervous knot. Why didn't Will ask Benny to dress her hand? Why did he want to do it? Was it because he wanted to get alone time? What for? A tiny voice immediately shouted in her brain that he was gonna break off whatever craze they had going on. That he was gonna do that stupid thing boys do, and leave her wheeling back from the hurt and heartbreak.
Oh gods be damned Sybil stop it she thought to herself, wiggling on the bed as she looked at him. "And when we're done you can do your math thingy for sir cranky pants" She kept on talking, still fidgeting around as she waited for Will to talk or something. It didn't even occur to her this might just be him wanting to spend time with her or maybe he was gonna talk about something good. She just thought about the bad, and how she was gonna end up like a character in her book who got their heart broken and went on this silly journey to find herself and uncalled for drama over this tiny fact. I will not end up like that she thought immediately. In fact if Will even starts talking about that, she would jump up and knee him where the sun don't shine.
"First of all stop calling me mortal, I have a name. Use it or else I'll call you Mister sparkle. Second, Like nighty nighty junk?" Atticus said, his face crinkling up as to wondering what he should do. "Um Rei do you carry sedatives?" Atticus asked, a little worry about why Heulfryn needed to be knocked out so badly. "A Sedative? Why?" She asked, having previously been in conversation with Benny and the two other men. "Cause Heulfryn needs it, um. A really strong one. Do you guys carry that kind of stuff?" Atticus asked, like time was eating away at his soul. "We don't carry knock out sedatives, last time we did a certain couple thought it would be funny to see how much of it they can inject before blacking out...and nearly stopping their heart" Benny said, looking pointly at Edward who edged backwards a bit. "We carry numbing sedatives and that's all. But there are other ways to knock a man out for a while" Benny added, Harold pounding his fist into his palm and grinned slightly at the fae. "We aren't going to punch him into passing out!" Atticus said, startled by how quick the group were to violence. Wait why was he even surprised.
"Why not?!" Edward sighed like a child being denied the right to play outside. "Just a little left hook and right hook and he's out for a good while, then repeat until the time is up" Benny muttered, while Atticus just sputtered out no's left and right. "Atticus it could work....it is possible...human or not a good punch gonna take you out" Rei added, leaving off the tidbit that Atticus had indeed been knocked out for a while after being elbowed by Gren during a training session that got a bit rough. "I don't want to resort to violence I mean....what about sleeping medicine...take a enough without going over the risk limit and you can black out for a while..." Atticus said with a bit of pause here and there. Benny tipped his head slightly before letting out a long disappointing sigh. "I suppose feeding him enough sleeping meds would induce it. " Benny said, patting his pockets for a minute and thus fishing out a small jar of purple powder. "You carry sleeping medicine?" Edward muttered raising a little rusty brown eyebrow.
"How else do you think I get through Remus's boring business meetings every week?"
"Those are still a thing?" He said as Benny unscrewed the cap and handed it to Atticus. "Uhh...bottoms up mate?" Atticus said and shrugged slightly as he held the jar up. "Do I just...force it down your throat or do I just...? You want a spoon?

《 Love it. Ok, I'll get on that once I get back from the barn. And finish my homework.
Yup. And Ilvermorny houses for a couple of them though tbh I still have no clue what makes someone a wampus because no one I know is wampus . Eliza is def Hufflepuff/Horned Serpent; Will is Ravenclaw/Thunderbird; Nerys is Gryffindor/Idek (maybe Thunderbird?); and Heulfryn is my cute lil Slytherin/Pukwudgie (yes. I'm 100% sure the grumpy old man is a Pukwudgie) 》

《 Ack. My homework took way longer than planned. I don't think I'm gonna be able to get a reply up tonight. But I can chat for a lil bit if you're around.
True. I kinda get it. I think Nerys might be a cross between a Thunderbird and a Wampus. A Thunderwampus. Because I think she's definitely adventurous, being a pirate and all, but also has some charistrristics of the warrior. Idk. Funny how all the ships are more or less in the same Ilvermorny houses (I'd say Atticus is also a Pukwudgie because they're supposed to have heart y'know) 》

[ That's cool, homework is yuck with a whole lot of ew. So let's chatty chat~~~~ ]
[ Thunderwampus, I like it. I just put the characters into houses I feel the would be, or what I am. Cause I'm Gryffindor/Hufflepuff I had to take it twice to make sure cause I could go for either or They are so shipped together that they end up in the same houses I just thought of the face Heulfryn would make when seeing Atticus if sorted to Puckwudgie. I feel like Atticus would be a Puckwudige but he could also be a Thunderbird cause he can be adventure and stuff.
