I think it went the opposite way for the most part. The first series had a vibrant supporting character, which compensated for having only a single point of view, but a lot of cats were thrown behind and barely did anything. In The Prophecies Begin we barely know anything about half the characters. In Omen of the Stars, a lot of background characters got a subplot, so we got to know less mentioned characters better. The only ones that didn't, off the top of my head were Hazeltail and Mousewhisker.

Fair enough. The first avos book was good, but being away from the Clans for 3/4 of it means that I still have a few vital questions:
Who the heck are Fernsong and Snowbush, and what are they doing here? Why is there another black she-cat called Holly? How did ShadowClan plan their reproduction cycles so well?

Snowbush is Cloudtail and Brightheart's son who was born all the way back in The Last Hope, Fernsong is Lionblaze's and named after Ferncloud, and Hollytuft is one of Lionblaze's daughters along with Sorrelstripe. Hollytuft is the spitting image of Hollyleaf, and both she and Sorreltail are named after Hollyleaf and Sorreltail respectively. |

I take it you haven't read TLH yet? I read it, just about like 4 years ago. And I don't remember any specific details of the book because I flipped through it at best. I don't think Sorreltail was as old as Brightheart, and I'm not sure about Brightflower. It's just that in OOTS, the writing and plot made it really difficult for me to take note of or remember the later generation |
