Do you have any recommendations for places to learn other languages? I'm using duolingo, but idk if that will really teach me in the long run.

Duolingo is really awesome for learning vocab and understanding sentence structure however it just generally sucks at teaching grammar and the reasons behind why the words are the way they are. Also it never teaches the alphabet.
So recommending looking up the alphabet for a language that you want to learn first. Chances are you're going to find one on youtube.
Other than that getting old college textbooks might work well? They can be a little outdated but most of the grammar stays the same. Which is what you're getting the book for

Well I'm still learning but I do suggest Duolingo and Memrise, I use both which is nice as they are set up a little differently but with the same objective in mind. Basically what Sanders said.

Duolingo is a great starting place, memrise is pretty good too. Tbh being around the language a lot will help you in the long run (it helped me lots when I was learning English). You can start reading basic stuff (like children's books) and slowly moving onto harder things like newspapers and articles from popular places. Songs help a lot too. Maybe start with simple or basic songs (depending on your level) and then move onto regular ones?

Listen to it a lot. That's a pretty good start. Find music (preferably that you like), and listen to it while reading lyrics. It's important when starting out to get an idea of where words start and stop.
