Because she made Clear Sky so much worse than he was already. Also sometimes acting a little too big for her own size and also played around a bit with privileges. All in all I didn't really hate her, but you got on my nerves quite a few times

Hmm, well when I hated her it was because she used Thunder. Then got with his father. And then she babied Clear Sky, making him think he did nothing wrong. Also there's her high and mighty attitude, how many times did she say "I'm Clear Sky's mate" like we get it. Also forgot to point out that when One Eye and his goons were torturing Clear Sky to death she just pretty much sat there and watched. And then later begged one of the cats that killed her father, asking to join his group, lol. Idk, I don't hate her as much as I used to, I'm kinda like neutral/dislike. But the Erins tried so hard to make her more likable and meh. Either way a lot of people apparently still didn't forgive her for the Thunder incident, or saw that she had more potential as a villain and the Erins didn't go with it.

I didn't really like how she treated Clear Sky, but she really wasn't all that bad imo. I don't think she's awesome, but if all the characters that bothered were on one massive list she'd probably be 103rd or something.
She's just one of those characters that I probably would care more about if 20 or 30 characters weren't worse than her.

To be honest I always wondered wy is she evil. The haters usually bring up points like "if your father makes you use cats you are just as bad as him" but think about it. One Eye raised her like a loving father, and he hsd to be like both parents to her. And even though she probably knew that he is using her, she wanted to do anything to repay him his kindness towards her.
I don't see her attitude towards Clear Sky/Skystar as bad. I think she just wanted to help at least the little she could, and nobody honestly needed Clear Sky to fall into depression she probably saved him from.
I don't see how is she a mary sue. She is pretty? Yeah. She had nice name? Yeah. But I hate people who think that these two things make character a mary sue. She played a show on Thunder, which is a major flaw. And if she was mary sue, she wouldn't get banished (even though she got back). It's not like everyone forgives her everything (I honestly feel like people who say that didn't even read the books). She had to try hard to regain their trust, and she succeeded.
So she apparently causes drama? Yeah she actually does I'm not gonna argue with that, but she isn't the only character in the whole series. The point most people bring up is that she got kidnapped by Slash and there was such a big deal. But if Storm was Clear Sky's mate, she would get kidnapped. If it was Petal, she would get kidnapped. I honestly don't see the deal with it.

But...the whole reason Slash pretty much kidnapped Star Flower was because apparently her father promised her to him, and they had history together. I feel like if it was Storm or Petal, things would have went differently tbh. Also I personally think the Erins were still trying too hard to make her more likable, by introducing a character that makes her look like a saint, aka Slash. And the fact that her irises are apparently star-shaped, is pushing it in my book. It's bad enough the Erins wrote her as "so desirable" by two of the original leaders, then adds the fact that she knows about the cure for the sickness, the star shaped iris, an then being the big baddy's daughter, like some mafia set up. I try to shrug it off for the most part, I just felt like the Erins could have done better when writing her instead of shoving it in our faces? But this again, is just my opinion on the matter lol.

I agree, Maplefrost. Erins did try too hard, but I still see no reason for her to be hated, despised, evil or marked as mary-sue. I searched it up and there is a certain condition where your pupils are star-shaped, so I suppose she is realistic to some level.
