Megido ♤♡♧♢••••• Once he'd gotten all leafs off his coat, Sparrow shook himself just to make sure. Whilst doing so he listened to Marsh's explanations, the larger, black kit's long tailfur puffed up like a brush. "She's mean to adult cats? Oh man." His words sounded only slightly concerned. He was a bit larger than the average 3 moons old, thanks to his father's blood, hopefully this 'Wasp' wouldn't mistake him for a grown! Sparrow sat down and licked his hurting paw, clumsily brushing his tail with it as though it was fine, before trying to answer Match. "Uhh, yeah, it's pretty far, ain't it?" His blue eyes brushed over the other kitten's face. "I'm from a barn nearby the horseplace. I live there together with my father Bark. But it's boring sometimes and I love hunting birds for fun, so I came here."

{{ Thanks }} Cora stopped in her tracks and quickly spun around to face the cat who approached her from behind. She found herself standing a couple of paces from a large dark brown tabby tomcat. He was obviously way bigger than her so she didn't bother to bristle her fur at him coming under the impression that this might be his territory. "My apologies", she meowed, "I didn't realize this territory belonged to anyone", she added. "If you wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction for a good hunt, I could use a good meal, I've been traveling for more than a couple of sunrises." Jagg finished grooming his slightly patchy pelt and found himself a puddle between the roots of a large oak. Quickly lapping up the cool water he felt refreshed and sat back down licking the water droplets from his whiskers.

Vine stuck her nose up in the air, ears twitching slightly as she took in the sounds and smells of the forest. Cautiously, she taps the earth as she goes along, following the slightest scent of blood as she shook out her damp pelt. Someone, somewhere, had killed something, and if she could, she intended to bring it back to her brother. Assuming she could find it, of course. Tail high in the air, she carefully sniffed along a narrow forest path, ever nearing Moon's buried squirrel. //Let me know if you'd prefer a different cat - namely Wasp, as Vine and Marsh as a package deal Moon hadn't noticed the scent of the kit as she spotted a mouse, after realizing the vole was long gone. she was crouched and got ready to pounce, since the mouse was only a fox tail away. when she pounced she missed by a paw step. "mouse-dung!" she cursed before pouncing again and this time managed to caught it, then killed it with a bite to the neck. 'that should be enough for the both of us.' Moon thought and then started to head back to where she buried the squirrel, the kit's scent completely covered by the mouse's scent now. (im good with vine and marsh :3, also could you like my post when you reply? it's easier to know when I should come back. ^-^")

Vine had since stolen the squirrel, tripping over it haphazardly as she felt her way back. This was slow going, and she couldn't smell anything over the blood and wild scents of squirrel. She could barely hear over the rustle of leaves, but the faint sound of footsteps. Surely whoever had caught this was coming back to get it. Scrabbling into a nearly space that felt small and dark, she hid under a bramble, hoping they would assume a fox or another cat who would be long gone taken it. Don't notice me, she willed, sightless eyes wide, nearly glowing white in the gloom.
Wasp purred in amusement, whiskers twitching. Of course. That was a very defensive answer. "That's an awfully far ways away, kittens- and white she-cat who has not answered one of my questions. I asked who you are, first thing I said." Pausing, she washed one paw pad, letting Snow see the claws that they hid. The pads were rough and calloused from scraping, burning, everything a cat could do to them. "I'm Wasp, if it makes you less difficult if I say something first." That might have been an offer, that might have been a hint to say not long. It was somewhat unclear by her tone.

peixesMarsh nodded, looking him over. He certainly was a big cat! But he still smelled like a kit, and with Marsh's assurance, Wasp would probably let him be. She tended to trust her own, as far as he could tell, and it's not like a cat's age was somethign to lie about! "Yeah, she really doesn't like grown cats on her land. But you'll be fine! It's cats her age she has a problem with. Or older - especially if they're bigger!" He purrs in amusement, just remembering the last time a grown cat tried to cross Wasp's path. That had not end well for anyone involved. "You come all the way our here just to hunt birds? That some real determination..." Marsh froze, hackles raising a little. "Your father is Bark? You mean the loner that Wasp talks about all the time? Oh stars, you gotta tell me all about him! Wasp calls him a huge, brainless brute who's too polite for his own good, but I know that can't be true! What's he like?"

"Snow, Bristle, Bog. Got it. As I said, I'm Wasp. The other cats you might find in this neck of the woods are Vine and Marsh - do not lay a claw on either or them. Especially not Vine." Her stance shifted somewhat threatening for a moment, the prospect of the blind young she-kit getting jumped too much for her to handle. "I guess you can stay around here if you want to. I don't have the heart to chase half-starved kits across the river. Just don't invite anyone else in. Especially grown cats. I'm not looking to form a group. Got it, Snow?" She fixed her gaze, more intense than before, on Snow. Accusing, daring her to protest the only rule she'd laid down for this neck of the woods. "Elsewise, you can cross the river, go south until you see the stream, which isn't far, or go east until you reach Bark's territory. What he does to you is not my problem. Understood?"

Moon narrowed her eyes seeing the spot she buried the squirrel dug up, her fur bristled in annoyance. 'oh come on,' moon thought bitterly, before setting the mouse down and scented the air. there was fresh scent of cat, but she couldn't tell which way the went.

Vine curled into herself even more, listening intently for the she-cat outside. Once she'd left, it was a long trek back to the nest, but it was worth it. Wasp would be proud of her, and she'd having something good to eat! she just had to avoid being caught, easy. Easy until the squirrel's tail started tickling her nose. Eyes wide with the realization, she sneezed, immediately trying to scrabble a bit further back into the bramble with her prize. She was not losing it so easy!

"Understood. We don't have no-one who'd we invite anyhow." Snow responded simply, wondering if she could ask this she-cat, Wasp, was it? If she could teach Snow how to hunt. She wanted to take care of Bristle and Bog, and she couldn't if she didn't know how to hunt. She stood up, wincing slightly as she pulled against the still-healing scratch from the day before. Snow knew how to fight, how to fight dirty and how to win, but she didn't know how to hunt, something that was apparently important in this world of the woods.
(Is it okay if she has, like, terrible grammar since she's still a little young and no one ever taught her how to speak properly? Like, I'm literate, I swear!)

Megido♤♡♢♧•••• Sparrow's face pulled into a grimace at hearing about the way Wasp talked about his father. Sure, was a bit compliant, grumpy a lot, but he wasn't brainless! If anything, he was probably smarter than her and she was just jealous! The black kit's long neckfur ruffled visibly irritated. "She calls him WHAT? He isn't brainless!!! He's super smart and big and cares a lot and-" he coughed for a moment. Great, choking on one's own spit while upset, that wasn't embarassing at all, nooooooo. Sparrow arched his back as he coughed, and after catching his breath again he smoothed his fur out, taking a deep breath to collect himself. "Wasp obviously knows next to nothing about my father." the black tomcat grumbled, looking past Marsh for a moment. "Why's she so mean???" _______________________ Falconwing♤♡♢♧•••• Bark nodded his head a tad to the side as Cora answered. His whiskers twitched for a moment, before replying. "Oh, don't worry, the owner of this territory hasn't found you yet. If she had, you'd either not be here or hang in bloody shreds before me now." the older tomcat purred in slight amusement. As he sat and licked his paw, smoothening his face's pelt, he replied to Cora. "You don't smell like you come from here. You're a stranger, and as you mentioned, you're hungry. Perhabs, one paw washes the other, hm?" By now, Bark's yellow eyes stared at Cora. "I can show you the way to the barn I live at. Plenty of fat mice in the cornfields there. You don't happen to have seen a black kit on your way through here, with long fur, possibly hunting birds, do you?"

//Yeah, that's fine, don't worry! I appreciate in-character dialogue over perfect grammar, anyway. Wasp nodded once, and seemed to visibly relax, pelt smooth and expression contemplative. "Well then. Welcome, I suppose. There's enough prey around here for six cats." Another pause, just as she turned to leave. "... My den is just over this rise, under a log with mushrooms growing out of it. If you need something, just wait there, okay? I don't need kits tromping all over the forest scaring prey because they don't know what to do." She couldn't believe she was doing this, letting Snow and her ilk stay. But, how could she be as heartless as she was to grown cats? Bristle and Bog were barely out of their downy kit-fur. "Try and stay away from the Horseplace if you can. The cat there will fill your head with rubbish." And tell you what I'm really like, She thought, shaking her head. "Anything else, before I go back to my hunting?"
Marsh regarded Sparrow with something like shock, stepping back a little as he got worked up. He ducked his head in a placating manner, tail puffed up in fright. "Okay, okay, sorry! I didn't know it would matter that much what a grumpy she-cat like Wasp thought. She's just. She's weird, I don't know." She sighs, looking back in the direction towards the nest, where he knew she could find her if he needed. "I think something bad happened to her, when she was younger. She talks a lot, when she thinks Vine and I are sleeping. But I have no idea what she has against your father. Is he really, really big? Because that might be it." He knew Wasp has a serious issue with big cats, for some reason. She'd never say why. "But, ah, she's not so bad once she decides she can tolerate you. Honest. Though I wouldn't really. Know any different? She's the only mom I've known. But... where's your mom, Sparrow? You mentioned a father, but..."

Sparrow pressed his ears to his head, feeling a bit bad about startling Marsh like this. Rubbing his paw over his right frontleg he averted his gaze, stretching out his words. "Sooorryyy... Iiiii. Didn't mean to scare you."
Looking back at Marsh, the young farmcat attempted something resembling of a small smile, but that was quickly driven away by Marsh's next question.
"Ahaha yeahhh I. Don't know where she is. Somewhere! I suppose?" A dry laughter came from him, quickly overplayed by off confidence.
"Heyyy, wanna get away from here, I can't stand to see this dumb pile of leafs any longer."

"Uh, sure, we can go... I know this spot over by the stream that's always swarming with birds, if you want!" Marsh replied, ducking his head in the direction of said stream. "I can't hunt yet, but clearly you can! And I feel bad about ruining your first catch, so. C'mon!" He bounded over a root, starting towards a narrow trail through the bushes. Better to end everything on a positive note, he figured. Like hunting, and not pointing out that practically none of his questions are being answered when it came to Bark. He hadn't even gotten a name out of this strange kit....
Wasp turned, looking over Snow with a furrowed brow. Of course the cat didn't hunt. Of course Wasp would have to teach her so she didn't wind up dead. That's all fine, she supposed. May as well. "Come on, then, I'll show you. Can't have you showing up every other day at my den because you're starving, can we. Take your siblings to my den so they'll be safe, and then meet me at the edge of that clearing. I'll show you how to feed yourself without scaring away every other piece of prey in the forest." With that, she lept back into the bushes, and waited for Snow to do as she was told. Wasp wasn't a big fan of groups. As soon as Vine and Marsh were grown, she had been intending to show them to territory of their own and to hunt by herself again. But. It seemed things got a little bit cozier around here for a while. Until Snow could provide for herself. That's all.

Wasp stood at the edge of the clearing, waiting for Snow to show up. It was eay to pick her out among the dark undergrowth with a white pelt, but Wasp didn't move, waiting for now to come to her. "We're going to practice on nothing, to start with. Technique is important, and we don't need to collect very much prey for the evening. Your siblings have eaten, and Vine always brings something back. So. Follow me." She turned, and started walking down a path, littered with roots and twigs on its way to another, wider clearing. "Try not to make any noise if you can. If we do get to real prey, you're not going to want to have scared it all away with clumsy paws!"

Vine sighed, leaving the squirrel in the bush as she stepped out. She didn't bother to bristle in defiance, or to seem brave. Instead, she padded out with a slow, measured gait, trail drooping, letting the supposed hunter of her catch see how dreadfully thin she was before fixing her blind gaze on her. "I apologize. I was just... I thought you wouldn't notice." Her mew is purposefully thin.

"im not mouse-brained of course i would've notice, but that squirrel was for brother." Moon says annoyed, but not angry. "don't you have a mother or someone looking after you? i mean, couldn't they hunt for you so didn't have to steal prey another cat rightfully caught?"

"My mother is dead." Vine said evenly, "the den collapsed on her. And Wasp is forgetful, and from what I can hear, preoccupied with new arrivals - perhaps teaching the new older one how to hunt. She will forget." She doesn't blink, or gesture in any direction, simply continues keeping her face turned generally in the direction of moon. "And it is not exactly as if a 2 moon old, half starved and blind kit can hunt for themselves... What would you have me do, stranger?"

(Okay! I'll just post some starters I guess ^^)
Mottle was sat under the shade of a tree, eating a mouse as her tail flicked back and fourth. The she-cat licked her paws clean once she had finished and let out a quiet, satisfied purr before sitting up, looking at her sister who was dozing peacefully in a patch of sunlight. Her discolored eyes glittering with mischief, Mottle stood and padded over to Leaf, crouching down and slowly slipping towards her before pouncing. "Got you!"
Leaf leaped to her paws with a hiss, clawing away at whatever creature had woken her up. "Mottle!" She growled in annoyance, tail lashing, although now that she was no longer startled, it seemed hard to get mad. "Don't do that!" The ginger she-cat hissed, batting her sister over the ear with a sheathed paw. "I'll claw your ears off one day!" "You've been making that threat since we were kits!" Mottle laughed, flicking Leaf with her tail playfully .
Casper walked through the forest, his patchy, dull pelt hanging to his dull frame as he looked around, stomach growling. He seemed to always be hungry these days... He didn't know how to hunt, he hadn't eaten a solid meal since... well, in his whole life, really. The young tom glanced around as he heard some leaves move and he sniffed it cautiously, realizing that it could possibly be food. Not having much other choice, he followed it.

Wasp turns apruptly to face Snow once the tress break into a clearing, chin dropped as she slides a stick out into the soft, spongy earth. "Alright. Show me what you already know. Let me see what you can do, Snow, and what we have to work on." She had a suspicion that the young cat had a long way to go, and this showed in the lash of her tail, but she didn't say this aloud. No sense in ruining the young cat's confidence, especially not when Snow and her siblings were going to be living in her territory. She didn't need enemies in her own home.

(Thank you! Maybe I'll have Casper run into them if that's okay.)
Casper followed the scent, realizing bout halfway through that this was cat, not prey. The tom lashed his tail before glancing around and deciding to continue to follow it anyway, creeping through the undergrowth and looking around, spotting Wasp and Snow and the gray tom flattened his ears cautiously, watching the pair from the undergrowth, hoping his gray fur would blend in well enough to not be seen.
